The population of Cebu has increased greatly! The city is getting so crowded. The crowds during Sinulog six years ago or five years ago are no longer the same as two years ago and nowadays!
In fact, in the past, before the Covid pandemic, a number of Stampede incentives were common on the Old Routes of the Sinulog Grand Mardi Gras.
This is one of the main reasons why, last year in 2023, Mayor Mike Rama decided to move the location of the Sinulog Grand Mardi Gras and Grand Ritual Showdown to SRP. Since then, there have been no more incident of stampede, thanks to the spacious venue at the South Road Properties (SRP) that easily accommodated millions of people.
The SRP is the best location, it's very spacious, clean, nice view, fresh air, very safe and No Dangers of Stampedes!
The crowds at last year's Sinulog 2023 at SRP were estimated at around 2 million, and this year at Sinulog 2024 at SRP, they reached more than 3 million. And there are big crowds also inside and outside the Basilica del Santo Niño Church, in old downtown, in Colon, in Fuente, Mango, and Baseline.
The crowd estimate does not yet include the number of people who gathered at the Cebu City center, the people in downtown and uptown Cebu City may have reached more than 3 million also.
Imagine if all these big crowds gathered in one place in narrow areas like Fuente, Baseline, Mango, or Colon; it would be a deadly disaster. Deadly stampedes could happen. "Prevention is better than cure!"
We don't want another deadly PhilSports Stadium Stampede or the Wowowee Stampede in 2006, the Itaewon Halloween Stampede in 2022, or the 2015 Mina, Mecca, Saudi Arabia Stampede with a death rate of more than 2,500!
Mayor Mike Rama did a great job. Cebuanos, especially in Cebu City, are very proud of you! Thank you and Congratulations, Mayor, and Cebu City Government, for a very safe and very successful Sinulog 2024 at SRP.

Cebu celebrates the Sinulog & Feast of Santo Niño, the Child Jesus, which is like an extended celebration of Christmas which is the birth of baby Jesus!
“Pit Señor” is the short form of "Sangpit sa Señor,” a phrase in Cebuano that means, “to call, ask, & plead to the king, or "Long Live the Christ Child."

Maganda po ang presentation ng Bacolod Masquerade kaya lang po they didn't have their queen dancing the Pit Senyor, This is the Sinulog festival NOT the Mascara festival in Bacolod, Hopefully next year they would conform with the tradition of the event, pero magpagayun pa man maganda po congratulations to all the dancers...SUPER LOVE IT!!!

Eh pilit talaga... Masskara festival hindi yan related sa religious or any ritual... They are invited to show kung ano ang masskara festival... You sounds like na parang binabastos yung tradition ng sinulog... Nakikita mo nman ang costume at naririnig yung tugtog diba... Hay nako...
Masskara is a non-religious festival and sone of its iconic features include the use of smiling masks, colorful costumes, and fabulous headdress. Viva! Pit senyor!
@@iterax07 Ay hindi po napansin ko lang kasi lahat ng sumali sa parada since sinulog has been declared officially by the LGU days before the grand parade, They all have their Queens dancing and Glorifying the Pit Senyor, wala pong "parang binabastos" na tulad ng sinabi nyo po (quote end quote po yun)...BTW po makikita nyo po ako sa ibang YT channels hindi lang dito kasi I love YT vlogs pero never po akong naging basher kahit kanino, pero pag may napansin po ako na unusual of course bibigkasin ko po ang nasa loob ko basta lang never cross the line po...Salamat po.
