Ethiopia is heading the right direction and I really don't know what my country of Nigeria is waiting for. Go Ethiopia!
Nop she is not
Nigeria will start when there is nothing else to loot
❤well said
First, make sure you have a constant supply of electricity. Until then, it's just a pipe dream.
Congratulations Ethiopia, you are much advanced than the place where I live in Southern Europe.
Keep developing together with all African countries.
We love you bro
This is absolutely brilliant news and I love that our people are embracing the movement readily! Great job Ethiopia and keep up the work of forward thinking and progress!
Ethiopia : we need electric cars
Somalia & Egypt : this is aggression, we will fight to the death 😂
Don't joke and provoke about serious measures. This is not circus and lives are at stake.
People exist in Egypt because nature moved water through Nile, nobody should take it away. If you do than all Egyptians at least have the right to migrate to Ethiopia
@@GrandTerr com’n bro we’re so scared of you guys 😂 If you guys have balls, go and help free your Palestinian brothers first, then we will discuss about the issues between us!
@@GrandTerr Egypt used the water to build a goddamn dam! And ofc Nile is Ethiopian's. There's nothing that hold them back to build there own dam. If shortage is the concern, then Aswan dam is also involved in it.
@@chaitea2425 😂😂They're bunch of Dogs. Couldn't do better than barking.
Using electric and the nile is not any business of Somalia
Woww Ethiopian cities looks nice and Clean and , Great going Africa and Ethiopia
With the recent policies passed by the Ethiopian government and the growing demand for electric vehicles, it is only natural for Ethiopian entrepreneurs to seize this opportunity and establish specialized garages focused on the maintenance and repair of electric cars. This could lead to the creation of an entirely new industry, providing jobs and skills for Ethiopian mechanics, who could become global leaders and experts in electric vehicle technology. From there, the journey to producing an Ethiopian-made electric vehicle is within reach. The potential for Ethiopia to emerge as a hub for electric vehicle innovation is immense, paving the way for a bright, sustainable future.
🇪🇹❤ happy new year
As a current engineering student, you have completely changed my point of view. Thank you for the information and the positive thoughts.
Good luck Electricity tariffs set to increase 400% in the next four years in Ethiopia as per the IMF loan program.
@@Ahmed-gg4ozhey zoomali we have a dam that will supply us electricity, we will also dam the rivers that flow to somalia and force yall to give us a port 🤣 after all try to drink sea water 😢
That’s all we want and need. Economic, medical, educational growth. Unite and build our country as one. After Addis has been built to great standard, every region needs a major city built to the same standard.
Adama, Mekelle, Gonder, Hawassa, Jigjiga etc. When we progress as one nation and it benefits all nationalities, all class of rich, poor, middle class, we will be unstoppable.
Only the rich can buy EV, even the average person in Addis can’t afford a regular car.
So .... what is your point even if the car is priced the same as our neighbor Kenya and Sudan...half of Ethiopia people will buy it and cause huge traffic...I will be very rich in Nairobi right now but here in Ethiopia I don't even afford good apartment 😂😂
Oil cost way more , it's the main cause of inflation in the world.
I live in Addis We don't even have a light in our house😂
Get a Job and stop having babies if you can't afford them.
You now have a car to power your house 😅😅
F150😊
Ethiopia is very good at focusing on the wrong things, if the right thing not enough.
which place in Addis you don't have light Mr.? tell me please hhh
You dont you are somalian or eritrean hating. Everybody in Addis has lights
What a joke. There isn’t even enough electricity for day to day life. It cuts out all day long. How’s the power grid going to handle this?
You talk shit . We going to sell electricity very very soon
Yes .the grand renanance dam is going to handle it .
@@Samoe1234 Egypt has entered the chat
This won’t work since Ethiopia has power shortages. Im here and the electricity is gone most of the time. Unless you own a house 🏠 and reliable electricity, don’t bother buying EV. Also most of the people live outside Addis where roads are in bad condition. Government is broke and they don’t want to subsidize the fuel anymore. That is why they are obsessed with EVs. There is Oil and Gas in Ogaden Pasin, why not develop that??
❤well done Ethiopia
Avatr 11, VW ID4, Merc EQC, Rivian R1, Tesla Model Y, honda hrv e, amuzing Addis!👏🏾
The Chinese government should collaborate with the Ethiopian government and invest in electric vehicle infrastructure, including charging stations, alongside Chinese automakers. With minimal investment, this could open a massive market of millions who need access to these services, creating a **win-win situation** for both sides. Chinese companies can avoid the high taxes and competitive struggles they face in Western markets, while Ethiopians gain access to affordable, high-quality products. This partnership offers tremendous growth potential, allowing Chinese manufacturers to establish a strong foothold in an untapped African market, while also fostering technological progress in Ethiopia. 🇪🇹 🇨🇳🤝
Why is the government introducing 15% VAT on EV? That's stupid.
You aren't in Ethiopia...this one is simple for us😂😂unlike other cars
Power Outages in Ethiopia is massively underestimated issue by the government, even though they have recently had the introduction of the dam, giving more than enough capacity to generate power to the whole country they still failed to upgrade their associated equipment such as transformers and so on, to adept with electrical consumptions demand, hence power outages occurs frequently as some places stay for weeks without access to electricity.
EV's being "green" is the furthest thing from the truth.
EVs in Ethiopia, with zero loading stations and maintenance. Check out the roads, I have not seen a ev 4by4 yet.
If one can maintain the complicated petrol engine why will it be that difficult to try electeic one with fewer parts, plus electricity is cheap in ethiopia since the country has one of the biggest hydroelectric dams in africa
@@thomassissay5719cheap electricity? according to the authorities it’s going to quadruple in a day or so & continue to increase in coming months.
@@samuelfeleke5481 Global warming is the cause and our life is at stake if we don't take it seriously like you. The more people use electricity the more it will be cheaper....Ethiopian government and china are making sure it is not expensive.
two maintenance centres are just opened this week, this is just the beginning.
@@thomassissay5719 It just doubled last week.
Before launching the EV cars, the country should build the charge stations in different places in the country.
This is plan for 2030…
I thought Ethiopia 🇪🇹 was only poor people but inside the rich people there are people who can buy Tesla and Volkswagen expensive car's 😆😅😅😂
Why not focus on public transportation?
Ethiopian Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed is a bold and committed leader. He has accomplished many things that were once thought impossible, and he leads by example, with many following in his footsteps. He vowed to transform Addis Ababa, meaning "New Flower," and has made remarkable progress in doing so. He promised to build the GERD Dam, which is now almost completed, and pledged to plant billions of trees, a goal he has also achieved. He has reformed the country for the better in a short period. Though there are many challenges, they will eventually pass. One thing we know for certain is that when Dr. Abiy plans something, he goes above and beyond to achieve it.
What a city 🏙️
thank you , thank you
Dumping the world's electric cars in africa....way to go green goons.
The government first needs to build the infrastructure to support electric vehicles. But i like the positive attitude the people of ethiopia have. Here in america, people don’t like the idea of being forced to use EV’s. On top of that, EV battery failure is expensive (sometimes up to 40k usd for a battery replacement), and these cars are not as practical as gas powered vehicles, especially in a location that lacks a charging infrastructure. They are also more expensive and most auto shops dont actually know how to repair them, unless its a shop that specializes in EV. I’m not trying to be negative, but the people of Ethiopia really need to pay attention to how the government adopts this tech.
But I also used to be an EV fanatic until i realized it’s not as black and white as these politicians make it to be.
America will be bringing you Democracy
Massive 🌑🌑 .... Children of 🇪🇹 are shaking things up once again! Our mind's limit is how far we allow it!............, but just also think of the little guys😢
Good Ethiopia.

I love this Ethiopia you talking in media, but the reality in the ground is very different. In Addis Abeba, it's hard to get electricity and it is funny people in this video talk about charging their car, when there is no light in every house. The Ethiopia in this video doesn't exist in reality.

Yargawu

Yeah we dont have enough to loght our homes. How are we going to afford these? Maybe if we have nuclear power plant and the dam.
banning gas cars?
it seems like lot of people here do not know that ethiopia is in midst of an armed conflict with militants and terrirosts
whether it be tigray war or skirmishes with militants/terrorists in amhara, ethiopia should focus on providing peace and security for its people before making these big decision like this.
if you are a head of a state what is your priority NOW? Ban those stinky gasoline and diesel cars, or actually trying to resolve war?
You can do both
You are bullshitting.. you are enemy of Ethiopia and get lost. The government are in control. No way you get hand of this county never 👎
EVangelists really have a smooth brain. In a war all your infrastructure is damaged. You need to rebuild and repair it but then those get destroyed again. Yet you need transportation and other infrastucture to transport troops as well as civilians to win the war. EVs are restricted by its grid while ICE vehicles can go anywhere as it is not attached to a grid but can be refueled via jerry can. By banning gas cars and promoting use of EVs you are prolonging the war and suffering.
BS! First you will need charging stations, which will require a significant investment by the goverment. People can't get basic social services, let alone EV charging stations. Good luck!
They save the money from buying oil from the Saudi Criminal family....money redirected
