I can't say enough nice things about the person making the video. I love that she understands that speaking SLOWLY and CLEARLY is important when instructing the masses, not having distracting long wildly painted fingernails and not being overly chatty just to the point. I will like and follow.
Thanks for giving me answers instead of more questions
-Thread type
-needle type
-machine type
-stich pattern
-hemming
All great tips 👍

You gem! That tissue paper tip would have saved me a few bad words if I watched this earlier!
I’ve been sewing off and on for over 25 years. I will be sewing my first knit garment very soon. I’m so glad I watched this video. The tips given are amazing. Thank you ☺️

Absolutely excellent presentation. Very easy to flow. Great teacher! Thank you!
Fabulous video! Love the content and love the valuable information you’ve provided within a 5 minute video! 👍
I cant wait to try this this weekend. I just started learning to sew and I managed to make a very poor bra and panty set using an old stretchy turtleneck sweater and I have cotton thread so I pulled the fabric as I sewed so the stitch would stretch. It was a headache. I wish someone had told me there was thread that also stretched. I was convinced it was just me being to new.
So helpful! Thanks for taking the time to share.
This was amazing. So useful. Thank you.
Thank you for such great information!
So easy to flow. Thanks!
Wow. So much information in 5 mins. And understandable.
This was more helpful than any video I've watched. None recommended switching the needle. Also I didn't know about the thread either.
This is the info I was looking for. Thanks.

I found this presentation about a year and a half after you first shared it. Highly timely for me and much appreciated. I’ve avoided stretch knits until now. Your presentation was so well produced and chock full of really great tips. Thank you so much for sharing. I’m a new subscriber and look forward to more. 😊

Excellent video, I really enjoyed it. I would like to see how you sew hems with the coverstitch machine because you cannot actually see what you are doing.
I’ve never watched a UA-cam video and needed to pull out a pen and paper 📝 thank you so much for the knowledge! I was ready to throw my machine out the dang window 😂 it just needed a simple needle swap 🤦🏻♀️😂😂 all the other videos I watched were useless, but you, you’re fantastic! Thanks again! 🖤🖤
Hi! So glad to hear our video was helpful! Hope you continue enjoy sewing! 😘😘😘
Very Good!.
I was hesitant to give Jersey another try because the first time I tried it, it came out with this hideous frill. But the adorable fabric has sat around sadly since. I'll try your tricks! Thank you for the great advice and demonstration. ♥
Hope you have fun!❤️
That top is so gorgeous, you did not come here to play! 😍
nice video, i have just a regular old sewing machine without all these settings, may be could try different needle and thread options and test if that would help.
I have so many problems with polyester!! I am hemming a bridesmaid for a friend's daughter and don't want to disappoint. You answered every single problem I am having with a short explanation as to why. I'm an educator and am always lookimg for complete explanations. Excellent video!!!
So happy to hear this video could help you out!

Walking foot works great for knit fabric
COOL EXPLANATION
Thank you , i struggle with binding in this fabric types
You can do it!
This is great. Thank you so much.
Good information. Love your poofy sleeve blouse - did you make it?
Would like to ask can you make a video about sewing heavy material or think even leather. If possible. And the different way to use a serger.
I'm in the middle of make a (possibly ill-conceived) jacket-type top with stretch fabric. The possible ill-conceived part being that it has a lining fabric that isn't stretchy. Not sure that it's going to work out but I want to give it the best chance possible.
Thanks for the video!
Let us know how you did it! 🙌🙌
can someone hlep? the last tipp.
softlock as shown in the video around 4:25 is that only possible with an overlock maschine?
Or could i do something simmilar clean with a normal one that has some Overlock options?
btw best video for short quick guide ever! love it
Quick question: when stretchy thread is up top, does that mean that stretchy thread should also be in my bobbin
Hello Ma'am. Thank you very much for this very instructive video. I need help with something. That's the first time I am working with cotton jersey and I am having trouble finding which is the right side. Can you kindly advise? Best regards from Mauritius.
I feel like basically if you want to see knit fabric you need two extra machines and an entirely different thread/machine/needle set up 😭
Great teacher God bless you for this. Please which types of machines are you using please,
We used a Bernina 570 Quilter's Edition but you can really sew with any standard sewing machine.
Can you use a starch spray as you sew. So maybe less stretching as you sew.
Would you recommend the ball or stretch needle for sewing 4-way stretch fabric, stretch lace or mesh?
Can you do a video on how to sew strech fabric made from remenats of undetermined fiber because I bout 2 yards (pre-cut) from Walmart and it stretches both ways
This was super helpful! I knew what thread I should use, but I had no ideas which kind I shouldn't. Sadly, I don't have a sewing machine. Is there a way to sew spandex by hand?
Hi! You can stitch stretch fabrics by hand, but it will be very time consuming😢 That's why we recommend using sewing machines because it will get the job much faster!
Can a twin needle be used on any machine, even older vintage ones?
Oh yea 😀
I don't have the budget for a high-end sewing machine. Will a basic mending machine still work?
❤
thank you so much so sharing this amazing tutorial !! this helps me so much ! May I ask you what's machine you are using for this video ? (brand)?
We used a Bernina 570 Quilter's Edition but you can sew stretch fabrics with any brand sewing machine.
@@WonderFilThreads thank u so much ❤️
How can I cut and see my collar area going from turtle neck to more open collar
I have a b38 bernette none of these tips worked when sewing hems and too band for elastic on a trilobal fabric - help?!
I'm trying to sew stretchy Barbie clothes. I can j u s t make the basic seams sit ok but turning over hems are too thick and then the pressure foot won't move. So frustrating. Thanks for the other tips. Sandra
Can you show how to use the stretch chart for knits on the back of the pattern?
That's a great idea! We can definitely include that in a future video.
