    I have missed watching your videos SOO very much ! Years ago when I first started doing MP, you were the first artisan I found to watch, and it was even better because my daughter lives in the UK (then and now still ) . A few years passed and I had to stop working ( health) and a few months ago I started back, found you again and actually cried because you were doing mainly CP and I'm not getting into that... I am definite instant gratification kind of gal and can't stand the wait and see LOL But, just last night I decided that I would start doing some bath bombs just to flesh out my B&B offerings and this morning around 4am, I thought " OMG She does that !!! " So, here I am again LOVING your tutorials !!

    Lovely Vday BB, noticed you don't add any oils like almond and if you add Polysorbate 80 you have less stuff on sides of tub. I add kaolin clay, sunflower oil & Bio Glitter Really like sunflower oil it helps with sun damage and aging a light oil great for your skin

    Hi Karen! Those turned out gorgious. Just love bath bombs! Have you ever tried using Polysorbate 80 in your mix? Poly 80 prevents the color from stiking to the side of the tub, and will also emulsify any butters that you may use. I have a limited window of time that I can make my bathbombs due to the high humidity where I live. There are certain ingredients I can not use because they draw moisture into the bathbomb and make them look horrible. But I do use the Polysorbate 80 so that I can use lovely dyes in bath bombs. Give it a try on a small test batch and see what you think. Looking forward to your next video!

    Good morning Karen! These are so pretty and feminine...the FO sounds delightful! Question... When making BB's and using the yummy scents that have a lot of vanilla, do you use a vanilla stabilizer or just stay away from them?? I so love to use those sweet FO's that have vanilla in them but I would hate to have someone open up a "brownish" yukky BB. Lol I know it doesn't do anything to the BB but the prettiness is gone. ; ) I have used vanilla stabilizer but really don't care to in BB's. So, besides trying to color the BB to cover any discoloration or just not use FO's with vanilla...do you have any other suggestions? I see tons of people selling BB scents (like Lush or Etsy for example) with a high vanilla content but never hear if people complain if they get a "brownish" BB. I know it takes a lil time for the discoloration, so I guess all the pictures they take of the BB's are done immediately after they are made and we don't get to see if they discolor later on. If they are used pretty quick, I guess customers wouldn't see any change from the vanilla content but that isn't always the case. I have always wondered how Lush gets away with it at their store fronts...are they covering it with water soluble dyes? When you were talking about the "blue" BB catastrophe, did you use a water soluble dye? For a red BB, what about using Red 33? Sorry for how long this is!! LOL ; ) Love, love watching you create your gorgeous products! Your such a peach...Big ((Hugs)) and Love from Texas!! xoxo

    • @EdensSecret1
      @EdensSecret1  5 років тому +2

      Hi Kelly, I love them too, but I stay away from Vanilla scents, no matter what you do they still go dingy. I do have a non discolouring vanilla from Just a Soap, that doesn't discolour, but it does seize in soap. My soaping friend Nicole says the vanilla stabiliser helps. I would simply use a ton of colour to cover, but that can then create another problem, so I just don't bother. I'd love to do a bath bomb that smells of pink sugar, but we all know that turns brown. I've bought a lot of Lush dupes and they really do discolour. I don't think it's a good idea to have an image of a bath bomb that looks a certain way, for it to arrive with the customer and it be brown. In fact this very thing happened to me this christmas. My beautiful Snowflakes and snowballs was a lovely blue when I made it with Elf Sweat,,,, which went dingy..... not only that but it gets this black spot,,,,, which is NOT D.O.S. I've seen this before in another fragrance I use.... it does not go rancid, but put these black spots all over the soap. And the beautiful hyacinth blue's turns dirty grey/blue, not nice.
      Thanks for your suggestions on the blue's and red's for bath bombs
      P.S. I loved your comment. Something to get my teeth into.

    • @EdensSecret1
      @EdensSecret1  5 років тому +1

      Certainly Sarah, I have plans for that, another promise I've made for 2019
      Water makes your bath bombs harder, I think they float better if you use witch hazel, also using the latter, the citric doesn't fizz away whilst you are making the bath bomb. Using water the citric fizzes more whilst making, so doesn't fizz as well in the bath.

    • @dawndunn3261

      Hi, its SLSA that Karen uses.... Polysorbate 80 is an emulsifier, so it helps the oil and colours to incorporate into the water so you don't get the 'ring' around the bath, and it washes away easier. Hope that helps
