  • In this video I’m fishing for North Sea Haddock aboard the wonderful Rachel May out of Fraserburgh skippered by Gordon Morrison. Boat angling is one of the many different aspects of angling that I really enjoy. Gordon put us right on the marks and it didn't take long for the rods to bend and we were all catching the Haddock. Nice to be able to bring home some of the better fish.
    We had a most enjoyable blether about fishing in the wheelhouse on the way out to the mark.
    Gordon has a video on a home made fish smoker on his channel which has given me a few ideas for my own small scale smoker.
    Hope you enjoy the video and as always if you have questions or comments please put them below. Tight lines, Phil.

      There will be more sea fishing as the year progresses. I did have a short session shore fishing but drew a blank on that one. Cheers.

      Thanks 👍. You do need good 'sea legs' up in this part of the world. I'll be adding a lot more varied angling content to the channel as time goes on. It will reflect my interest in every aspect of angling. Phil.

      Thanks for subscribing 👍 The boat skipper Gordon really knows that area and is very knowledgeable about the fish and their movements. Nothing like a good Haddock for your tea. Thanks Phil.

    Great video Phil. Nice haul of Haddock, great boat, and the fishing trip prices are reasonable! I'd love a trip out on Rachel May but wrong end of the country for me! Tight lines, stay safe & well. 🎣🎣👍👍

      Thanks Trampster. Rachel May is a boat and a half that’s well suited to some of the lumpy seas we get up here. I’ll be having more trips out on her during the year. Tight lines mate🐟🐟🐟🐟

    Nice video Phil, I also enjoyed my day out on the boat after an absence of 30 years since my last boat outing. Good skipper, good boat and nice bunch of like minded anglers. Nice to see a couple of women joining in the fun too. Can't wait till my next outing and I wish you well with your channel,

    Enjoying the allrounder feel of this channel mate. Far too often angling channels are focused solely on one aspect of the sport. That being said, I'm looking forward to the Fly fishing sessions!

      Glad you like the variety. I like all aspects pf angling and enjoy sharing the adventures. Look out for Fly fishing (although you'll need to cut me some slack when you see the casting). Have some kayak and small boat sessions planned for when the weather improves. Thanks again. Phil.

      Thanks. It was £35 for an adult using own tackle but bait was available on board. Follow link in description for up to date prices and online booking.

    I thought all those haddock were a bit small to keep?

    • @anotherangleUK
      @anotherangleUK  Рік тому

      There's a measure aboard to check they are in size. Anything below limit was returned. 👍

    I hope you put those fish back, they are way too small. No wonder these marks are getting fished out.

      Aye, small fish returned and only the in-size taken. Skipper definitely keeps an eye on this. 👍

    Those haddock look awfully small, a larger size limit should be imposed and stuck to rigidly (30cm is too small) to improve the fish stocks !!

    • @anotherangleUK
      @anotherangleUK  Рік тому

      Thanks for the comment. The minimum size limit is 35 cm for boat caught ones, the skipper will tell anglers to return smaller examples.
