Who'd have thought that permanent 2x battlecry would be a problem?
Even I as someone who last played during Kobolds, only to return right before showdown miniset, could see that Brann was going to be a problem as soon as he was revealed.
I can't really see a viable way for them to balance Brann while keeping 2x battlecry. Especially not when Boomboss exists.
Your fist battlecry each turn triggers twice. I feel it's the most obvious nerf and honestly probably not enough depending on the list. My wild build rarely triggers more than one each turn as it is
@@austinchuilli3652 That would only really affect something like kobold/buster->ox. Everything else you only play one of each turn anyway because they cost 8-9 mana. Doesn't stop the warrior from deleting your deck.

They should have just brought steamcleaner back to the core set, so that warriors would have a chance against plagues at least, but with this change Dk has no chance really. Im a warrior player and I only lost to other warriors since the change. They should have kept the original text as well as adding this one, so that decks like wheel lock can't abuse reno

Disappointing that the Boomboss "nerf" negates wheel, which was one of the best counters against warrior.

In high legend today, 6 out of 7 games I played were against Warrior. The other one was a sludgelock..

Thanks, Zeddy! Making my way up from Diamond 5 to 3 so far no losses with this. You are right, the patch changes have truly made the Reno and Brann cards beasts. Have yet to go up against token Hunter but so far it beats Paladin and DK.
Wondering about the TNT cards. Did they not use to go into your own deck? Now they go in to opponent's deck.. I thought a lot of players would play Boomboss and draw TNT's. Now Boom shuffles the TNT into opponent's deck. Still have not seen a TNT blow up a TNT which is good. Oh well. Still devastating!
they changed it, to shuffle into your opponents deck (used to be into your own) and ofc change the wording, so that TNT cannot blow another TNT
I think hunter is a bit more broken. It beats warrior automatically and also has 50% winrate as it's worst matchup against itself.

It’s worst matchup is flood Paladin but people only listen to what zeddy or vicious syndicate post so decklists go mostly under the radar. Hunter absolutely owns this matchup

Played this deck to legend today and im sure itll still be good after a Brann nerf. Won multiple games in the mirror where I missed on curve Brann and while it was definitely weaker, I enjoyed playing them more. Boomboss is a bit cheesy but they rest of the deck feels like a really rewarding older kind of control I've missed int he game.
I probably beat 3 of the 15+ warriors I faced yeaterday. I was playing taunt warrior and plague DK since these are the decks I can play without a huge dust investment. Literally can’t do enough damage. Insane healing from Ziliac and Dr Boom. Sanitize is still really good +4 armor. Boomboss and excavate award are just game Enders. 😡
if they were to nerf it , what if they say that only one battlecry per turn is doubled ? will it still be to powerfull ? i don't play the deck and when faced it twice i luck out on the rat so i don't know

My suggestion for how to balance Brann, would be to have him summon a location or board object that retains the double battlecry effect. Either make it an object like Rheastraza's Egg or Sargeras' Twisting Nether, so that reno can counter it, or make it a location that doubles all battlecries for a turn with 3 uses, that way it has turn cooldowns and limited uses. That way the card isnt killed out the gate, but is brought more in line with the other highlander cards and can be interacted with by the opponent through anti-location tech like twisting nether and reno.
Brann's effect being a location can also be cleared by a demolition specialist, which may find use in decks at last in that case.
@@user-cd7sy2if8s unfortunately that would only be for Wild, so standard would rely on Reno and Twisting Nether, unless I'm mistaken.
Honestly Zeddy I completely blame you for all of this. You were the 1st person I heard say "Reno should be based around starting deck" and you knew full well if they did it to Reno they'd do it to all highlander cards.
I mean, they didn't need to change the rules clause for ALL reno/HL cards. I think just hitting Reno was fine. There are old cards (eg, Dragonqueen Alexstrasza) that function the old way (if your deck has no duplicates). So Brann could be reverted to that to open more counters.
There's no real reliable counter tho.
Boom boss is the real problem… even without Brann, this guy kills 9 cards total (3 on board, 3 in deck, 3 in hand), this is like third of the deck… with Brann this is annihilation of 18 cards (MORE THAN A HALF OF A DECK), however other board win conditions are okay, no one is surprised by four rush bubble 6/5 zilliaxes on 8th-10th mana nowadays

All quests and battlecries which unlimited aren't healthy for the game. The last nerfs were on good direction, but i want to see more stuff like this for interactive games.
Just beat a druid I had 80 armor and 30 health wasn't even half way thru the deck. I am really enjoying playing this after getting rolled by warlock demon hunter and priest since wizbang came out

I love adding boone to my deck and getting 4 copies of the final excavate card.
Even if they nerf Brann's cost or effect, barring a complete rework, I think he will still see play. I think devs are going to have to nerf Battlecry cards in Warrior to play around him until he either rotates or is completely changed.
What if it was like the one spell priest has where it ends when you don’t play a battlecry minion.
But even then it’s still easy to still play with. They just need to try something

You still have to draw Brann. It's lack of consistency is why it ISNT a problem IMO.
I've played the deck a lot this season pre- and post nerf.. it's fun as long as you don't face plague DK, also it's totally at the mercy of the draw... so many games lost due to key cards at the bottom.. honestly it's no more than a 50% winrate deck imho.

After the last patch that I wrote before in ranked games the complete dominance of warriors, the changes that were made were obviously clearly flawed because now when a warrior plays Brann it's Checkmate, and after putting BoomBoss on the table it's the ultimate Mate for you!
It's like I'm living the same Groundhog Day every time I meet a warrior with the same combination...
he Boomboss card has become even more toxic than before, because now it literally paralyzes any attempts you make to overdraw your deck, and even if you have the courage to do so, you will regret it, you don't stand a chance, you're trapped, from which there is only one way out, and that is the “Surrender” button!
Mind games are out of fashion now, now it's up to the broken deck to spin its combination faster.
It's sad to see the game turned into some cheap thrash comedy followed by a tragedy scenario....

Something that never gets talked about is the business and the employees.
IMO the real problems are at the top because all they care about is $$$$ not the product.A product can be weak/cheap or outright bad but if it is making money the top execs won't care.
I am sure there are MANY real good employees who could do a MUCH better job if given the chance but the top execs will continue and always ruin their products not allowing proper money and teams to bring the games to their BEST form.

I think this deck is just okay. It is no scamming involved, everything works as intended. The other decks are just not strong enough. I find it's a fair deck with strong power level.

A 6 mana do nothing for turn 6 which takes SEVEN turns to setup and actually do something.
No brain decks have taken over the meta and people have stopped using their brains to play hearthstone.

Brann should make your *first* battlecry each turn trigger twice, not all of them for the rest of time forever and always. Compare it to the shaman quest reward hero power, where you still have to pay 2 mana to double one battlecry, and that's only after having first completed your quest.
Reno should poof the whole board, and limit both players to one minion; make it a true high noon showdown.
This reno idea is bloody brilliant. You get a board clear and can still stick to your gameplay. Yeah sounds good

And druid needs a buff. It's so super unfair that druid is the only class that gets countered by every other reno deck. Not only that but rheastrasza is the highest cost card. You can't even copy it in one turn without prep/luck. Even if you do, boomboss will take it away. They should either make rheastraza 7 cost or make it so that Reno can't destroy the nest.

They'll probably give it some time first. Players may not be looking for counters considering that Blizzard once again sent the message that if whiners complain about a deck enough it'll be killed. Time Warp is not a Priest card, a minion, a dragon, or a Standard card. Yet the whiners got Blizzard to treat it like it was that Priest dragon card.

Bran in this deck is a 'Win more Card'. The instant I saw those changes I was thinking that Warrior is going to dominate. Its worst matchup was Wheel Warlock and that got gutted. So now there is nothing to stop it especially with that Boom Boss change.

I dont understand why everyone is saying Brann is the problem . Warrior is such a powerful class right now , you need to get to 6 mana to play Brann and then you can use his ability at 7 mana , however the biggest problem is how effectively warrior can sustain the early and mid game by utilizing all the broken AoEs and board clearance . Then on top of that there is armor and taunts and even busted weapons from ignis . Thats why i get annoyed when im facing warriors , because i dont have the chance to win before them using Brann

Its just because they are closer now to a better balanced game, they increased the power level of card design too much.
I think as you do, but last night i played against 10 warriors streak, then a different deck, a DK, and then another 5 warriors, one after the last one.

Reno is the anti Heartstone Card, it goes agains the Board based Decks. Perfect counter for any Board baesed strategy, handbuff , deathrattle, spellpower. Toxic as F_ck. Bomboss not shuffling the Bombs in a warrior Deck is a very big buff for the Card. Just another toxic Blizzard design change.
My experience after the patch.
Me: Oh nice, I will try some Highlander Shaman, seems to be good according to hsguru.
Game 1: Warrior with Brann on 6 and Boomboss on 8. Deletes my entire deck, hand, and board.
Game 2: A rogue that pumps out an untargetable Zilliax on turn 3 and grows to 40 attack with 8 health, so I can't ever clear that.
Game 3: Hunter that builds ridiculous boards that required me to have 3 or 4 consecutive board clears, none of which I drew.

I had almost the same experience, although I tried a little more of highlander shaman with the 1-9 results. 5 were Reno warriors with brann on curve, 3 were aggro hunters, 1 was stealth zilliax rogue. The current meta is disgusting.

You did not have to look at anything on HRS replay to know Warrior was the best class in game BEFORE the nerf.Zarimi might have been a problem for decks that do not have more than 30 hp Warrior is NOT one of those decks.I just played a War yesterday must have had over 100 HP and that is just dumb as they are abusing the 1/3 that gives armor because Brann makes it 8 armor and with TNT being an OP card all War cares about is outlasting you.
Changing numbers on Brann does NOTHING because EVERY battlecry works there after.
To show how stupid the team is Shudderblock ONLY affects the NEXT battlecry so there is a HUGE discrepancy in Balance then again no surprise there Blizzard NEVER gets it right which is why from day 1 I said the 9...10 class idea was stupid.
Blizzard simply wants to piggy back off of Wow it was afraid to let HS stand on it's own two feet.

I am 29-4 with brann warrior in high legend which is 88% win rate. My only losses were against the mirror and 33% of my matches were against the mirror. Edit: to put this into perspective more... i have played over 20 games against non warrior decks and i won 100% of those games

I can't believe how much of a shitshow this expansion has been. I literally can't win against warriors without warrior or without ratting their brann or boomboss. I think only aggro decks really have a chance against it and they are incredibly boring to play. Good job blizzard!!!!!!!
What’s even the problem with Bran? Like what exactly is he causing to be so “broken”? The only problem I can see is Boomboss and that’s really it. Besides that I’m genuinely confused about the Bran doomposting.
Zilliax spam giving them a shit ton of healing on top of armor and divine shields is also super unhealthy. And let's face it this card need to be deleted just to avoid any crazy interactions with it in the future. Keeping it would be a mistake and limit card design for warrior
Free double battlecries for the rest of the game is the problem. Not so long ago, before rotation, astalor combo was the most infamous one. 28 damage from hand is bad on its own, and the worst part is that warrior has another astalor with 28 damage in hand. Using zola gives you another two.
Astalor is just one example of a card that clearly wasn't designed to be used multiple times throughout the game, more so with its double battlecries.
went like 1-10 with this deck this morning, its not very good. I mean most of my losses were lucky garbage because thats all HS is these days but still. I mean how does a hero power druid just happen to get a 1 mana odyn. Who tf knows but the second he played it i died to a 26 dmg hit from a druid -.- . Stuff like that just all morning long.

I'm in low legend atm and have been playing since launch. I could take other factors into consideration too that show I'm far better than most players. But I'm pretty sure I know how to play this game.
