Blokfluitist Sarah Jeffery is wereldwijd bekend door haar UA-cam kanaal 'Team Recorder', waarmee zij de afgelopen jaren bijna tweehonderdduizend volgers heeft geworven.
Sarah brengt nu haar eerste muziekboek uit, in samenwerking met uitgeverij Schott: 'My Favourite Melodies'. Een collectie van haar allerlievelingsmuziek, van de Barok tot de Romantiek, van Ierse volksmuziek tot composities van vandaag.
Vanavond speelt Sarah de muziek vanuit haar boek als concertprogramma, samen met harpiste Andrea Voets en pianist Anne Veinberg. Muziek van o.a. Henry Purcell, Händel, Clara Schumann, John Dowland, Vittorio Monti, Joseph Bologne, Maria Theresia von Paradis, en Victor Alcántara.
Dit concert is mede mogelijk gemaakt door Schott Publishers, en Mollenhauer Recorders.

Recorder player Sarah Jeffery is known worldwide for her UA-cam channel 'Team Recorder', with which she has gained nearly 200,000 followers.
Sarah is now releasing her first music book in collaboration with Schott publishers: 'My Favorite Melodies'. A collection of her favorite music, from Baroque to Romantic, from Irish folk music to contemporary compositions. Tonight Sarah will play the repertoire from her book as a concert programme, together with harpist Andrea Voets and pianist Anne Veinberg. Music by Henry Purcell, Handel, Clara Schumann, John Dowland, Vittorio Monti, Joseph Bologne, Maria Theresia von Paradis, and Victor Alcántara, among others. This concert is possible with the help of Schott Publishers, and Mollenhauer Recorders.

According to Sarah (at 5:06), first piece in the concert is "The Dear Irish Boy". This is an entirely different tune than "Danny Boy" (which is also known as "The Derry Air").
Splendor's concept is amazing. Wish there was something similar where I live!
Just found this by accident and I‘m over the moon. I bought Sarah‘s book because I started playing the soprano and love her channel. All the pieces are great arrangements. I‘m looking forward to practicing the melodies, especially the Monti. But I must say I like all the pieces. In my opinion the book is a great achievement for the music market. Personally I‘m happy that she made a potpourri for the soprano/tenor and not the alto because this is my focus and I couldn’t find a lot of literature for this instrument except for Baston and Sammartini, which I love. Thanks for uploading this concert. It was a joy to watch. Greetings from a German fan.

Great presentation... I guess most of the pieces are too difficult for me . I can play Daphne...Who knows in the future. I'm looking forward. Ow there are YT tutorials .. That's great.
@Rman Pojo Don‘t think in this way. I‘m sure you will manage the pieces with a bit of practice. Just try measure by measure, a few measures a day. In the beginning it might not sound too amazing but over the time it’s easier to play. I bought Sarah‘s book and must say I love it eventhough I find some pieces more difficult than I expected because it says intermediate, but with the audio files it‘s manageable. But of course my interpretation isn’t nearly as good as hers. Have fun with the melodies. That is all what counts.
Theyre too difficult for me too so last night I had the idea to simplify them, keeping the bare bones of the tune but cutting out all the fast fingerings and extra notes and to be honest I can't even follow the music by sight as fast as she plays, so I have no hope of playing them as my brain just doesn't move that fast! However, simplifying the score is very achievable and still sounds nice, and as a beginner/ novice sounds much better than struggling with a passage beyond our ability. Good luck, I'm sure by next year we will all be whistling along ready for the next book release :)
