I discuss the story which was focussed on Richter Belmont looking to get his magic abilities back and to prevent the Vampire Messiah from taking over France. I react to characters such as Maria, Annette, Olrox, The Abbot, Tera and Erzsebet. I also give my theories and predictions on who Alucard is and Season 2.

People who didn't know who he was (however few) are now saying "I'm interested in this"
and even the MANY who knew who he was, are still locked in asf. Cuz let’s be honest, we all missed seeing his clean as OP combat
Dude seeing him again was sooo fucking dope. I went back and rewatched all of his dope fighting scenes in the other show. I almost forgot how good that show was.

We finally see how vampires in Castlevania are turned, just like in interview with the vampire and vampire the masquerade, they drain a human of blood and then feed them vampire blood. Still sad for Tera, that poor woman didn't deserve what happened to her. Also seeing Juste Belmont in the flesh was amazing, and my man Alucard is about to show Erzsebet who's the real floating vampire Jesus here.
Gabriel did that to his Son in Lords of Shadow, realizing that it was his own son he fatally wounded.

I mean castlevanias always gone with the classic, common vampire lore. It’s a celebration of old monster movies. So it was always going to be either this way or the bram stoker way
olrox was the best char. i want a full season of his backstory. insanely golden character, perfect in everyway imo
Alucard is now the powerhouse unit in the party. I can't wait to see more of him in the next season

Currently yes but it won't he him for long. It's Clear Annette is being pushed as the strongest of the team. Especially with that spiritual ancestor scene. She's definitely gonna be their sypha. Richter is more than likely gonna end up getting the morning star to help defeat the Goddess too.

@@okaythen1402 Still hope they will develop Maria to Sypha mode as she deserved. At this moment she summoned 3 out of 4 myth animals so I think they’re planning to do something cool with her. The summoning power has the great potential and space to do something creative.
Loved any single moment with this season and the fact they didn’t make Richter immediately unbeatable but vulnerable at times. Annette backstory was great and Maria is portraited as I imagined. It sucks that we have to wait at least over a year to see what the main characters are really capable of. The last battle with Drolta was amazing and she used a Succubus moves from Symphony of the night.

I like the fact that the vampire hunter whip didn't became a one hit kill like in the prior season
What they did is stupid they trained to kill vampires his a fucking Belmont yet his so weak what kind of training did he have how to become a pussy. Trevor is a drunk in first season but his already good at fighting cuz of his training

Man when they played Richter's them in ep 6 when he got his magic back brought back crazy memories from Rondo of Blood! Felt exactly the same when they played Bloody Tears in S2 with that Trevor scene! GOOSEBUMPS!!!!

While I think the overall writing of nocturne was not as strong as the original series I genuinely enjoyed it. The animations and fight scenes were absolutely fantastic and Alucard's entry was super epic. Very much looking forward to season 2.
I liked All the characters, couldn't decide which one is my Favorite.

Maybe or it is other way around, vampire hunters are weak, I mean in the first episode he had trouble killing only three vampires while Trevor Belmont used to kill an army of vampires and night creatures like it is nothing even without magic

In the first 2 episodes, the pacing felt really fast, but after that it really started to pick up, not to mention the insane animation, the staff went all out, can't wait for season 2😊

@@Vagrencompared to the first 2 seasons of Castlevania. Nocturne's episode 1 and 2 are still way finer/slower.
And the pacing of the 1st 2 seasons of Castlevania won't really a deal breaker.

i hope Allucard brought the Morningstar whip for Richter and the Cross Haladie that Trevor Belmont wielded to defeat death, so we can see them kick ass in season 2
At first I didn't like the main cast. Too young, passionate, and directionless; rebels without a cause. The Abbott called them full of "reason" which shows he's also intellectually immature. But when Tera said they're too young and lacking in world experience, then Edouard was turned, I started believing this was deliberate. They were the two mentor figures, and also the older ones who would guide the youth. They already know what they want and how to get it. Though cliché, them dying is almost a narrative requirement.
Then came Olrox and Mizrak. High heavens. They're going down the Isaac route with their "I dare question all I believe in" (Mizrak vs Faith, Olrox vs Love) and "I dare accept that I am wrong" (Mizrak: I act in the name of good, not of god, because gods can be evil) (Olrox: I don't love you Mizrak, so I won't turn you to a vamp. I love you Mizrak, so I won't turn you into a vamp). They're a perfect contrast to the main cast who are still figuring things out and operate on emotion and passion rather than reason and wisdom. Heck, Richter was awakened solely by emotions and just cause he was young.
And we have Alucard to bridge the gap. He is old for a human, 300+ years old, but also young for a vamp. Remember that Vampire Messiah has two meanings; a messiah for the vamps exclusively, or a messiah who is a vamp. That's Sekhmet and Alucard (and soon Olrox) respectively. The middle parts were slow and the plot direction was questionable, but the ending answers so much without stealing all the space from the second season.

Honestly after finishing i still don't like the main cast, i feel like they have no chemistry together and all they interactions together are so dry and angsty, with exception of a few scenes between Maria and Richter. their story lines was so generic and predictable as well it made the show such a snooze to get through.
Olrox , Mizrak and Edouard's story lines seems to be interesting tho, like you said, they're probably the reason i'll be watching the second season just to see what's up.
@@kailin8223 the Annette x Richter romance is also too forced. I mean I know they all just recently met so theyre not going to be open and close, but so did Sypha/Trevor/Alucard.
I'm pinning this on the absence of Adi Shankar. The directors and writers are the same but that guy was the heart of the show.
@@Anonymous121212 yeah I did distinctly feel something was missing , the animation the voice acting was all there but I feel like it lacked a lot of the humor from the first ones and like you said , heart as well.

Richter Belmont's awakening was my favorite scene in the first season also. I think it was on par with the storming of Dracula's castle in the original series. I love how he combines his martial arts with his magic. Those ice gauntlets were so kickass and I love that his fire magic is blue which I think is to indicate that his magic is actually even more powerful than Sypha's or Juste's. Just before that scene when Juste and Richter are talking, Juste explains his magic was so powerful he barely needed the whip. When the Belmonts are captured and facing execution, Richter is faced with the horror of his loved ones being tortured for eternity and that is what pushes him over the edge. It was an excellent super saiyanesk moment to show our lead hero is the protagonist and not just a side character. I love Castlevania, It's my favorite show of all time and I am thrilled they did the new show justice. I can't wait to see Richter, Maria, And Alucard fight together. 🍻

I love how it merges elements from Castlevania: Bloodlines with Rondo of Blood's story. It's like they threw the two of them in a blender and made a Castlevania Smoothie. Drolta Tzuentes really steals the show, tho. I don't think there's a piece of scenery left that she didn't chew. I hope next season kicks half this much butt.
Teras sacrifice is so hard to watch! But Alucard kinda make up for it... maybe?

We all know something bad will happen to her (because mom in Castlevania can't get a break) but it still really hard to watch her turning to a vampire ya know?

Alucard is the powerhouse now in both shows. The one who could go blow for blow with Dracula

Well important thing to note is (at least in the anime) Dracula was much weaker when Alucard, Trevor, & Sypha fought him then what he truly is. He was consumed by grief & hadn't been drinking blood & overall just not taking care of himself. Of course Alucard has had some years to train & grow in power since then but during the fight with Dracula he realistically barely beat him. Dracula was by far the strongest entity in the first anime, I can't say what his power level is compared to the big bad in Nocture though. It's probably pretty close when Dracula was at full strength. Like Dracula is THE GOAT. Erzsebet Báthory before the eclipse is probably weaker then Dracula & if the vampires grow in power with the eclipse which seemed to be the case then Dracula would also grow in power.
I dare say: Not only is this Castlevania series “awesome”, it’s even better than the original. Though the original has some merits,

A remarkable season of a remarkable series. They keep knocking these out of the park, and there really is nothing like it out there right now.
1) Meeting Juste Belmont, aka the first Belmont to use magic, was awesome
2) The theme of "slavery" was so well done
3) "Heroic mothers who sacrifice themselves to protect their children" vs "cowardly/dead beat dads" was an interesting theme
4) Can't wait to see how they adopt the Symphony of the Night plot now that Alucard is brought back into the fold
5) Now that Alucard is back, Dracula will have to eventually come back as his foil...which means...SHAFT! lol
how are we able to see the adaptation of SOTN? like do we expect also for dracula to comeback? hope so

Annette was truly a standout her back story was devastating and it holds impact on the shows theme of trauma. She is an amazing character and my ❤️ favorite from this season hands down. Anette X Richter is the perfect ship🫶🏼🥰✨♥️
I agree her character was great, I just don't liked her interactions with Richter it felt so uncomfortable it's like they are forcing a romance there and it didn't seem natural.
I wouldn’t say that I didn’t like their interactions, but I’d DEFINITELY say that the romance between the two feels forced.
No one here can genuinely say that they had any idea that these two had romantic feelings for each other before the scene in the bedroom.

I did love Nocturne. Not as much as the original show, but I did love it. And in the end, I was expecting Olrox to save them. But when it was ma favorite bby, I squealed louder and longer than ever (to the worry of my dog! 😂😂). The only thing that bothered me - and I mean _really_ bothered - was how Nocturne destroyed some of Castlevania‘s lore, e.g. Annette‘s crosses actually hurting that vampire when they "only“ should’ve messed with his brain.
But I do wonder why Netflix never really advertised any of the shows. They could’ve been among their biggest successes.
In the game when she turns into a vampire, she becomes obsessive and possessive of Richter, basically a vampire yandere

Until episode 6 I keep ask myself when he would appear or where he was. From 7 utill the very end the pacing was so perfect that made me focus on the story and stop asking myself about Alucard. And then BOOM

I'm looking forward to the next seasons (more than the 4 original seasons). We need more stories on the new characters as uts been over 3 centuries after Alucard, Sypha, and Trevor Belmont. My concern was in episode 6 when the vampires tracked down Richter. We saw four vampires rode on horses who came looking for him. the same four were fighting with him in the water, then another two held juste captive (total of six). The next scene showed Richter being held down by two vampires when his whip was collected (back to a total of four) and no vampires behind Juste (just him in chains). Then, when the vampire leader moved closer to Richter, asking him if he's going to beg for his grandfather's life, there were two vampires behind Juste again.I was lost there 🤔🤔🤔 above all, its a good series . I'm looking forward to more seasons.

I guess its just a castelvania thing , in the original serie , the first season had only 4 eps , they didnt specify much about the belmont ,and didnt show much of trevor fighting , in contrary to the second season , they showed great skills of him
In my opinion, i really adored nocturne ,i guess its even better than the original series ,it might be a dark fantasy show but tho it felt warmer to watch , richter and maria are young and vivid ,tera is warm ,annette and eduard are special and strong , juste appeared ,and alucard saved the clan in the end of it all ,i find orlox caracter very complicated i cant say wheter im his side or nah cuz he had his own reasons yet he seemed to be righteous somehow , i actually cant wait for the second season, this season felt more refreshing and less dark and brutal than the original series which felt good to watch ngl

havent played the game and dont have any knowledge about most of the characters that were present in the game and not in the series, only watched the first castlevania and this one. but why did Erszebet ask Maria if she was a virgin and showed maria's despaired look on her face? is it like a hint that she's not? and that she had a terrible past? and what will virgin blood give her? is it the traditional purity of blood?
Guys I have a theory for next chapter hear me out, its possible Juste was taking care of Alucard as he probably put himself to Slumber once again and only to be awakened when he is needed once again.
In an older movie Alucard already killed Bathory the weakling i think it was from the movie vampire hunter or was it carmilla damn i cant remember hehehehe….she didn’t know who she was messing with

Olrox is Alucard. Just my theory
Before ya’ll come at me saying that Olrox is his own character within CV, yes I know this. This theory hinges on the the notion that they might be switching things up in order to connect Nocturne with the Previous CV Netflix series. Plus, it’s just fun to theorize.
Alucard has a history of assuming different identities throughout CV history/literature.
Clue no. 1 - When Olrox’s final appearance almost immediately coincides with Alucard’s appearance.
Clue no. 2 - Olrox’s sexuality.
Clue no. 3 - Alucard is an Anti-Hero. A hopeless romantic one at that. He’s always looking for love and affection however is not above killing if he gets crossed regarding anything love related. (Like when he murdered the chick and the dude who met him on his castle in the previous show)
This perfectly ties up to Olrox’s backstory of why he killed the Belmonts who slayed his love.
Clue no. 4 - Olrox doesn’t want to be seen by the Vampire Messiah, because he knows that she might know of his true identity (because she’s too powerful)
Idk, you tell me if this makes sense.
Bonus Theory:
The Vampire Messiah is Dracula. There’s one point in history where Dracula avoided his death by turning into a Minx (cat-like creature)
I’m too lazy to read up on which timeline this happened.
But in CV, the curse of dracula manifests itself every 100 years, and the Belmonts thruout the years have been there to stop it.
I think the event when Dracula turned to a minx happened before the events of CV Nocturne.

Was concerned in the first episode the voices sounded like they where recorded on iPhones for the first 5 minutes also took some time to adjust to the new voices

@@BrainPilot the story, presentation of the themes and character writing was below average. Annette was insufferable. Overall, the show didnt have time to explore everything it set up so several characters, relationships and moments got rushed to the point, that they become jarring. The witty dialogue and jokes are gone. Not to mention one of the lead creators quite clearly wanted to push his agenda in the show.
Its a 6/10 because its still castlevania. The fighting, animation and other aspects are still excellent, besides a few moments. Its just not really up to the standarts that the first 4 seasons set.

Its pretty crazy. I dont like woke stuff and there are a few woke elements in the show but i kinda enjoyed it despite all that. If a show has something you dislike but still manages to draw you in its a good show. The slavery themes were explained pretty well. Just wish there is less shitposting dialogue. The f bombs 😂
why did people not like this
There are those that are only interested in a very close adaptation to the games or something that can be concidered canon. This group stopped watching Netflixvania after season 2 of the original.
Another group are those that hate it for political reasons, mainly for having black people in it. They just want to perpetuate the culture war. These sometimes like to act as if they are in the former group to hide their true nature.
