Hey!! Glad to find some more fingerstyle players on the Bass VI. Is the string spacing a bit wider to accommodate the thicker gauge, or is it about the same or narrower than regular spacing for an electric guitar?
It is around the same as an electric guitar. Different Bass VI makes and models might have different spacings, as is the case for guitars and bass in general, anyway. Gauge-wise, at the moment I have 95 for the low E, which is thicker than one might assume - it's basically like a light gauge low E for traditional bass guitars, on a 30" scale of course.
it occurred to me that playing with fingers the bassvi isn't that different from playing an acoustic guitar. When I didn't have a bass I picked an acoustic guitar and played like that. A mix between classical technique and bass.
