Texas here....this song helps me remember 13 days.....
I have no words in French or in English to describe what I feel hearing that wonderful tune of trumpet. Amazing! Greetings from France.
Thank you Roland
Thank you, Viva Tejas, y Viva los Tejanos

@@Richard-e2w I Know, but sorry, I like this performance.
I've lost count of the number of times I've listened to this amazing performance. Bravo!
Actually, the real EL DEGUELLO was a trumpet call. This is the version Dimitri Tiomkin wrote for John Wayne's "The Alamo".... it was brilliant and moving as only Tiomkin could do... as a native Texan, it still impacts me and I think of the real ALAMO, not a movie. So, Dimitri, job well done!!....
when legend conflicts with the facts, print the legend...."the Man who shot Liberty Valance"
Late I know, but I don’t suppose you know of a link to the actual El deguello?

After defeating Santa Ana at San Jacinto, the Americans should have HANGED Santa Ana as a war criminal!
I get angry over those wishing to denigrate the American Heroes of the Alamo siege.
I still say the Texans should have hanged Santa Ana as a war criminal after his capture following the smashing defeat of Mexico at San Jacinto.
This is *the* piece where all American film music stems from. Sergio Leone told Ennio Morricone (RIP) to make the score for his Westerns sound like Dmitri Tiomkin - and you hear it throughout. As it happens I am Irish, but appreciate that it was a Russian/Ukrainian Jew (Tiomkin) who originated the best music from this whole genre: and trust the Israelis to come up with such a bravado performance. I was deeply moved. Shalom to y'all!
🙋🏻♂️👉🆒👏👏👏
heart stopping, almost. what a timeless classic. Bravo, Dimitri Tiomkin.
THX Mexiko 🇲🇽 for the repräsentation of the romantic music, beautiful music and kind people to the world 🌹❤️I am from Iran😊
Hi and iam from Israel😊
@@arikdavidovofficial3856 I wish to visit Isreal with its beautiful sun and Salz 🏝 Meer. Today had spoken my wife for a traveling and vacation in Isreal. Perhaps it makes more enjoying to watch the film "Felder on the roof". THX for nice message and have a life in the peace and healthy. Best regards from Berlin
You know this song means cut throat in English rights it’s a song that talks about no quarter to the enemy death to all look it up
For me it's the song of loving and tragedy in loving... OK, we had enough war and killing, let's go to talk about love, marriage, having a family with a good future for our children
Absolutely fabulous. Remember the Alamo! Such sadness, such feeling from this music. Thank you. ❤️

Boys never had a chance and to listen this for days on end, Never backed down ....Allowed Houston to annihilate Santa Anna a few days later at San Jacinto. Pure guts, Heroes.
Nice music especialy when we know the title :
Cut their throat
That makes senses
100% Pure Mexican War Trumpet.
it is full of melancholy......the first time I heard it in Rio Bravo
then when Stumpy accompanied it with a harmonica even more so......
The Mexican army took it from the Spanish, who took it from the Moors - it was played to accompany the black flag - an indication that no quarter will be given after the battle, and no prisoners taken.
Que gran tema , que llega a emocionar , 🎉🎉
I re-listen again this beautiful interpretation that is full of life and emotions !
Thank you for this good musical moment ...
I can feel the wind on my face , I can smell the gunsmoke. , I am standing on the wall looking into the night , I know this is the last day , I know the Alamo will fall.
I wouldn't. Change a thing , I am at peace with GOD and man as I face my enemy , it's a good day to Die.
Tom, if by chance you see this, please tell me the name of this powerful poem.
I keep coming back to hear this masterful performance. It brings me joy!
The very best...
Felicitaciones amigo! Maravillosa interpretación! Ni a un mexicano le saldría así!

OOOOOLÉEE . ¡FANTASTICO!
Detractors complain about the John Wayne version of The Alamo. But I thought it was a good, and certainly inspiring film.

At least, almost like original. Thank you so much
It is really a riddle to me that how Dimitri Tiomkin could catch the American flavor so exactly (as Gig Young stated).....
The song is actually Mexican through way of Spain from the Moors of Northern Africa if you really want to know it’s roots
A lot of Americans like Mexican music , sounds Mexican to me
Magnifica.Viva

No survivors. Not joyous, but sometimes the most expedient. A couple of my forebears died after hearing that song.
Retired Master Sergeant here. Someone wins, someone loses.
If it's you, or someone you love, it's a bit more painful. My family never avoided that. We had opinions.
Just sayin'.
goosebumps...
EXCELLENT

My favorite from John Wayne's Alamo and Rio Bravo. No Quarter!
bloody great
BONJOUR A TOUS FANTASTIC ET EMOUVANT MERCI A VOUS
I often wondered what the Mexican army would have thought if when they finnished if the Texans had played it back to them.
They essentially did at the Battle of San Jacinto, six weeks later. The Texians showed little mercy to the Mexican soldiers who were trying to surrender. General Houston, in frustration, admonished his troops with the epithet, "Gentlemen, I applaud your bravery, but damn your manners."
This is not "El Deguello". Here is a link to the Mexican band playing it. ua-cam.com/video/QKD5TgHWyxM/v-deo.html
Yeh but the texans showed no quater to the mexican army they all got slaughtered only fee left was santa anna who had to sign away land or he would meet the same fate
It is the nature of man to challenge the unknown, and each other

Super bravo......
The slit throat song. The Mexican army played it to the defenders of the Alamo for 13 days before their final assault. Meaning in shot you are all going to die no quarter given
Excelent

Eff Santa Anna forever.
Me encanta. Parece Morricone ( será al revés)
No, mi hermano Nadie se parece a Morricone.perdon
The real El Deguello is a very dull and uninspiring tune. This is a fictitious version written in 1959 by Tiomkin for Rio Bravo. The constant playing of this haunting tune as a warning of no quarter to the besieged Wayne is what gives Rio Bravo the edge over the exact same film with slightly different actors, Eldorado
