    I have a 24hp B&S. Looks like oil was pour all over it 😂. Find and everything is covered in oil too. What would make the intake be full of oil?

      couple different things, valve guide seals, piston rings, PCV system

      @@mongofix thanks for the tips. Spent 2 hours cleaning it off…. Found the oil filter was loose. And the dip stick was cockeyed. Hopefully that was it😅
      For the PCV system, there is a small hose connecting in the back of the intake filter housing into the block…. Where is the valve?

      The tube attaches to the breather assembly (which is bolted to the block) the PCV valve is inside that assembly. Sits right between the V of the block.

    Does it matter what position the governor rod is in when installing the sump plate to the engine?

      kind off... luckily it easy to adjust. Idealy put a mark on the gov rod and clamp so when reassemble just line the mark up and then no adjustment needed. but you might get lucky and be close enough to not need any adjustment.

    i notice you didn't take the oil pump out (3 5/16 screws are holding it on in my B&S Model: 28T707 Type: 1154-E1 Code: 010302ZD, ), I notice some people take that out, do you think I should on my particular engine since it's a Bucket head or single piston B&S 28T type engine? It looks very close to yours without the V-heads. My sump lower pan gasket might be leaking like yours, not sure yet till i get-er off , also, my gasket didn't come with replacement bolts and it is a genuine B&S gasket. Should I get new bolts?

      Dealer choice for the oil pump and the bolts.
      In Mongo opinion: If you don't have to remove the oil pump then don't touch it. If kit no come with new bolts then reuse em.
