Years ago, there was an operation underway at the time to get the 3417 in Cleburne running. I'm glad someone restored an example of this kind of motive power, the 3400 series ATSF 4-6-2s. These high drivered engines were designed to highball fast.
ATSF3415 ~ Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe. ATSF3415, thanks so much for this video. I just can't help but to thank all of the gentlemen who poured their blood, sweat, tears and money to keep this loco alive and steaming. She is beautiful. $10,000 on Lionel models does nothing for me; this video makes me cry happy! Whoo whoo, bell and whistle. =^.^=
Very cool video. Out of curiousity, what did it cost to get 3415 barking steam again? I live in Pueblo, CO and we have ATSF 2912 (old baldwin 4-8-4) and I personally would love to see her barking steam.
So where exactly is this engine based? If I'm ever out that way, could you use another hand? My life's ambition is to be a steam locomotive engineer, but I'm not picky, I'd be happy to help out any way I can.
congrats also. she looks wonderful and good for all of u returning another steame locomotive back onto the rails for yet a new begining in her life
Wow, definently very much props and congrats on reviving the old girl. It's so wonderful to see another steamer come back alive again.

Nice looking engine, had a few of those on the B&O when I first hired out, but not for long.

Looks Sounds great! Thanks for postting.
Len.
Congrats on bringing another ATSF steamer back again!
she looks fantastic, my congrats to the 3415 crew for a job well done.
It would be neat to get the 1880 up and running and do some triple headers with the 3415, the 1880, and the 3751. Maybe even restore the 3768.
The 2926 is going to steal thunder from the 4449 when it's finished. That engine is just a pure brute.
I hear that somone's restoring the atsf 3463. That would be awesome.

I got a cab ride today!
Thats a good looking locomotive. id like it more if they painted the smokebox white or light gray though. And if they put a nathan 6 chime on it.
It's too sad about the 3416, 3417, and 3424. They aren't able to be restored.
you guys consider eventually teaming her up with 3741 for some excursions?

Yeoww, guys! Outstanding!
Hey, atsf3415, do think the asvrr would be able to take another steam engine? I know of one that's in pretty good condition.
Can't wait until 2926 is done.
Do you think you'll ever do an excursion with 4449, 844, 3985, or 2472?
Nice joint at 3:10...
Don't you mean 3751? you said 3741 in your comment. there's no surviving ATSF steamer with the number 3741.
Mirrors? You've got to be kidding me...
Santa Fe 4-6-2 Pacific 3415.
Yes I did...heh my mistake

What production?
This one great looking steamer, I have spent a lot of years in the cab of these old steamers, great memories.
