Alone in my sorrow and dead in my sin
Lost without hope with no place to begin
Your love Made a way to let mercy come in
When death was arrested and my life began
Ash was redeemed only beauty remains
My orphan heart was given a name
My mourning grew quiet my feet rose to dance
When death was arrested and my life began
    Oh, Your grace so free
    Washes over me
    You have made me new
    Now life begins with You
    It's your endless love
    Pouring down on us
    You have made us new
    Now life begins with You
Released from my chains I'm a prisoner no more
My shame was a ransom He faithfully bore
He cancelled my debt and He called me His friend
When death was arrested and my life began
    Oh, Your grace so free
    Washes over me
    You have made me new
    Now life begins with You
    It's your endless love
    Pouring down on us
    You have made us new
    Now life begins with You
Our savior displayed on a criminal's cross
Darkness rejoiced as though heaven had lost
But then Jesus arose with our freedom in hand
That's when death was arrested and my life began
    Oh, Your grace so free
    Washes over me
    You have made me new
    Now life begins with You
    It's your endless love
    Pouring down on us
    You have made us new
    Now life begins with You
    Oh, we're free, free
    Forever we're free
    Come join the song
    Of all the redeemed
    Yes, we're free free
    Forever amen
When death was arrested and my life began
    Oh, we're free, free
    Forever we're free
    Come join the song
    Of all the redeemed
    Yes, we're free free
    Forever amen
When death was arrested and my life began
When death was arrested and my life began
When death was arrested and my life began

Yeah that was great guys! So good to see you worshiping together. I would definitely love to learn about what was being played on the electric guitar, the accompaniment was perfect!! God bless you both! I will continue to keep your ministry in prayer and I definitely enjoyed that video style.

Best version of this song I’ve seen so far. It drives like it has the potential to. Most of the time the way the drums are played they suck the energy from the song. Nicely done.

Would you make more videos like this, and some tutorials on playing solo electric with an acoustic?
I'm in this situation often and feel like I either over or under play.

    • @TheBryceSheehan
      @TheBryceSheehan 8 років тому +5

+Josiah Robinson Hey man! I totally understand your situation. I hope Brian and I can come out with more videos like this, too!
One thing I was trying to accomplish with this type of setup (acoustic and electric only) was to cover as much ground as possible. What I mean by that is playing bigger, six-string chords whenever possible - even if it means playing different chord shapes than Brian. He was capo'd, playing G-shapes, and I was uncapo'd playing B-shapes. Also, use drive sparingly. I only had a tube screamer on with the drive all the way down, and the level just above unity volume to give it a tad of grit. I used quarter note delay, but I had the mix set low, and the repeats set a little longer to give it more of an underlying pad effect. I also had a decent amount of modulated reverb from the Boss RV-6 (KILLER pedal for $150).
That's a lot of info, but I hope it can get you going in the right direction. For more upbeat songs, I might use a pinch more drive, and slighty more present delay, but that's about it =)
      Peace,
      Bryce

The video makes sense if you're capo'd, but there was no Key or fret position for the capo. Watching the lead guy I figured out it was a I V VI IV in B. I would suggest putting the actual chord in parentheses or something so that someone can see what different chords work together as opposed to everything being just G D C and Em. Great song though:) very powerful:)

Love this song. You guys do a great job with it. Although, it seems like you're adding a measure between each line in the verses. I'm not talking about the one measure of 3/8, but an extra measure of 6/8.

    • @elshaddai87
      @elshaddai87 2 роки тому

The verse seems to go 6/8, 3/8, 6/8, 6/8. The chorus is straight 6/8 as far as I can tell.

  • @jeffmcleod2855

Is the electric guitarist playing in open B or just playing in the key of B? Big difference. Open B infers that the guitar is tuned to an open B chord. He seems to be playing some regular barre chords so I think he's in standard tuning.

it isn't autotune, but his voice is going through reverb to simulate an open setting
