Hi Clarissa, I wanted to give you my honest opinion and that is your a VERY talented designer you should really consider making a channel about room design and home renovations style content I miss seeing that on your channel 🙏🏽🇨🇦❤️😉
Carrissa! I have been rewatching alot of your older content on your other channel. I miss your day in the life's so bad. You have always been my favourite mom vlogger and help inspire me to be the best mom I can be. I hope you do more day-in-the-life type videos.
Carissa, you have such good tips. You're a Rockstar Mama 🤩❤✨️ You mentioned you don't enjoy doing voice overs... I really enjoy your commentary. I don't think you have anything to worry about. Those who enjoy your content will stick around ❤
Growing up the washer and dryer were on the main floor. But we had a laundry chute on the upstairs floor and that was always awesome to jump down during the day while there was laundry in the chute. 😁
What I do in bathrooms with rags to save on laundry is start on the mirrors, then move to counters and then finish with the toilet. Then I only need one rag per bathroom. If I’m doing more than one bathroom I’ll do counters and mirrors first for all and then do toilets last. It works! I use maybe 2 rags max but usually 1.
As an ex manager of housekeeping for a large hotel you really need at least 4-5 rags to clean one bathroom and I cannot stress enough the importance of wearing gloves when cleaning especially bathrooms because of all the germs
It is so funny how so often people don’t recognise their own strengths. I love your voice overs because I feel like I’m hanging with a friend. You talk about the girls, I love your sense of humour and you recognise real LIFE. You are not judgemental of others and you explain what you do and how you live. “Look at what came out of the couch, dog fur and of course , party glitter “😂😂😂😂
Growing up, our washer and dryer were always in the basement and even in the first place I rented, which was like a townhouse situation, it was still in the basement and I thought everyone's house was like that (most people I knew that weren't in apartments had basements when I was younger). I remember moving into my current house and being so excited that the laundry was on the main level bc its so much more accessible (and easier to remember 😉). I never even DREAMED someone could have their washer and dryer on the second floor until my cousin moved into a new build last year and every single one of my family members took turns bringing it up bc it was that exciting to us 😂
It’s so interesting to see differences between countries / parts of the world. In Poland having a laundry room is a very recent thing and still considered a luxury. Usually there is a washing machine in a bathroom (or in the kitchen) situation 😊
Get this abt washer and dryer set ups. I grew up in a 100 year old home that was really small and didn't have a "laundry room", the washer went in our tiny pantry in the kitchen and the dryer was sitting out in the openness of the kitchen. Growing up I never thought it was weird, which is weird in itself. I never thought, why don't we have a laundry room? and I think it's partly because my neighborhood was a historic district and all the houses I was always at, they didn't have laundry rooms either. A lot of people had washers and dryers on a back patio covered stoop, which I loved that set up. A lot of us had clothes lines outside as well, and alot of people didn't even have dryers at all. I loved our sun dried bed sheets, talk about crisp and clean feeling, oh it was the best fresh bed you ever slept in.
I have been coming on here everyday for the past month waiting for your video lol I rewatched so many of your previous ones, as soon as I saw you post on instagram I came here so fast😂 like I need this new motivation 😅
When we were looking to buy a new house our realtor took us and showed us a few with the laundry room upstairs. She cautioned us about having it upstairs because she said, “think about what would happen if the washing machine ever overflows.“ And at the time I thought oh yeah that makes sense, but now I’m thinking how often does your washing machine ever overflow these days? In the 29 years we have lived in this house it’s never once happened. I would absolutely love to have my washer and dryer upstairs. With the exception of tea towels and dish rags everything has to be carried back up the stairs after I do the laundry. LOVE your videos!!!!
I’m going to try to wash my couch cushion covers. Delicate, cold water and line dry. Mine need it soo bad! It’s almost Spring, hopefully the extra sunlight will help us both. Recharge our batteries and just give me a shot of optimism that I could REALLY use. I remember you struggling with seasonal affect disorder too. It’s been so bad this year, I think because I had to euthanize my kitty too. Cancer. And he was such a special little souls and I loved him beyond words. So I’m ready for some sun, some blue skies, my garden blooming, and my heart trying to mend a tiny bit. Take care!
This is our first time having a laundry room upstairs and love it! It works.. this video gave me the motivation I need! Thank you! You have a beautiful home!
Hi Carissa, I live in Chicago and everyone I know has there washer and dryer in the basement. I have to go through the entire house too to go downstairs to wash clothes. I wish ours was upstairs. 😊…You are such a GREAT MOM! ❤
Thanks for the motivating video! Growing up (in Ohio) the washer and dryer in one of my houses was by the garage on the 1st floor and in my second house it was in the basement. With being married and living in NC, the washer and dryer have always been on the first floor in the houses we have lived in, and I prefer that because I tend to do laundry when my kids are sleeping at night, and I don't want it to wake them while they sleep in their rooms upstairs. I've always had it downstairs so I can do stuff in there without waking anyone. My washer and dryer are a bit noisy when they are running.
Hi Clarissa, thank you so much for sharing your videos and tips. I like how you comment and it inspires me.❤ I live in the Netherlands and we have the washer and dryer at the attic. It takes time to find a routine for the laundry. And it' s a lot of going up and down the stairs. I try to do the most laundry in the morning. And fold when I have the time or in the evening. 😊
Growing up our washer and dryer for both my husband and I was in the basement. Our last home (which was our first home, no kids) our laundry room was right off the kitchen with our bedroom off the other end of the kitchen. So there wasn’t much of a walk with the laundry. Now in our current house that we’ve been in just over 2 years (with now 2 kids) our laundry is actually in our kitchen while all of the bedrooms are upstairs. I absolutely hate the laundry being in the kitchen but I hate even more having to drag the laundry up and down the stairs. It’s not feasible for us right now but we have plans for moving it from out of the kitchen and possibly upstairs
In the UK the majority of houses have their washing machine & dryers in their kitchen (not unless they have a separate utility room). We've never had the space to have our dryer in the kitchen unfortunately but we're in the process of moving it out of our dining room into the garage where it used to be as we're about to get new carpets installed. 😅
An apartment that I lived in had a closet with the washer/dryer in it. It was just outside of my bedroom and honestly I loved it so much. No lugging baskets across a house or up and down stairs. I guess the con would be noise if running it at night, but I think it'd be worth it. Although I think I would still want a type of utility closet closer to the garage/kitchen if that was being separated from the laundry.
Our washer and dryer are in our unfinished basement. It's a lot of work to go up and down two sets of stairs, but it actually was such a blessing recently because it flooded multiple times. That would have been a mess upstairs.
My house is almost 100. When it was built it had no washer/dryer hookups. Over the years someone put the washer hookups in the kitchen, several years later they add the dryer hookups in the basement. 😑 I do get my steps in though and all that up and down creepy basement stairs is super fun. 🤣
Loved the video! Our laundry room is currently in our basement. We used to have a laundry chute but got rid of it bc.. out of sight out of mind 🫣😅 but we will be moving soon and everything will be one level! Can’t wait lol
We moved into our new home about a year and a half ago. Our master bedroom is on the main floor and our laundry room leads to it. My kids are 10,8,and 5 so this works for me because they are in charge of bringing dirty clothes (their rooms are upstairs) down and taking folded and hang up clothes back up. The only thing I don't like is I used to wash my load a day overnight, pop it in the dryer in the morning and have it put away by early morning but it keeps me awake running so I have to do it in the morning now. Also where are the cute shelves betweem the windows in Britton's room from? My daughter wants a fairytale themed room and I think those would be perfect!
my laundry is in the basement and that's where I like it. My laundry room is nice and big. We looked at a house that had the laundry in a tiny space between the garage and kitchen! Way too small to hang things to dry, to sort clothes, etc. BTW, good to see you ditching the swiffers, they are so wasteful.
I love your videos and your gorgeous home! I’m excited for the new house (Congratulations!) and to see what you do with it! But I need to know where or how you find the energy and motivation to get so much done!? 😜 I am in a slump and struggle bussin with this right now! I’m sure it helps that it’s your job, it’s not mine (I wish it was) but tell me your ways!! 😂 Thanks for always sharing your videos tho, they are helpful when I can get them on and go for a bit, I just need a big punch to get on a streak!
I wish I could open up the windows. We live in the country in GA. Our 'yellow season' has started and it is going to be rough. If I leave the windows open, all of that yellow will get inside and I will be dusting it forever.☹️ Then regular dust will start up, then the heat starts and we lose opportunity for a nice breeze to flow through. I do miss when I used to clean up while living in IL. I could open the windows all day.
I grew up with the laundry in the basement and now I have it on the main floor. I don't mind it, but would prefer having laundry closer to where all the laundry lives. Now the baskets of clean come out and sit on the floor by the stairs, in the living room, or on top of the washer and dryer. It can take over a week to get to the rooms where they belong. I have teens that do their own laundry....sort of.
Downstairs laundry but we have a laundry shoot built in from our en suite bathroom cabinets down into the laundry room… and it is one of my favourite things about our house 😂
Lol I was thinking, it's only mid-40s here in IN...😅 I have been cleaning a little this morning! Taking it easy since I pulled a muscle (they think) in my back on Monday.. unfortunately, with 2 littles, there's no resting for long! Love watching your videos, whether I clean along or not.
I absolutely love your videos your home is beautiful and I think it’s so smart that you note your list in your phone I keep saying I’m going to do that my self I usually write it down but I think I’m going to try it my self as my phone goes every where with me..
Laundry room downstairs! Our first house was downstairs and I felt like I kept on top of laundry more because I spent the majority of my time downstairs to keep it clean and not so messy. It was a hard eyesore. Now ours is upstairs and I shut the door and forget about it. 😂lol
in theory I love mine being upstairs so I don't have to carry everything up and down the stairs, but when I'm doing a big laundry day I have to take MYSELF up and down the stairs a lot to move the loads through, so definitely a tradeoff for sure
We have it in the attic :) I do like it because It's less noisy. I have an app that let's me know if it's done. Also drying racks in the attic. I never know what to do with wet rags/towels in the kitchen though.. We have floor heating so I don't know how to dry it. Love your videos'!
My washer and dryer is down 2 sets of stairs and in the garage and I haaaate it! It makes me really hate doing laundry and on days when I do a lot of laundry my legs are super sore the next day from going up and down so many stairs.
My laundry room is upstairs but I have a small house and I like to watch tv or game on my bed so for us it’s better since we do 2-3 loads a night and everything is the same level. If we could do it before the evening I would prefer downstairs I think.
Mines downstairs this home was built in 1989. It's right next to the master. The house before this one was built in 2015 and it was upstairs. I liked having it close to the rooms. But I do like that I don't have to move it up or down stairs when moving. Also I hate the pan when it's upstairs. There are three rooms upstairs and one downstairs. I find it hard to go back and forth to get the baskets and bringing it all back up
Hi Carissa, what is that app you are using on your phone to list tasks? I’ve been trying to find one that I like, but nothing thrills me so far. Thanks, and love your videos!
My laundry room is upstairs. It was nice 20 years ago when the kids were younger , but not so much for me know 😂. I wish I had one downstairs . I have been actually looking at how much it would be to plumb for one downstairs .
I like your voice overs. As an extremely introverted person they are perfect. Not too much and not too little. I personally do not like when people stop what they’re doing and talk for 5 mins. I don’t mind that occasionally but there is a youtuber I stopped watching as frequently because half the video is just her talking to the camera which is not necessarily a bad thing it’s just interrupts the flow. Idk if anyone else feels that way but you’re doing a great job 👏🏻
Ours is upstairs next to the kitchen. (I think it used to be the pantry). I like it up here. If it was downstairs, I'd forget it way more than I do now 😂
Lucky you have spring weather already we just got like a foot of snow here 😭 Honest question, why do you wear shoes inside? With all the icky stuff we pick up outside I’m surprised you wear shoes in your nice home.
I would take a laundry room pretty much anywhere, so long as it was actually in the house. I live in Florida and it is more common to have them in the garage and I hate it because the washer and dryer get so gross so fast and it's such a pain.
We have an older home & our laundry is in the basement. I absolutely HATE it. I never want to go down there at the end of the evening bc I’m too tired. 😵💫
Do you think that in one of your upcoming videos you can quickly explain how you built the house shelf in the playroom. I want to attempt it but unsure where to start. =)
Hi Carissa, I've one question. Does the floor get wet when cleaning with the carpeta cleaner. I want a machine but I suffer because I dint want to damage the wood 😅
Our laundry is in the basement, but my inlaws laundry is main floor.... I wish ours was at least on the main floor. its such a pain to carry the laundry up and down two flights of stairs!
Hi Clarissa, I wanted to give you my honest opinion and that is your a VERY talented designer you should really consider making a channel about room design and home renovations style content I miss seeing that on your channel 🙏🏽🇨🇦❤️😉
I get how u can confuse her name with the 90s Nickelodeon show, Clarissa Explains It All 😂. Correction: her name doesn't have an L in it.
Carrissa! I have been rewatching alot of your older content on your other channel. I miss your day in the life's so bad. You have always been my favourite mom vlogger and help inspire me to be the best mom I can be. I hope you do more day-in-the-life type videos.

Growing up the washer and dryer were on the main floor. But we had a laundry chute on the upstairs floor and that was always awesome to jump down during the day while there was laundry in the chute. 😁
Opening the windows on cooler days is my favorite. There are so many people spraying their lawns, burning, and loud mowers most of the time anymore.
I think your mix of cleaning information and tips and then general talking and up dates is really good
I love watching your cleaning videos , so relaxing and full of motivation

Those close up shots of the carpet shampooer are mesmerizing!
When I need to be productive but I’m just not feeling it, I watch a Carissa video. Works every time!
Me too! I see how lively and clean her home looks and think "I want to feel that here too!" Then, I get to work. 😊
Me also! I only get a few mins in and I'm ready to go clean! 😂🎉
Motivated me so much. Thank you. Your videos have really helped me. You’re a gift to the internet!

If your washer has a delay feature try delaying it to a time you’re usually in a deeper sleep and see if that helps.
my laundry is in the basement and that's where I like it. My laundry room is nice and big. We looked at a house that had the laundry in a tiny space between the garage and kitchen!
If it was downstairs, I'd forget it way more than I do now 😂
Hi! Where is the two piece art set in the living room from? I’ve been struggling to find something and this is perfect!
Lucky you have spring weather already we just got like a foot of snow here 😭
Honest question, why do you wear shoes inside? With all the icky stuff we pick up outside I’m surprised you wear shoes in your nice home.
I would take a laundry room pretty much anywhere, so long as it was actually in the house. I live in Florida and it is more common to have them in the garage and I hate it because the washer and dryer get so gross so fast and it's such a pain.
Down here in GA, it's blowing hot and cold, literally!
We have an older home & our laundry is in the basement. I absolutely HATE it. I never want to go down there at the end of the evening bc I’m too tired. 😵💫
My house is almost 100. My washer is in the kitchen and the dryer is in the basement 😑
I love this video.. everything is inspirational. Im tryna learn how you edit your videos so i can upgrade my videos
Do you think that in one of your upcoming videos you can quickly explain how you built the house shelf in the playroom. I want to attempt it but unsure where to start. =)
Ontario is -13 right now I’m so jealous I wish we could open our windows!
What sort of hardware did you use for the shelf in your laundry room? Hoping to do something similar in mine 😊
It is actually a fold down table I bought at Lowe’s. It all came together
Did you do your little folding table in the laundry room yourself?
Please link the couch. I love it.
How often do you clean and sanitize the kids' toys?
Our laundry is outside... have to go out the back door... down the stairs and into the laundry... it's not ideal 😭
Hi Carissa! Where did you get your ceiling fan?? I’ve been looking for that style everywhere and can’t find it!
can you do a grout cleaning video of your master bath? that'd be soooo satisfying!
Yes but I also need to regrout it because it’s missing chunks in places
@@CarissaCleansItAll i'd watch that too! haha
What is the name of your lighted vacuum. Is it the shark wet/dry vacuum.
rare hubby appearance 😁 you should do something similar to a where’s waldo in your videos 😂
🤣🤣Good idea!!
I make an appearance ? I’m gonna have to rewatch it
can you do a home tour? Love the name Britney.
Also, where did you get your coffee table?
It was actually a DIY makeover of a coffee table I got on facebook marketplace
I don’t know how you use that window cleaner without opening the window. Works so good but man..even our dog starts coughing when I have to use it. 😂
❤❤❤
❤
We had an upstairs Bonus Room, I would go in and dust and vacuum now and then. But we had 2 girls, so unless we had Company's left it alone.
Our laundry is in the basement and I hate it 😭
🙏❤️🙏❤️
