    Man genetics go crazy these athletes are highlighting their struggles and journey to go under 48 (which is still absolutely insane) and I just watched some highschool 2A guy go 46.5 in a 4x4 only hours after jogging a 48 flat to win state😭😭
    Seriously tho you guys are insane I could never run under 54 much less under 48

    It's been a great season! I'm glad I found this series very early on. I'm grateful to follow your journey and I cant wait to see what else you can do! That was awesome that you got to run a final 4x400 and got to run with some very fast people, at least your last school race was a school record too! Not reaching a final goal can hit hard but you've put in so much work so don't forget about your journey! Congrats on graduating! I just graduated from high school and can't wait for college, I won't be running on a team but I'll look out for clubs. You did perfect on that pronunciation too man! I followed this channel cause the series but I'm gonna have to stick around for a bit longer for some great content. Keep up the great work as always!

    I’m a 400m sprinter like you. Can you help me program my off-season from June to March? Indoor season in Minnesota is from December to March. My PR is 53.15 in the 400m and 24.28 in the 200m, so I definitely am focusing on improving max velocity this off-season. What would a weekly schedule look like for me in your opinion? For indoors, I am running unattached, so I will probably not do the earlier meets in order to have more time to work on max velocity. I really enjoy your videos and hope you keep uploading these helpful and entertaining videos!!

    Now that your season is done, how long is your training break? When does the summer training start?

    • @SimonShawk5
      @SimonShawk5  4 місяці тому +1

      I am taking one week completely off, and then one week very light. Then I'll be back full swing. However, I'm planning to make the training videos monthly updates moving forward, instead of weekly ones, possibly with more frequent updates on other platforms like Instagram, so the next full sub 48 vid won't be till the first week of July

    You are fast af with good form. The only weird form thing I see is that your right arm stays fully extended when you start sprinting, while your left arm has a 90 degree bend. You probably need to keep more of a 90 degree bend with your right arm to stay balanced.

    • @Trackoholic

  • @joshiwashi4297
    @joshiwashi4297 4 місяці тому +1

    You mentioned that your right arm stays straight in one of your previous videos; Is your right side not as relaxed as your left side? Is your lower arm too close to your hip? Or maybe your shoulder is supinating instead of just going back? Try to consult your coach or experiment to see the problem.

    • @joshiwashi4297
      @joshiwashi4297 4 місяці тому

      9:39 Idk what you did different here but your form here is normal, you only have your arm straight when you’re accelerating.

    • @SimonShawk5
      @SimonShawk5  4 місяці тому +1

      Man I wish I knew what I did differently 🤦🏻‍♂️ sometimes it's totally normal and sometimes it's horrible
      I think it has to do with intensity level, if I'm trying to be very aggressive and powerful it tends to straighten out and if I am being more relaxed and smooth it tends to bend more
      I definitely could carry more tension in my right side. I could also have a bad arch on my left foot, which is pretty likely based on past injuries. I'll experiment heavily over the summer and get it fixed up one way or another

      Run xc wile doing weight training and Plyos. You won’t be good at xc but it’s an investment. Than once track season comes around split your time by taking days with the sprinters and a few days with distance.

      Hey, thanks for watching! My best 400m is 49.81, with, as you saw, a split of 48.5 multiple times in the 4x4. I think I probably could've run 49 low if I had a couple more open 400m races but that doesn't matter now! Nothing to do except put my best effort into my next year of training
