      mmHG is used for blood pressure…
      51.7mmHg per 1psi
      Below 120/80mmHg is normal (2.32/1.54psi) and above 180/120mmHg means you're probly about to die (3.48/2.32psi).

    Jim Sim. My dad was a pilot flying all the top british planes 1942 ...1945 plus when he came back on leave he would do a low pass over my family's farm and shake up things up a bit my mother said the sound of his plane was one of the best things she ever heard .this small engine 230 cc deserves the accolades when you consider his tempest my 5 was 37 litres and close to 3000 horse power ...

    I remember pretty much everyone used to put a pressure tap into the muffler/tuned pipe of their RC engines to pressurize the fuel tank(s). The advantage of using a pressure tank I guess is that you don't need to prime the engine to get it to start. Those Kolm engines are amazing!

I am not at all familiar with these engines, but seems like some kind of shroud assembly inside the cowl could be a good idea. I would balance the prop as a unit. I weigh each blade, then I spanwise balance each blade like a heli blade. Then bolt it together and balance it as a cross. The blades are hollow around 25mm in from each tip. I drill a 3mm hole and next to it a 1mm hole for air escape. I inject Hysol to balance. If you have 0.1g scales use tape to balance the prop. Take the tape off and weight it. That gives you the amount of Hysol to inject in each blade. Carb adjusting. The carb nearest the back will be richest, carb at the front will be leanest. I use Pointed nose pliers to pinch the front line first. Listen for immediate sag (perfect mixture) or delay and increased revs (rich mixture) lean that. Go to middle carb, same thing and finally rear carb. (This is the line direct to the carb) we used 4s battery on starter…

    Hi there! How do you secure ball joints on the rod? I see some red sealant or glue on every connection. Can you tell me what’s that? 1:38

    • @thelightersideofrc
      @thelightersideofrc  Рік тому +2

      The red stuff was from the kolm factory. For the other ball joints they are a friction fit?

    You're starting to get into some real Propeller Horsepower there, Jonathan. Can you imagine building an appropriate scale B25 and putting 2 of them in the aircraft, yeah Baby? Makes my blood run hot!!!!

      B25 used radial motors. Think Moki instead.

    • @josephkerkau2520
      @josephkerkau2520 Рік тому

      @Shelby Seelbach You could build A B25 and put those 3 cylinders on each side and, There you go.

    • @shelbyseelbach9568
      @shelbyseelbach9568 Рік тому

      @@josephkerkau2520 Sure you could. You could build a B-25 and put a single vertical stabilizer on it too and there you go. You could build a B-25 and put a second wing in it and there you go. You could build a B-25 and put four EDFs under each wing in twin nacelles and there you go. You could build a B-25 and install wingtip floats, a turbine in the tail, and give it wing panels from an imperial tire fighter and there you go. I hear you, makes sense to me!
      In reality, though, if you want to put impressive horsepower in a B25, which used radial motors, you use large powerful radial motors, which are readily available and just as impressive. Think Moki. There you go!

      Moki radial. There is also another company that staarts with a V that is also a great option.

    Hi, which hub - propeller are you using? Could you share the pitch template? I did buy the same engine and I have the Soloprop hub but they stated that could not be used with the Kolm IL230. Thanks.

      All of the parts came from CARF. Is a Vario prop but with the center portion removed. So each blade is adjusted at the tip independently using the wedge. Shoot me an email and I can give you the template dimensions
