  • The best restaurants in Cape Breton + awesome Cape Breton craft beer!
Trip inspiration for the new year! Cape Breton isn't just a stunning island of landscapes, beaches and incredible fall colours! The Ceilidh and Cabot Trail are full of amazing places to eat and drink.
    00:00 - introduction
    00:24 - Inverness
    02:03 - Cheticamp
04:16 - Cape Breton National Park
    04:25 - Ingonish
    05:17 - Baddeck
08:33 - One last Stop at Charlene's Restaurant for Chowder
I spent a week here last summer and here are some of my favourite spots:
Inverness BEACH HUT was recommended by a local and WOW it was a fantastic cafe to stop for a crab cake burger and onion rings with sriracha mayo.
Glenora Inn & Distillery: not only are the Fiddler fish and chips some of the best in Nova Scotia, but the private distillery tour will change how you think about whiskey.
Route 19 Brewing had one of the most interest craft beers I've had this year. I didn't get a chance to eat here but the food looked amazing.
The Dancing Goat Cafe & Bakery is a local favourite for bread, cookies and sweets. It is worth a slight detour before you get on the Cabot Trail.
Aucoin Bakery Ltd. was one of the most recommended spots in Cheticamp. I wish I had been able to pick up a meat pie but the cinnamon bun was one of the best ever.
Mr. Chicken is known to have the best fried chicken on the island and I can see why!
L'Abri café, restaurant et bar was one of my favourite restaurants this year. I loved the decor, the friendly staff and locals drinking wine for lunch.
Coastal Restaurant & Pub was such a great time. The service is so down home and friendly. I had the famous Ringer Burger and it lived up to its reputation.
The Dancing Moose Cafe Cottage and Camping Cabins was a last minute visit for breakfast but I loved the Dutch pancakes, It's so pretty there I'd love to go back and stay at one of the cottages.
Big Spruce Brewing was SUCH a treat. I loved all the beer and when people told me to try the lobster wontons I wasn't expecting much from deep fried food - but it was decadent and delicious!
Cedar House was one of my favourite spots. An old school diner with a menu of classics like a hot turkey sandwich, the service was sincere and as fantastic as the food - my favourite oat cakes ever!
Inverary Resort on Baddeck Bay is gorgeous, you can eat at the Lakeside restaurant and there's lots of space for picnics on the grounds with
Eileanan Brèagha Vineyards wine and Herring Choker Deli veggie sandwich.
And you can't leave Cape Breton without chowder from Charlene's Restaurant indeed this place absolutely lives up to the hype!
I'm a Canadian travel blogger at home for the summer and autumn. But I'm making the most of my time by traveling Atlantic Canada.

Love Nova Scotia, Cabot Trail was the favorite part of our trip. We ate twice at the Dancing Goat and I bought some of their coffee to bring back to Georgia to enjoy. Baddeck is beautiful, think I could live there! Thanks for the memories!

I love the Cedar House lemon bread. I would also recommend The Arduaine Restaurant at Keltic Lodge.

I didn’t have a great experience there a couple years ago but perhaps it was because of the pandemic. I would try again.

It always seems like everyone forgets about the seagull restaurant. It’s just a small restaurant but has really good food! Thanks for the video!

@@ayngelina It’s right buy the water in Ingonish next to the royal Canadian legion. Honestly it’s quite easy to miss but it’s really great! Haha I might also be a bit biased as I have family who owns it but for anyone travelling the trail it’s a great choice!

what a gorgeous island! I never would have guessed it to be warm enough ever to get down to bathing suits on the beach LOL! Love all the beer tries, I am also a lover of craft beers.

Well Nova Scotians are used to the cold water. So I'd say warm is subjective.

Is Dino's in Ingonish still open? Literally, the greasiest onion rings on the planet. Squeeze an average onion ring and it unleahes like a popped pimple filling your paper tray and covering your hands.

The local craft breweries have been experimenting with local fruit lately and it's been lovely.
