    Basic Larynx expansion exercise applied to 8 easy high C / C5.
    I’m still working on the video to answer many of the questions about technique that I receive on social media every day. My students really keep me busy but I am very happy to see the wonderful results on each of them.

      Absolutely agree. This floats the larynx down and allows the air to pass easily.....once again another brilliant teaching...Bravo!

      Stay in the position like you haven't seen a good friend in 10 years and suddenly you see them. Stay in this position even while you are exhaling/singing. This keeps the larynx down. This is something Joan Sutherland suggested and works well too.

      Wow qué maravilla!! Algún tiempo estudié canto, hace más de 20 años con el profesor, Mtro. Enrique Jasso Mendoza (q.p.d.), hijo de Mercedes Mendoza, alumna del maestro Pierson. Fue contemporáneo de Rosita Rimoch e Irma González. Mi maestro fue uno de los últimos en enseñar con técnica e interpretación antigua en Ciudad de México, hasta donde supe. Algunos de sus alumnos son Francisco Araiza, Rolando Villazón, Noé Colin, Estrella Ramírez (q.p.d), Bertha Granados, entre otros. Algunos de ellos reconocidos y felicitados por Joan Sutherland. El maestro amaba y vivía para la ópera con pasión desbordada. Fue muy conocedor de varias técnicas y sus secretos, aunque guardaba lo mejor para un selecto grupo de sus alumnos. Con él se disfrutaban historias del debut de María Callas en México, Helena Souliotis como invitada, Eva Marton cuando hizo Turandot en Bellas Artes, él fue su padre en la trama y Plácido Domingo fue Calaf, de quien admiraba mucho sus magníficas interpretaciones y su talento como músico. Verdi, Puccini, Bellini, Donizetti, Rossini y Mozart eran de sus compositores preferidos. Su mamá y sus aventuras en la ópera Europea eran su orgullo y adoración. Una mujer que se superó un mil por ciento. Un sinfín de vivencias y conocimientos.
      Es un gusto conocerte, Giancarlo. Soy tu nuevo seguidor!

    • @giancarlomonsalve
      @giancarlomonsalve  Рік тому +4

      Hi! Thanks for your comment. In the video, I explained that the pharyngeal expansion exercise involves starting with an inhalation, holding the air, and then exhaling while maintaining the expanded pharyngeal space. It's important to avoid any tension or strain in the neck and throat area. Instead, focus on allowing the expansion to occur naturally as you exhale. It may take some practice, but with time and patience, you should be able to feel the expansion in the pharynx.

    I have some question. What are the benefits of exercises like coughing in the early part of the video? How does our body change when we do this exercise?"

    • @giancarlomonsalve
      @giancarlomonsalve  9 місяців тому

      Certainly! it's important to clarify that this is a not a coughing vocal exercise, but open throat exhalation without glottis closure. Such exercises can help relax and open up the throat, preparing it for more controlled vocalizations. It promote a sensation of space in the larynx, aiding in resonance and tone quality. When you perform this exercise, your body encourages a relaxed and open vocal tract, which can be beneficial for singing and vocal control. It's crucial to incorporate a variety of warm-up techniques to prepare your voice for optimal performance. 👍🏻

      @@giancarlomonsalve Oh, I see. Thank you. Well.. I have another question. In another video, you mentioned that the tongue should move forward and touch the lower teeth. However, during the pronunciation of 'E(æ)'my tongue naturally rises and retracts backward. In this case, should I force my tongue to exert pressure to make contact with the lower teeth, or should I let it stay relaxed naturally?

    ¿Cómo carambas se puede inflar así la laringe? ¿Eso es adecuado para cualquier tesitura? ¡Gracias y saludos!

    • @giancarlomonsalve
      @giancarlomonsalve  9 місяців тому

      Hola, gracias por tu pregunta. Es importante aclarar que no se debe "inflar" la laringe al cantar, se debe expandir en una posición baja y no presionada ya que esto puede causar tensión vocal y problemas en la voz. La técnica vocal adecuada se basa en el control de los músculos de la garganta y la resonancia adecuada. Esto es válido para cualquier tesitura y es esencial para un canto saludable. Te recomendaría buscar un maestro de canto experimentado para obtener orientación y mejorar tu técnica. ¡Saludos y gracias por tu interés! 🎶😊

      Thank you for your comment! It's important to understand that proper breathing technique is essential for singing, and it can take time to master. If you're having trouble feeling movement while breathing, it could be because you're not engaging the right muscles. I would recommend trying some exercises to target your diaphragm and intercostal muscles. As for the lasagna offer, that's very kind of you! While I can't accept it virtually, I would be happy to help you with your singing through online lessons or coaching sessions. Don't hesitate to reach out if you're interested! And if you come to Lucca, let do also the Lasagna! 😅

Sou a prova viva disso, já que canto essas notas por pelo menos 7 horas todos os dias nas minhas aulas, e minha voz continua fresca. O mesmo acontece com meus alunos. Pode ser desafiador no início, mas com a prática diária, você começa a desenvolver essa técnica e evitar problemas de garganta.
