HA! Glad to see I'm not the only person who watches his coverage, after the fact, from far outside his coverage area. Greg Fischel is OK here in Eastern NC, but Captain Suspenders is frigging unbelievable. And a true civil servant - hell of a guy, and damn good at what he does.
Tracy Frederick you don’t really want to it’s exciting but it can get pretty scary I’m from north Texas right in the heart of tornado alley that moment when you feel that sudden temp change will really make your butthole pucker lol
Start at 26:45 At 3:40 p.m. CDT, the Reform/Fayette Tornado would touch down about 1 mile west of the center Reform, AL (technically in city limits). This long-tracked tornado would be on the ground for over 1 hour. Strongest damage was in NW part of Reform, AL, on 4th Avenue NW and also on 9th Avenue NW. Rating: EF2 Max Winds: 115 mph Width: 600 yards Total Miles: 31 miles (1 hour 6 minutes) Average Speed: 28 mph Counties: Pickens/Lamar/Fayette Counties Start: 0.8 mile West of Reform, AL. Just E of the 7th Avenue SW & 11th Avenue SW intersection or West of Elementary School. End: 6 miles E/SE of Bluff, AL, at 4:46 p.m. CDT. Just W/SW of U.S. Hwy 43 & Housh Chapel Road intersection.
This was with Hurricane Harvey which already caused tornadoes and Flooding damage in Houston and Texas plus Louisiana and than Mississppi, Alabama and Tennessee and also there was a Tornado watch for North Carolina from Harvey
This is a perfect example of an ''invisible funnel''. There was clearly a tornado there, just not visible. That's why when they see a wall cloud from very far away + a clear signature on radar they consider there is a tornado on the ground even tho there is no funnel visible.
*You know the deal, respect the polygon.*
If James Spann comes on the air and you can see his suspenders you need to respect his warnings.
Underrated Fujita Rating
I live nowhere near Alabama, but I live for his reports. He’s the absolute best
Wish we had him up here in Wisconsin. Knows the geography and just about every town.
Sam Kaufmann that's what happens when you've been in the business for more than 20 years
Hell yeah, totally agree
What’s there to know about WI? It’s either east of the dells or west of the dells.
@@johnshottie4415 whether or not u can pronounce all the lakes/towns w native names..hehe
@@coo4231 lake leinies and lake Miller lite. That about covers it.
Excellent coverage as always. I'm a James Spann junkie from Kansas. Wish we had somebody like him here.

I don’t live anywhere Alabama but I absolutely love listening to this guy myself
Not tornado related, but wondering if anyone knows the story of the face in the window of the Carrollton courthouse?
28:37 tornado on the ground
CLC..
There's a new acronym I wasn't familiar with, but will remember and use.
(Creepy Looking Clouds)
There is a different one for the same meaning, SLC meaning Scary Looking Cloud(s)
on the ground for 31 miles touched down in reform

Quick to get this out, I watched it after the tornado came through, nice to see what happened before.

Can you please do more videos of ABC 33 40 tornado warning coverage ,2015 2016 2017 2018 2019 2020 all of them
Why is it that Pickens County get tornado warning every time a tornado sneers at Alabama
It sure seems that way
@@lanecore75 Pickens County is on the Alabama/Mississippi state line.
Very good signature on radar for a tropical tornado
How are you
I’m from Texas and our reporters aren’t as good as James. Wish he was here
Right
“Hangin in there like a rusty fish hook” 😂
Um, why at the beginning of the video at velocity, why was the couplet green and blue instead of green and red?
It depends on what way the station wants to show the velocity. For me, if you can see where the Tornado is, they're good.
Lightning was really bad I thought I was gonna die🤣😂
@Brett Alt where did he disrespect James??
On the tornado impact, what number is the threshold for being significant?
I think an F3 and higher are considered severe tornadoes, but any tornado is potentially very dangerous.
@@APOCALYPSE_X-MEN EF 2 and EF 3 are strong Tornadoes, EF 4 and EF 5 are violent. Not sure what constitutes a long track tornado though
At 1:13:47 they accidentally show what I'm assuming are bodies...sad...
Oh my god, thats terrible.
They were people watching the eclipse. It said it in the text message. Not a dead body.
