Thanks for this feature. Being able to load our own music will be nice in the future but this is very helpful to get us started.

@@StreamYard you risk that when you upload videos to play on your broadcast. We do a weekly show that is music oriented. We have guest stars on and we show their videos. Most of which are copywrited but we know what to do to get the needed permission. I have been asking since the beginning to be able to play music and I'm glad to see that feature is being added but it really doesn't do someone like myself any good if we can't play our own music or the music of our guest. I guess I'm having a hard time "buying" the reason being given when that risk is the same when we upload videos.
@@tazziemae outside of adding background music from the studio, if you have a mixer or virtual audio setup, you can run your music in you stream as well. Have you tried either of those options?

This is a great feature - but please 🙏 it would be so much better if we can use our own tracks of music sometime in the not to distant future

This is fabulous! I'm already using the feature in my podcast. What I am hoping for in the future is that we have the ability to add non-copywrite music in the same way. Currently we would have to load it in a movie (video) file and play (the way Kirk Nugent has shown us to) that way.

You can also bring in the audio from a mixer, virtual audio routing cable, such as VoiceMeeter or Loopback as well.

Are you asking for different music? You can either add your own through hardware or third-party software, or use the background music tracks we've added.

That's a good start. Thank you stream yard for adding music for our live streams. My only question is: Will we ever get a copyright notice from UA-cam if we play any of these tunes during our live stream?
You shouldn't. Hence why you cannot upload your own music at the moment. It's all about figuring out licensing.

You can upload your own music to a third party site and just play the music through the Google Chrome. Then all you have to do is share the tab as well as click share audio.
That is another option. Just make sure you own the copyright to whatever audio you're sharing.

That sucks no able to play our own music one question is this music royalty free ? I don’t want a copy right
Remember, this is v1 of background music. We're working on adding more features.
Keep in mind, royalty free is a lot easier to manage, whereas uploading music you've purchased a license for requires you to whitelist it and go through content checks with the platforms. In short, there is a lot more to it.

Does anybody else have a problem with the background music while going live? Every time I play a track, my mic signal starts cutting on and off (like stuttering). I have the hyperx quadcast microphone and this is the first time I’ve found a bug with the SY platform.
I love the new add! But I can’t use it though lol
Have you checked if you have any ducking or effects enabled on your microphone?
What happens when you use your built-in mic as well?

P.S. - the Presonus Revelator io24 is the best audio interface for anyone wanting 2 mics in a stream or podcast. Bar None.
When I go live, sometimes I play music for hours without talking about what's wrong with the copy right.😳😳😳wait for your reply.
What are you asking? You play music for hours. Is it music you own the rights to? Did your music get flagged?
