The saddest thing about Peeta is he will never remember how much he loved Katniss before this 😭
I like to think that he found his way back to it, over time, bit by bit 😥
I think the saddest thing would be they literally made him into someone he's not, and we knew that was his worst fear :'c like, he was even fine with dying as long as he died as himself, and they took away not only his love for Katniss, but his family, his district, all that made him himself. Not trying to pick up a fight! Just crying because our boy is so precious, and obviously didn't deserve any of it. I'm guessing it was similar with Katniss? This all began 'cause she didn't want her sister dying in the games, yet she still lost her 😢
hm idk about that cause they end up together and have kids and he ask Katniss if she loved him so i think he know that he loved her a lot or he wouldn't have ask her that

The reason Katniss hates coin so much is cause while Prim has medical potential, she's neither old enough nor qualified enough for the HEAD position. Coin gave her the position on purpose so she could be sent out when teams need help when ordinarily, she'd be too young to be at the front lines where a bomb just went off.Then in Mockingjay part one, Gale suggests they drop a bomb, wait for people to come help and then drop another to kill more people. So, Coin killed Prim and tried to make it seem like Snow did but Katniss recognized Gale's idea. Thats what she meant when she asked if the bomb was his.
Plus it explains a little further detail that Prim was a year or two too young to be out in the field and Katniss figured that the only person that would have had the authority to authorize her going out into active war zones was Coin.
I always thought she killed Prim to get Katniss to agree to a capital version of the Hunger Games. Coin looked too pleased with herself when Katniss said yes

Sweet fact: Katniss and Peeta's kids were played by Jennifer Lawrence's nephews. Apparently the older boy spent a lot of time on set and formed a sweet bond with Josh Hutchinson :3
Honestly that was the best ending Peeta and Katniss could've had after everything.

explanation for the bombing:
Coin disguised one of their aircrafts as a capitol aircraft, and send the parachutes as the first bomb. The second bomb was delayed, allowing medics (including Prim) and other civilians to come in and help the children- then it went off. And this was all Gale's idea. Actually, in the raid of District 2, he suggested something similar. Easier to pick up on second watch through. Hope this helps! :D

Gale never deserved Katniss. Not at all after he couldn't even apologise and express his compassion properly after his plan killed Prim.
I wish they explained it better in the movies I understood cause I had read the books at the time. But I feel like the weight of the double bomb and the fact that it was his idea gets a bit lost.
Was the second bomb supposed to be delayed or was that a mistake?
@camilag2686 No, that's how it was designed. The first goes off, then the second after a minute when others come to aid, so it takes out even more people unfortunately.

I always gotta through this quote to those that don't know cause it's just so beautiful. “Peeta and I grow back together. President Coin is such a great choice for a name because snow and coin (different sides of the same coin) are both as sadistic of eachother. Also the way they talk about Katniss is similar too. She is "valuable" an "asset" "a symbol". They talk about her like property.

The thing I love about the scene where snow is told Katniss is still alive is how his face lights up. once he thought she was dead, it was almost like he had nothing else to really live for. So he said good night.
Finnick's death pissed me off so much. My man was sweet the entire series and helped everyone. How can they just leave him alone after he saved all their asses... he just got married too 😭
Peeta's dad was the baker. In the books there is a lot of symbolism of him being "the boy with the bread" and "the baker's boy." Because he is the one Katniss needs to survive. It's not super deep; his name is is basically "pita" bread.
The name of the world "panem" comes from the Latin expression "panem et circenses" which means "bread and circuses". Peeta is the bread and the Hunger Games are the circus.
Anyway his dad and his mom are dead. But his mom was abusive so we kind of don't care about her.

i love peetas dad, i wish they'd kept in the scene of him bringing her cookies in the first movie, in my head cannon thats something he does for all the tributes before they go and i feel like that gives some deeper insight on how peeta grew up cuz we only ever saw his shitty mother
I always thought it was funny that his name was Peeta and he was a baker, but I bullied him for it. I thought it was an unintentional, bad name.
@@rosaliepicard7536 honestly going back and rereading the books as an adult as opposed to being 12/13 the first time around you notice alot that you might've originally missed lol, would definitely recommend, basically everything in the book has some meaning behind it
I noticed something interesting in Lakia's reaction to Catching Fire. After the man in 11 is shot during the Victory Tour and Katniss/Peeta/Haymitch are arguing about her changing the speech and offering Rue's family food, Peeta says "I have family too!" (meaning he's concerned the Capitol will go after his parents/siblings). But then in the Games, when they're on the beach and he gives her the locket with the photos of her mother, Prim and Gale, Peeta says "If you die, I'd have nothing. No one left I care about." 🧐Does he care about his family or not? We can obviously deduce that his mom is abusive from the first movie/book. But I felt that was a bit of poor movie writing.
Katniss singing at the end made me feel so conflicted as well. We are happy to see her finally having a peaceful life, but at the same time so sad because of how she had to obtain it. That combination of happiness and sadness is such a raw emotion that you can't help sympathizing with her.

In the books it was acctually a school friend of peetas that spoke to him in d13 cos anyone even connected to katniss would make him go crazy

First off i wanna say that Finnick's death breaks my heart TO THIS DAY!!!! But i can explain the bombs for you. Because the books explain the story better. So in the books, When they were at district 13, Gale was put on a war team to help design bombs & combat strategies. So he helped in the creation of some of those bombs. So when Katness said "The delayed bomb.......was that yours?" She was basically asking if Gale made the bomb that killed Prim. In the books, Prim took after her mom with having a knack for medical treatment and nursing ppl to health. So i'm not surprised that she ended up on the medical team of the rebellion. What surprised me is that Coin dispatched Prim and the other medics JUST after the first bomb.... only to be killed in the second explosion.... Now that i'm explaining this, i think Coin killed Prim with Gale's bomb.🤔

Oh yeah, Coin definitely sent Prim to get killed, expecting that her death would leave Katniss too hurt/weak to run for presidency or become a bigger threat to Coin's position.
the ending is bittersweet bc it’s about war - there’s no winners, only survivors - but it just hurts so bad 😭 everlark is my ultimate OTP and they’re so important to me, when you posted you were gonna react to the hunger games I just knew you were gonna eat it up like they’re the definition of soulmates

I read the books first. And I BROKE when Katniss screams at the cat and starts to grieve her sister. And then I watched the movie and I broke again. Lawrence is such a good actress.
Also, in the books Finnick dies a really quick death and is somehow never even mentioned again until the ending. Kinda made his death even worse. I was REALLY mad for a long time about that.
Honestly I had to put the book down when Prim died, cus there just wasn't no damn way. 😭

Every time I rewatch the series or a reaction, I get extra emotional at the first reaping because I know how utterly futile it all was...the volunteering, the repeated sacrifices to keep her safe. Prim deserved so much better. Everyone did.

District 2 holds most of the capitol's weapons, heavy artillery and most of the peacekeeper army. That's why they have to control it before attacking the capitol.

The Tigris scene hits a lot harder after TBOSBAS, like Tigris and Snow were literally cousins and raised together like siblings by their grandmother, they clearly loved and cared for each other as children...and then he became who he did. For me, when I was reading the prequel book and seeing the film adaptation, what hit me hard was how Tigris was clearly trying to help him become NOT like his father, but in the end she knew she lost that battle; the whole film she calls him Coryo, and then at the end she says "You look like your father, Coriolanus" - it just broke me.
Literally all Peeta wanted for him to stay himself and for the capital not to make him a pawn and all Katniss wanted was for Prim to survive. And those two exact things ended up happening to them🤮😭
And even Susan Collins the author regrets killing finnick so in my head it just didn’t happen🤷🏾♀️🫢

I mean, yeah, killing Snow is not going to change the system, that's why they're having a whole rebellion 😜
Snow was not president when the hungergames first started, he would have been a baby then, if he was even born yet, (remember, there have been 75 hungergames, so 75 years) and the whole system of capitol and districts existed before then, since the hungergames were a punishment for another rebellion. This whole system has been a thing for a century, maybe more. Just removing Snow is only going to leave a spot open for the next dictator to step up.
In the books it's focussed on more, but yes, Gale was helping with designing weapons in district 13.
In the movies it's basically glossed over, like they almost gloss over Finnick's whole speech about how he was trafficked and SA-ed, but Gale was talking about bombs that go off twice, once to kill and wound people, and a second time to kill and wound the first responders, which would be medical personnel most of the time. Which is a war crime btw.
Gale's point of view is, they are allowed to do whatever, so long as they win. Katniss goes against this, she says that that would excuse anything, including killing children in hungergames to keep the districts in line, but Gale does not really change his opinion. He wants to do whatever is necessary to win.
Now that I think about it, the bomb design scene might not even be in the film at all, the conversation about doing anything and everything to win took place in district 2. But that illustrates my point I guess, either there was no scene about bomb design, or it was so insignificant you forget about it immediately.
All of that is also a major reason to hate Gale, Gale is cool with war crimes (killing civilians and first responders on purpose with his double bombs), Gale is cool with genocide (destroy all exits and air supply tunnels etc into a mountain so an entire district suffocates to death underground), Gale is not a good person. Is his hatred and anger understandable? Oh yes, definitely. But that doesn't make it okay.
Peeta has the same, and probably even more, reasons to be angry and hateful. And he tries to stay understanding and loving and empathetic.
And yeah, everyone started the movies with C-PTSD, and even with even more PTSD on top, if they even survived at all. It's a bitter sweet ending.
Snow lives through all the hunger games and even wasn't a fan of them.
While he started to get older he developed this idea that the games are a way to have a war that is controlled by then and with that
making sure that the capitol would never fall again.
He went from someone who didn't watched nor enjoyed the games to make them the spectacle that are during the saga.
So yeah, if people can grow to become snow you need a little more than just kill one person, you have to take all the system down.
