Wow! Unbelievable! Probably worth more than all of my RC stuff combined!!! Sure sounds good. I hope to hear it in person sometime!
Thanks Ted! It's a very cool piece of kit! I'm still smiling!
Hey there! The abbreviation mm Hg means millimeters of mercury. Mercury was used in the first accurate pressure gauges and is still used in medicine today as the standard unit of measurement for pressure.
Thanks Sheldon!😎😊
mmHG is used for blood pressure…
51.7mmHg per 1psi
Below 120/80mmHg is normal (2.32/1.54psi) and above 180/120mmHg means you're probly about to die (3.48/2.32psi).
@@Iowa599 people stopped using pounds and inches about 100 years ago. PSI is obsolete.
@@chippyjohn1 no it's not.
IE: tire, boost, oil, etc…
@@Iowa599 tyres, not tire. Society has been using bar and pascal for a long time now as the standard. Every country with education is taught this.
smart approach, nice clean shop
Thank you!
that is nothing short of amazing!!!! Thanks for sharing this! Cant wait to see it in the air!!
Thanks Dale! She is going to be a hoot!
Jim Sim. My dad was a pilot flying all the top british planes 1942 ...1945 plus when he came back on leave he would do a low pass over my family's farm and shake up things up a bit my mother said the sound of his plane was one of the best things she ever heard .this small engine 230 cc deserves the accolades when you consider his tempest my 5 was 37 litres and close to 3000 horse power ...
WOW! Cool stuff! Thanks for sharing!
That engine is insane!!!! You're right too, that thing is a little scary when you put some gas to it. On the second startup it looked like it wanted to fly off the back of the truck....LOL! Great video!
Thanks Tom. Yea it was bit scary for sure!
I love your enthusiasm! Think that’s what the common dominator within this hobby….

What an engine!!!!!
No Kidding! It's going to be a crazy cool aircraft!
Strega & Dago Red were so dominant at Reno!!
😎☺
Oh Oh! I think that I'm in love with that engine. 😁
I know hey! It's hard not to be! So Dang Cool!
A added bonus...... Pusher pick-up truck...!
Nice engine.
Yes indeed!
Awesome machine
Thanks Gordon! Agreed! So Dang Cool!
The blades are beautiful.
Thanks! They deserve respect for sure!
Superb 👍👍
Thanks! A real joy to test run this!
I can't wait to see the build of the Strega. My uncle has the original P-51 from CARF and hoping we can modify it to fit one of these big boys. Scale 4 blade prop with electric start...... What a dream!
Coming Soon!
This has got to be one of the sickest engines in the world . I can think of soo many things I could nlmount this to so many applications and then I can think of all the airframes it would pull the paint off of. The Ghost p51 is the best sounding plane I've ever heard can't wait to see yours. Gotta
know joe hobbies .. joe
Thanks Joe and totally agree! The engine makes me smile! The plane is going to be nuts!
Two of those babies in a big P-38 would be Awesome.
Oh my gosh yes!!!!
Jice piece of engineering. Genuine exhaust note. Great test rig, nicd & strong. I would put a mesh cage there too just to save accidentally chopping hand/nose, in-laws !!
Thanks John! Beautiful piece of Kit!
WOW thats huge prop and engine
Heck yea! She’s a monster!
That sounds amazing. Can't wait to see the maiden of the Strega 😊
Thank you! Hopefully soon!
That's a whole Lotta engine indeed!
Vroom Vroom!!!!
That things ALOT bigger than some of the ultralights at our field. And way nicer. Happy your doing a prop plane
Crazy Hey! It's such a cool engine and Will be a fun aircraft!
Great little engine! I'm doing something similar to this with an old H-1 Kawasaki 500 triple using a jackshaft gear reduction for the prop drive. I've flown my 1/3 scale Kawasaki Ki-61 7 times now with this powerplant. Waiting for new Lectron carbs to show up.
Nice! That sounds slick!
Damn I have always wanted one of those motorcycles.
Strap that rascal down, mucho power. Be safe. Sounds great, not nuts
😄👏👍
Haha. No kidding! She’s got gusto!
Big ole beast, subscribed the klom engine sound lends Very well to scale warbirds .
Such a cool engine!
@@thelightersideofrc without doubt very cool , I just hope RC engine technology gets to making flyable scale V12s
I subscribed because you are enthusiastic and I can tell you are a sweet person.
It’s good to see you ! …Tom
Thank you! 😃
the smile on the face says it all
And still smiling 😊
Ridden motorcycles 30+ years. Taught motorcycle skills for two different schools. Yes!! I love the sound of that engine! And the correct sound comparison is a 3-cylinder Triumph. 👍🏼☺️
Nice! Thanks Blair!
@@thelightersideofrc Favorite sounding motorcycle I ever owned was a Triumph Trophy 900 with a Yoshimura exhaust. Such a sweet asynchronous rhythm and tone. Looking forward to following along with your build! 👍🏼
Awesome
Thanks!
That is a beautiful beast! I'd almost buy one just to have and run it.
HAHA. Well it sat as a center piece on my table for months! I was quite comfortable just keeping it there.😂
@The Lighter Side Of RC who needs magazines on the table with a 230cc monster sitting there?
Haha. Exactly!
As a retired Auto/Diesel mechanic, and long-time RC plane flyer/builder, this engine is so COOOOOOOOOL!
Totally Charles! I'm still smiling day's later!
Ohh Jeez! I remember this being delivered. This is well into the crossover between model and manned aircraft engineering. No doubt this would get a paramotor or ultralight airborne. These things sound great too. 🤔(so I’ve heard) edit: That DOES sound good! grinning like a big kid, love it. 😊
HAHA. Such a stellar piece of kit! Day's later i'm still grinning!
Was thinking the same thing! Imagining some sort of winged thing I could fly! 👍🏼
Nice
Thanks! She’s a beauty!
I remember pretty much everyone used to put a pressure tap into the muffler/tuned pipe of their RC engines to pressurize the fuel tank(s). The advantage of using a pressure tank I guess is that you don't need to prime the engine to get it to start. Those Kolm engines are amazing!
Yea should be nice a reliable! Also simple!
NAH THE PURPOSE OF THE PRESSURE IS TO MAINTAIN FUEL FLOW AT ALL ORIENTATIONS WHILE FLYING ....STILL NEED TO CHOKE OR PRIME TO START.
LOL. You still need to prime the engine. The pressure nipple only provides pressure to the tank when the engine is running. Not to point out the obvious, but...........
@@shelbyseelbach9568 BASICALLY SAME THING I SAID ....DID YOU READ MY POST
@@shelbyseelbach9568 SO IN A CLIMB STRAIGHT UP HOW DOES THE CLUNK FORCE FUEL TO THE CARB? LOL
your right it is NUTS but dude it sounds sooooo nice cant wait to see it fly
Thanks Ray! I'm looking forward to it as well!
Sweet 😊
Thanks Tony!
Great backup engine to park your truck in the garage when you run out of gas 😀
HAHA. No kidding hey! Thanks Sven!
That's a good sounding engine. The first time I heard one was in a large scale Spitfire and was the closest thing I'd heard to a Merlin engine in a model
Yea I'm mind blown for sure! Still smiling!
That's so cool, I got to get me one of these and build me a custom reaper drone with a working 360 camera with night vision and FLIR
Thanks! Yea it's a pretty unique engine! So much fun!
Love your channel, man! You really highlight the joys of flying rc and having a ball building cool airplanes. Your shop is awesome!
Thank you very much! I appreciate the kind words! Thanks for watching!
Truck in neutral, plenty of room, giver! Please remember to stay away from the prop- both front and sides. We want to see more videos!😊
HAHA.. Thank you!
Wow! Amazing sound and love the starter motor, my shoulder would love it. As a side note please be careful with prop engines not to stand in front of it always best behind (not sure where you were when camera was shooting from the front). Keep it up always an enjoyable video to watch learning new things still.
Yea it's just stunning! Such a beautiful piece of kit! Thanks for watching!
Good advice 👍 I'm sure he has no idea what he's doing.
That starter motor is nuts
Yes! And so much fun starting this thing remotely!
That bottle is THE MOST jicky thing I have ever seen! Put a Hacker or APC pump on it and be Cool!
The aircraft is now complete. Video's coming but the bottle is simple, no moving parts and just works. Fuel pump fails and No More Flying for you!
The prop torque must be ginormous! Re the sound of a kolm engine, listen to a Merlin. It is creepy how much alike they sound. This will be fun build to watch. Thanks for putting it on!
Thanks John! Yea when I was behind it and throttling it up it was moving a TON of air!
Wow that's beautiful 😍
Thanks!
wow sweet
Thanks Darrin!
HOLY SH!T
My thoughts exactly!!!!
Darn it Johnathan now I want one. Just checked my lotto ticket and it wasn't me so now have to sell my soul😂
HAHA. So Sweet Hey Keith! Maybe skip you soul and go for something smaller.. Kidney?🤔
WOW, I have been waiting for this video from you. That is one fine piece of work, and a great sound. What is thee thrust output of full throttle? The grin on your face is worth a thousand words/ or more. .lol
Thank you for the video and sharing!!
Muse
Thanks David. Not sure. Never got above 3/4 for any length of time. Based on the amount of air moving it it will be fast!!
Where the big modles we want them large, Haha wow that's beautiful motor.
Thanks!
That needs to be in an FU4 Corsair!!! That thing sounds incredible!
Totally! Still smiling days later!
Cranking speed of the starter is amazing.
Totally! It's got some push!
SWEET!!!!!!!!!!
😎😊
I have the 155 for a Carf Spit and I’ve yet to fire mine up. Sweet engines indeed!
Nice Gary! Your in for a treat!
ok I'm totally new to this and this thing is crazy! How crazy is the plane/boat this would go in!?
HAHA. Coming soon! When you see what it's going in, you won't believe that it fits!
That is some sweet sound my friend. Way better than a Harley D. 😉 😂
Hey, that place looks like area 61 where the Diamond was first flown. 😉 😄
Thanks Al. She is jaw dropping for sure! I love going out front and seeing a whole lot of nothing!
Its gettting absolutly awesome. Fucking awesome.
Thanks!
Four of those in a big Lancaster, or two in a Mosquito! Oh yes.
Oh My goodness! That would be nuts!
Incredible 😮
Totally Hey!!!
I have only one thing to say: Damn. Wow that sounds unbelievable! I think they make a 4 Cyl too. All their engines are custom built to order. The thing almost sounds like a RR Merlin. Can’t wait to see that Mustang Build! That Kolm is a big step up from my DLE 55 in my mustang.
Yea They do make a 4 cyl, here’s the same model with a 4 cyl version ua-cam.com/video/prIWEg4Kw70/v-deo.html
Thanks Klaus! I was shocked, excited and blown away during these runs! So Crazy!
That is quite something
Good to see a turbine mad modeller impressed by a piston engine.
HAHA. Almost more impressed with this! 🤔😉
You're starting to get into some real Propeller Horsepower there, Jonathan. Can you imagine building an appropriate scale B25 and putting 2 of them in the aircraft, yeah Baby? Makes my blood run hot!!!!
Oh my goodness that would be a nuts setup!!!!
@The Lighter Side Of RC Oh yeah, nuts like a whole Box Of Brazil nuts, Cashews, Hazel nuts, Walnuts, Almonds, And peanut... Very impressive motor... I can't wait to see what you're putting it in... I'll be watching... Have a good day my friend.......
B25 used radial motors. Think Moki instead.
@Shelby Seelbach You could build A B25 and put those 3 cylinders on each side and, There you go.
@@josephkerkau2520 Sure you could. You could build a B-25 and put a single vertical stabilizer on it too and there you go. You could build a B-25 and put a second wing in it and there you go. You could build a B-25 and put four EDFs under each wing in twin nacelles and there you go. You could build a B-25 and install wingtip floats, a turbine in the tail, and give it wing panels from an imperial tire fighter and there you go. I hear you, makes sense to me!
In reality, though, if you want to put impressive horsepower in a B25, which used radial motors, you use large powerful radial motors, which are readily available and just as impressive. Think Moki. There you go!
Thatd make a fun go-kart engine
Totally!
Hello Jonathan. That had to be sweet to hear it Run. Will you be able to Fly it after you build it? Ever think of Getting a Mustang to replace Diamond Jet? I know it not be the Same but a P51 Mustang with a Kolm V4 be Awesome sweet. I still think a Mustang Fun Raising be Sweet and let Fans help you out. Ever other UA-cam have Fans help there Build.
Thanks Gregory! This was fun! Yea it will be living at the shop and we will have the pleasure of flying it!
Although I am not a fan of IC engines anymore, I must admit it is impressive !
Hard not to be. So dang cool!
