GREAT video. Kudos for a job well done. You included all steps. Talked about everything you did, had plenty of close ups, I can do this job with confidence. Up vote 100+
Great video helped me a lot. But the only thing take some pliers and squeeze the old pads while they're still in the calippers. This will push the cylinders and allow you to freely remove the pad without using a screwdriver, just in case you're not replacing rotors you won't damage them.
is the rear pretty much the same? I'm doing all around rotors, pads, sensors. The sensor "brake wear" went off yesterday at same time as red Brake light also came on. The car is at 75,300 so probably due since brake pads have never been changed on this awesome car
@@Powderfinger308 yeah, the rear is pretty much the same way. Just bolts that go into the hub are on the top, which is actually easier to get to. Just get them off parking brake if you will replace the rotors. Otherwise it can get stuck when you will try to place new rotors. I kept my rotors on, So I didn't have to even remove the calipers.
it's a good practice to do so. right now I not only clean it, but cover it in anti-seize to make it easier next time I'm replacing the brakes, or someone else. didn't pay much attention back then, as long as it was done. live and learn i guess
Thanks for the video, I have to perform same operation on my rear breaks this spring. Are you planning to do the brake fluid flush or coolant fluid flush anytime soon?
Hey! Glad it helped you! I already did a brake bleeding, not a full flush, but I didn't film it as it was urgent. But sometime in a future I will make it into a video, as well as a coolant flush when it comes to that. Thank you for watching!
I was hunting for a good price so parts came from ebay and amazon, whichever had a better price. Like Brambo rotors I got from ebay, at the time I bought them, they were the cheapest on ebay at 97 per rotor.
NYC_Streets718 if you don’t me asking what pads did you go with? I’m looking at a set of Brembo rotors and pads? Any thoughts and difference from the stock? Thanks!
I have just updated the description and places links to the pads and rotors that I have used. but to be honest, I'm not a very big fan of them, they stop well, but when going down a long hill and constantly braking, they don't stop as well and heat up a lot. I would get slotted or drilled rotors instead, doesn't really matter what brand it is. And pads have a lot of brake dust, so I would try something else. I have also listed items that I would use for next time brakes are due.
@@tosyawilldoit check the FCP euro shop for German car parts. They provide a lifetime warranty for everything they sell. So basically you will never have to pay again for rotors or pads
Hi, My pad pins had been glued in, took hours to get discs out. Anyway, I noticed that the brake line connector to the calliper was leaking and now the pipe is snapped, Is there an aftermarket replacement you could advise, please? Great video by the way !
Hello! Thank you! Really sorry for the issue you are having. I just found one brake line on FCPEuro.com but if you are not in the states, you can go to a local dealership and the price from them could be similar or even smaller.
Finally someone that shows how it's done
Glad I could help :)
@@tosyawilldoit and you don't happen to have one where you change the bearings on the same vehicle ?

Thank you for making the video. Flawlessly allowed me to change them out. Thanks again
another helpful video for the DIY crowd. Thank you!

Very instructive. Excellent video! 👍

10:16 - shouldn't the wheel hub be cleaned first?

My touareg came from new york and looks to be the same spec and trim. Is this a 2013 TDI Lux? would be funny if you sold this one to carvana.
It is a 2013 TDI lux lol, with brown interior.
But mine was totaled few years ago.
It's an awesome car, hope you'll enjoy it as much as I did.
@@tosyawilldoit I love my chocolate seats, funny coincidence there.
Hopefully she'll last!
Thanks you... i also broke my breaker bar on the 21mm caliper bolt!
That sucks. Did they stretch the threads?

Do you have the brembo part numbers for the discs and pads ???
I do not remember the part numbers, but I have included links of exact parts I used. I'm away from a computer to check if they still work.
Thank you for watching. excuse me for some mistakes like saying "rotor" when I meant "pads". Hope this will be useful to you.

is this same for v6
Yes, both gas and diesel models have the same brakes.
NYC_Streets718 That is strange, because European models has different brakes. V6 has 4 piston calipers, and v8 6 pistons.
Thanks for the video!
I'm glad it was useful to you!
A little dark, but good video👍
Thank you! The garage I'm renting has no electricity, so battery powered lights is all I get...
