Blue Calico: the art of manipulating a cutter | WIDE

Blue calico is one of the most ancient and most popular forms of textile art on the planet. The technique is very ancient and gained popularity in China during the Western Han dynasty, some 200 years BC.
Nowadays, the Chinese are still proud of this unique cultural heritage. Ling Shu Wu's family has even created a museum dedicated to it.
After studying applied arts, the young artist devoted herself to the museum and to passing on the technique for making blue calico. She shares with us all the steps of this fine and delicate technique.

I have never heard of Blue Calico. It is now my favorite of all the Calicos.

I'd heard of Calico, but when I saw the title of the video I realised I didn't know what it was; so I watched the video. I understand why it was wildly popular and even banned for a time in some places, because it was seen as too much competition.
