his and zukerman's renditions of this movement are both very elegant, but done in different ways. i like shaham's a bit more...

The conductor/harpsichordist looks so proud and haughty like Mr Darcy in Pride and Prejudice but maybe he is actually kind like Darcy
@weirdnwonderful This is just my take on it, but I believe he makes the shifting obvious to add to the character. I occasionally am told by my teacher to do that because baroque music sounds baroque by somewhat exaggerating the shifts involved.
Oh I've heard the opposite. I'm pretty sure exaggerating shifts is a Romantic thing since it adds a slight portamento to the notes.
