Morgott boss battle. Elden Ring boss battle.
4:33 What a perfectly timed sunset. The daylight fades just as Morgott's life does.
I'm so glad I got to fight him during the sunset. It was so cinematic
I love the duality of Morgott's looks and then the way he fights with golden armaments flying all willy nilly. Dude could teach Gilgamesh from fate a trick or two
That’s true
Indeed, Morgott is one of the coolest & most epic characters not only in ER, but in all of the series, from being an unloved omen to king of the capital, epic!
Now I get why Ranni piles books on her chair to appear taller. Just look at her throne's size compared to the rest of her family's.
I just beat this guy yesterday, as cathartic it was was finally kicking his ass I wish I didn't have to kill the dude xD. Seriously he's such a great character.
Yeah well, maybe if he didn't tar us with the same brush everyone tarred him with, we may not have slaughtered him.
I fail to see why he fought us so ostensibly and spitefully when he has no real love for the shardbearers and his efforts in stopping us from being Elden Lord is futile because as he points out, regardless if we win or lose against him, the tree would forbid entry.
@@dragonquest8ftw1 he committed suicide by tarnished
Literally more aggresive than champion gundyr, absolute crazy fight with all the delayed attacks and combos.
he's actually the champion gundyr of elden ring as he appears twice
@@doge_69 and your intro boss that you fight again mid game
He reminds me of pontiff
@@doge_69 3 times actually. There is another optional fight where he possesses some merchant and transforms into Margit thru him.
I ended up beating Morgott with the godskin greatsword double handed. Definitely one of the most pulse pounding moments for me in the souls series. It’s actually easier to beat him using ranged spells or incantations, but fighting him sword on sword is the most epic way. Died many times before getting him, but was well worth it. The second phase is just brutal and the unpredictability of his combos and timing make it hard, especially if you go without a shield like I did.
Kinda wish I didn't own him with mimic and glintstone pebble first try, but on second thought, his moves look frantic, asides from that I don't play with a shield.
Just beat this fight, Melina having some cool moves was a surprise but was so helpful during the battle. This fight feels like it could be a final fight or some sort
How do u get melina here
@@nishanthrao7597 Im not sure whether you need to do something before the fight or not to get her in it. There is usually a summon sign just outside the gate on the right, if it doesnt show up try using a Furlcalling Finger Remedy for the sign to appear
@@nishanthrao7597 Make sure you've activated the summoning pool
@Lу$ёя6!c yeah same, but maybe I was over leveled
@@squirtbrainz1219 you were definitely overleveled. But thats the dilemma of open world. We roam around so much until we are overleveled when we go into Story lmao
Didn't even know Melina was a summon. She's godlike as a partner, holy shit
Found him when I was level 88 with the curved sword (the one you get at those circle fights) at +9. It was a sad fight for him.
Same...
I fought him with +15 sword lmao
Sadly I've just fought him at lvl 120ish with a +10 fully upgraded carian sword, I didn't feel that I was overleveled at all for the previous areas, but I've literally had to let him kill me the first time I fought him bc I was one swing away from beating him without even engaging in the fight, when I noticed I was already first trying him, so I fought him a second time using a less upgraded weapon but I still think this guy deserves to have more hp to make the fight last a lil longer
I currently have a dual thrusting swords
One is 16+ with a froze ashe of war and the second is 15+ with the same ash of war
I am level 80 don't remember exactly
I had a similar level but It was hard
He was fast and kept killing me for a while😂
I managed to Git gud and won
Beat him at lvl 111. He died so fast that I was bracing for a second phase. It didn't and after reading his lore, I just felt sad. Owning a boss is not as fun as I expected it to be.
Why are you so over-leveled? You’re ruining the game for yourself
@@Sam-tg6ee Can't really help myself. I can't ignore anything "sub-quest" like.
@@Sam-tg6ee I fought him while being in the 120s, I just played the game doing everything that popped up, didnt farm once, I beat some bosses though that are meant to be end game which game me lots of souls.
@@mikechartofilis I know exactly what you mean. Beat Godskin Apostle (for the first time) in the Caelid tower while I was just past 30. He took just enough damage for me to think it's doable. Took about 20 tries to beat him and for that I was rewarded 94k runes. I literally said out loud "Oh so I wasn't supposed to be here just yet".
@@thephoenixxy Godskin Apostle is easy. The question is how did you beat Radahn first? 😱

Level 65 is just right for this fight
@@nothde9865 u beat him lvl 60? Mid diff or high diff?
After I beat the game i figured out the spirit bell was a thing
Boss fight database is still the shit. While other UA-camrs like shirrako make themselves op for these bosses. This guy just picks a casual build and just does it, giving us a long and good fight showing us everything this boss has to offer
agreed, in particular I realized this trying to find a decent Godfrey fight and he is the only one
damn, this took me like 20 attempts and not once did I ever see him do the attack at 4:02
I wonder if it'a for lore reasons. It looks like the same type of attacks his brother mohg uses but considering that margot hates his omen existence he probably avoids using any of those abilities.
It’s pretty rare, he only uses it after those blood flame attacks of his, and only sometimes.
Best OST in the game in my opinion. I got goosebumps seeing Melina dash around with the crescendo in the background
So far I think the best ost has been radahn
I have to go with Godrick’s theme on this one.
@@shemarwilliams3159 I changed my mind I think it’s mohgs 100 percent now it’s a knee slapper
@@jimbob7572 I also really dig Malikeths
Damn he leaves like no pauses for melee. It was so fucking hard.
Ive started to realize that you have to incorporate your attacks with evasion. Elden ring feels much more free flowing and precise
I highly recommend trying to throw in a charged attack every now and then when you can. The occasional parry was a big breather. I like how charged attack actually matter in this game

I felt bad for Morgotton.
I got so sidetracked that I spend 20h exploring, by the time I got to him, I was level 88.
Haha I was in the high 90s. Mimic tear helped me kill him first try... Kinda wish I'd at least tried the solo
oh, I'm level 98, so I guess he'll die easy
I was level 100 with +8 Starscourge Greatswords soooo this fight was unfortunately a bit of a joke
Dude is spent a lot of time doing other stuff, so I was level 115 or so! That made the fight easy.
Lol I was at level 140 so it was cake
I love when characters aren't fully consistent. I mean, real people are not. It's really human for Morgott to initially look upon the thrones with disgust and cursing the "traitors" and then being like "oh no, not the thrones!". We see how he wasn't fully stable and how his nature was internally conflicted
He actually reapected the Erdtree and the Golden Order in general a lot which is why he was worried about the thrones. He just cursed the people that were sitting at them because they didnt share the same motivation as him to protect the Erdtree.
Cursing the thrones and the people that sit at them are two different things
That Guy can spam outside of the capital, near the catapults field
The kamehameha and finite fp from flask robbed this fight from me. Rip. I didnt expect it to be that op
That last hit at the end had me dead 😂
2:50 I like how both you and melina got blasted away
This guy... gave me so much trouble and I dont even know why, it's the Margit fight on steroids
Just beat him with Darkmoon greatsword +8, i staggered him when he had 60% HP, did a crit and proceeded to deleted his HP bar in a second
Edit: Btw, i love this character, totally screamed through the whole fight.
Funny how the King thinks he's important and irreplaceable but is actually just a weirdo waiting at his very very very far cousin's doors everyday just to bully the new ashen ones
Until I appeared with my moonlight +10 and ended him with a few swoops of my blade.
@@Zer-xx5jh I accidentally "cheesed" him by summoning Melina cause I was curious to see her fighting, believing she would be an useless healer, but she was so op and tanky I got him the first time I saw her summon mark.
The few tries I made before were hardcore though (but I went quite early like sl 50, and with the "prisonner's chain" and "Carthus ring" (I forgot their Elden ring name) so any hit was hardcore and it was two shot, and he is so fast and vicious with his delayed combos I often took the two lethal hits).
I also saw him in front of the gate behind the two tree sentinels, and he gave a good ring. I dunno if there are other fights against him and if they can be done once his great rune acquired
That's what he exactly is. Just some a$$hole bully for no reason.
Pretty smart he elimantes threats before they can even get to the first shardbearer. The only the one that beat him was us.
@@Musashi139 He should use his full powers since the first fight if he was so smart
Jesus, and I was having a terrible time with his lesser half.
Isn't Margit and Morgott the same dude, similar to how Renna and Ranni is the same person?
@@KhangNguyen-ij4xh I would like to know.
You can also refight Margit near the capital's gates, behind the two tree sentinels, on the ruined battlefielf, idk if they are actually all the same

I feel like this boss needs to be around level 90-105 because most people aren't going to be level 80 by the time they get here.
It's really weird that he isn't, right? I mean Margit was such a roadblock when he first appeared, so FromSoft clearly expects you, even wants you to go explore before you take on the main path challenges. I feel like this could have been such a nice Pontiff Sulyvahn moment, but it ended up being easier than Velstadt.
This boss is absolute torture with no summons
Not really he’s really fun to fight imo
lmao true. I died for like 30+ times before deciding i needed summons
Both encounters with Margit/Morgott are so memorable. Love his character fr.
This fight was so good despite being overleveled and have a +23 sword that did 1000 damage ever hit i still had trouble due to how agressive he is
What’s ur sword and how to get my fellow tarnished?

@@rinokurin4837 it was when using lions claw it did 1000 damage i dont know about uchigatana as i havent tried a dex build yet
this fight is a lot more fun if you're not overlevelled like dude in the vid. If you actually learn his attack patterns instead of just tanking attacks it's dope.
lmaaaaaaooooo, I thought he was underleveled.
reminder to myself to reach this part at a lower level on my next playthrough because it was over quicly with melina and my mimic lmao
I don't get this "soulsborne" BS that you have to be weak to fight a boss. "I need to be in my underwear, blindfolded, sporting only a wet towel as a weapon, or else I am not a true souslborne player. "
@@mistermart50 I think this guy’s just disappointed the fight ended so quickly (Morgott’s cool af) so one way of making it last longer is being weaker. Has nothing to do with "Soulsborne BS" lmao
@@grimzby6983 Maybe not for him, but I see a lot of comments saying you can't use katanas, summons, ashes, etc or else it's cheezing it. All the stuff available in game is cheezing unless you are a level 1 wretch with a club.
This dude has so littl downtime you cant even scratch urself for a second without getting hit
Really needed more health. Completely slaughtered the dude at RL 80 - on the earlier end of when you're "supposed" to do Leyndell. Hell, the Godfrey illusion was way more of a challenge than Morgott since he didn't have a Shackle (used it before realizing how squishy he was) and also doesn't have a slow ass phase transition. Though honestly I feel like Morgott still wouldn't be particularly "hard" since his attacks are pretty heavily telegraphed. Maybe a touch faster with the cursed sword combos and this fight would be more dance-like rather than feeling too short for its own good
I’m devastated that I beat him in one try. And no I didn’t cheese him and summon nothing. Rotted
same. was way too overlevelled from exploring
I think that's really the biggest problem for first runs in this game. As one does in open worlds, you do all optional stuff you can before advancing, so by the time you come to the real thing, you just obliterate it. Throughout my playthrough I thought about switching to weaker weapons often, but that's just bullshit. I deserve to deal shit tons of damage after looking around the entire map. After Godrick, there was no enemy that I didn't beat within at most 5 tries. I know I came somewhat late to the game, and a lot has already been patched, but after the morgott fight, I really doubt this "late game damage and difficulty spike" will be anything to worry, or even complain about.
Anyone else notice how the way he changes the grip of his cane at 1:03 is unnatural?
I will intentionally die at the end just so I can experience this fight over and over. It is the
Absolute perfect boss fight all developers soon take note of.
My entire strategy to this fight was spamming LT with Bolt of Gransax while Melina was just doing random shit to keep him distracted
"Morgott"...ahem...how very original of you, George.
He's the same guy who came up with "Valar Morgulis"
We should have seen this coming
I wanted to see the intro to this boss fight. I skipped it because I summed another player to help and didn't want to risk losing him durring the intro

Nah bro. Pretty sure you’re supposed to beat his ass before going after the rest of them.
give him some credit, fromsoftware did him dirty here, with how much pain going into leyndell, how easy it is to sidetrack from road to leyndell into rykard castle, and ranni simps ends up to challenge radahn first, i guaranteed that majority of players beat rykard or/and radahn first before going to leyndell, as result morgott face too many overleveled foul tarnished
in fact this arena did him so much disadvantage, both in lore and gameplay, you know why in lore, clearly in gameplay, that wide ass arena would be far more suited for burst AOE attacks, rather than clear and fluid movement that can be easily read and avoided by simply rolling. that arena designed purposefully for godfrey rather than morgott
thats why margit owned far more player than morgott instead. we need justice for our king!

I'm guessing that it was just what he was called before he started grafting. He calls himself "The Lord of all that is Golden", and he must've had some title before "the Grafted".
