@Cole_STP and @DYVisuals of thisisthedream.com head over to the New Balance store in New York City and gather insight as to how their sneakers are made.
First of all I just want to say THANK YOU to the company for providing me with the opportunity to have American made shoes. I have gone through several brands of shoes only to find out that they were low quality and had to be replaced within a year's time. I am tired of throwing away $$$$. Yesterday I bought my first pair (in years) of New Balance shoes and I am one happy customer. I am very happy that I was able to buy American to support American workers. Please continue to keep up the good work!
Thank you so much for liking the video! I am looking forward to working more with your brand! How can we make this happen. We would like to present more better quality videos!
I love New Balance shoes. They are the only shoes that are good to work in by the time I get home from work my feet don’t even bother me.... thank you New Balance
Thanks for your comment, which are the 5 US shoe factories? Are all of them NB shoes, or not? Also checkout American made Okabashi sandals if you haven't yet, they have great reviews. Cheers
New balance 577 especially are some of the most iconic, quality and legendary trainers ever made - really are a top make - USA and Flimby UK - a credit to themselves. 👍
I've been a New Balance only buyer since 2000. I love their products and even moreso that they're made nearby (I'm in NH). I would love it even more if more high-end shoes were made here and if you made some clothes here.
Commitment to manufacturing shoes in the USA is commendable. Anyone who feels that because NB also makes shoes overseas remember that 100% of other major athletic shoe companies' footwear is made in China, Vietnam, Indonesia, etc etc.The fact is there are 5 factories in the USA producing thousands of shoes each day with American Workers....
USA made New Balances (the retro or "classic" models like the 998 and 1300, etc, are probably the best quality sneakers you can buy. The UK ones are great as well. Of course there are also very custom expensive shoes but just in terms of $200 or less shoes from Nike, Asics, Saucony, Puma, New Balance, etc. (everyday sneakers), USA New Balances are probably the best there is.
Where do I buy that marker? Who makes the marker? Daughter needs it for a school project and invisible ink marker would make it. Interesting video. What model sneakers are actually made in the USA?
They left off one important part about style 990, you can't get them wet or else they will smell and the stink doesn't go away. The stink comes from the sole, smells like urine. I called New Balance customer service today and she said "don't wear in the rain, don't get them wet". Who knew if it rains you need to take your NB 990 off and go bare foot.
Martha: I often wonder why women enter the crowded transit system: the buses or trains without real shoes, just a pair of sandals showing their feet. Are they more apprehensive of how there feet smell or if someone accidentally steps or mashed down on their toes? This would be appropriate for the beach or the boardwalk, but in the middle of a city - tacky.
True, he is assembling that shoe for show. The design work is done in Boston or in St. Louis. The materials are ordered and made in the US as well as other countries. A good percentage of New Balance shoes are still made (assembled) in the US. And they are assembled in the US by several US-made materials and some from other countries.
I have a question, anybody knows if NB is 100% made in the USA, or another country because I know the headquarters are in Massachusetts, but I saw a friend's NB made in Vietnam, and I thought were fake.
Hi Rahim.Would you recommend a good quality sneaker manufacture anywhere in the world.I have my designs and i wanna sstart doing some prototypes. Its urgent and i ll appreciate your help
It's taken less than twenty-one weeks for the rubber soles to delaminate, to come unglued. And this happens to EVERY pair of these sneakers. I get them replaced (at reduced cost, but it still costs money since New Balance doesn't stand behind their product. What makes New Balance the only game in town? Nothing provides comfort and support the way that their shoes (sneakers) do. It's too bad that they don't fix the issue of delamination of their soles.
I bought 2 pairs of Nikes. Th first one doesn't have a flat sole and pushes my feet towards the outside and makes me feel weird when I walk. The second pair has bad stitches. I'm thinking of purchasing a 3rd pair hoping it will turn out ok... I wonder what happened to quality inspection -_-
How do you make the parts? That's what I came for. Somebody designed those parts. Then somebody found a way to make those parts. And then they made them. Then sent them to you. Putting prefabbed pieces together is not enough.
Apparently, the glue is pre-applied by the manufacturer on the back of the sole and under the top of the shoe, then activated with heat, vacuum pressed and voilà, job done.

The quality of New Balance has gone done hill over the years. I have a pair I bought 8 years ago that are still great. I have bought 4 more pairs (608) over the past three years. After 6 months the toe flap comes unglued. As time goes on the entire sneaker comes unglued. I am very disappointed with New Balance and not buy any more of their sneakers. I cannot and will not recommend them to any one! However, I sure would like a response from New Balance so I may rectify this situation!
shoe-making process is the same , with the company I used to work . but it was not through compayer , so that they are called automatic uper must first be heated by steam uper first , second laste prepare and check the size , as uploaded by the father's mother is 8EEEE , then input into the uper laste slip through his laste or Japanese language called kabuki , its sloping front check what is not , then straight back or not , to the point of not laste , after that in geauge or wear pattern markers , spends his mole and his geauge engine geauge process should be straight not tilted , air pressure machine geauge its standard 2 to 3 pounds after in geauge , ie crushed or buffing necessary part in buffing , then after it was given the primary , and glue uper and outsolenya , then new process of attachment outsole wear later in the press machine universal pressure with pressure of 40 to 60 pounds , and then input into the freezer , in order to facilitate its opening laste after finishing the process in its very easy no need to discuss : D
New Balance will not accept the sneakers (I'm a long time NB fan) I bought are defective in that the upper is coming out of the heel box after only about 9 months of inconsistent wear. Evidently the glue on these 587's supposedly made in the USA was not up to the job and I am left with unusable shoes and a waste of $125
So its foreign components assembled on American soil. That's explains the way high price. There no better than a $50 pair of whoever's ... new balance feel like your walking on a hardwood floor.
I do like new balance, but this is not a making a shoe from the bottom. That shoes was already made and painted. Not the whole action on making a shoe. Thumbs down.

😃Aaron Dragg ,
So step 1 is to start with a completed sneaker? What did I miss?
Đôi giày đẹp quá.
NB BLOWSSSSS
Awesome video.
The same way you could show how the shoes are just put into their box and also name this how the sneakers are made
Useful info
Where do I buy that marker? Who makes the marker? Daughter needs it for a school project and invisible ink marker would make it. Interesting video. What model sneakers are actually made in the USA?
It will be nice to know as well how they create the upper part. Nice video anyway...
I love new balance they are coming out with a lot more slick designs I have flat and wide feet. So NB got my fit that’s all I wear
Same here. I have to ask you how long a pair of NB shoes has lasted for you because I would like to be able to make a comparison someday. Thanks 😊
I need this one shoes. I liked.

Perty neat
Surely every shoe isn't put together this way, they would be there forever!
Hi Rahim.Would you recommend a good quality sneaker manufacture anywhere in the world.I have my designs and i wanna sstart doing some prototypes. Its urgent and i ll appreciate your help
cool
so what was the construction of the sole?
was that a cement construction?
This is Cemented construction

I will never buy the same brand of shoes if they don't hold up like they should. I bought Nike once. Never again!
is every brand sneakers are made like this?
jordans nike adidas etc?
the girl is hot
kntwing no they are made in huge factorys and that girls is very ugly
Various brands have different methods of making. Adidas and Nike shoes are Injection molded and the best shoe construction is Goodyear welted !!
its more like "how new balance sneakers are assembled"
Let's not forget to mention you cant pick up your customized new balance for another 3 weeks after your initial order NEXT!
weldon thanks
my NB's are comfortable.
All you showed us is how u put the upper on the sole
shawty is mad cute
lmao that guy was so awkward
glue glue glue. This is why my shoes break apart. People keep using frigging glue.
How do you make the parts? That's what I came for. Somebody designed those parts. Then somebody found a way to make those parts. And then they made them. Then sent them to you. Putting prefabbed pieces together is not enough.

Do u think they where the shoe before they sell it lol

Interesting
Ade Broncu 5 .
do you know what kind of glue do they use in bonding outsole, midsole to uppers?
He got fired days after that though lol
he was working too slow...
some are made in England

That's not making a shoes, that's more like putting a shoe together...
If you read a new balance box it says "assembled in America" assembly could simply be putting the insole in the shoe. Plain and simple.
I bought a 1700 Limited Edition Mita and the sole fell off. Had to use Gorilla glue...
Very disappointed with the quality....
surely not every shoe is hand made like that?
Don't quote me, but I believe only the US and UK made ones are. It would only make sense. But... I might be wrong.
New Balance will not accept the sneakers (I'm a long time NB fan) I bought are defective in that the upper is coming out of the heel box after only about 9 months of inconsistent wear. High quality shoes in low quality video.haha
My new balance 860 V8 say made in china
So its foreign components assembled on American soil. That's explains the way high price. There no better than a $50 pair of whoever's ... new balance feel like your walking on a hardwood floor.
well the European New Balance are for sure not made like this. Cheaply made in China or elsewhere
EXACTLY
They don't put made in the USA on them , we support the US workers on their products. These ppl make me sick.
I hate new balance Sneakers design. I love NEW BALANCE ALONE.
This company makes me sick. They tout about their commitment to the US worker & they produce 75% on their shoes in China & Vietnam. It's a sham.
These aren't how they are made. Show the sweat shops with the little kids.
Fake
Lame! Made in China and final assembly in the U.S.
I do like new balance, but this is not a making a shoe from the bottom. That shoes was already made and painted. Not the whole action on making a shoe. Thumbs down.
That girl so unprofessional, 0 confidence & over the top acting
