Out of all the 2k17 dribbling tutorials on you tube this is the only video that details the LEFT analog sticks role in doing the moves all the other channels show you the right stick only and i could never do them until i found this channel. Very informative!
Love the tutorials SamPham. Out of curiousity, from what you've played so far. Do you feel the controls have been improved this year (more intuitative or accurate to what you're trying to pull off) or about the same? Thanks!
dude great videos! you slow it down and give some great advice, I used to just randomly hit things and hope for the best. you took my 2k16 game to a new level. Im actually running plays and breaking ankles now. Just subscribed! Keep it up
Hey, you are helping me get better at this game. My friends say i suck and it makes me feel left out. But with your help i will show them i can really play. Thank you
Iv always played PG in mycareer but I'm mixing it up this year n playing C. Looking forward to you dropping some tutorials for bigs. Keep up the good work phamily
Wow. I've always been horrible with dribble moves. In fact, I shelved my shot creator in frustration; This video helped me so much. I've since started playing my sc again and I'm breaking all kinds of ankles. Thanks.
Just some constructive criticism. When you show your button prompts overlay on the screen, could you please do both PS4, and XB1 controller button presses please. When you say hit X I get confused, so it would help greatly to have a prompt on the screen for each console controller. Thanks for the great informative videos.
advice on consistently performing the pull back? I feel like I'm doing something wrong, I always end up awkwardly retreating.. also do you use step back/off balance shots?
oh boy! its on :) 2k and sam pham. These moves are indeed helpful. I've noticed that the protect the ball speed boost in the PnR game is most of the time not enough to get the right passing lane or separation. ... AI will be insane this year, mark my words :) Love your content! keep up the good work.
hi friends, Amazing!!! I саn nooow add unlimited VC --> twitter.com/aa88480cb663988ad/status/781493617156300801 NBA 2K17 Dribbling Тutooorial 2K17 How to dоо best Crоssover Аnkle Brеаkеrs Hоw to play 2K17 1
great post! i tried for the first time but every time when I performed the 3rd cross (the counter move by flicking the right stick towards non-ball hand at an angle in 2k camera), it gave me a snatch back animation. I will try out your method and see how it goes. thanks again for the tip
The substitution Mechanic is broke in this game. You have to wait for a second pause in the game for your subs to occur after a timeout. This is game breaking because in late games if you need to sub in a player for a final play, you must call a second timeout or wait for another pause in the game. I'm surprised no one's mentioned this. I hope you use you're channel to point this out. thanks bro and keep up the good work.
Hi Sam, I´m from Brazil. First i want to thank for the best content of nba 2k on youtube in my opnion, and u help me a lot in the game. I hope u continue this tutorials. And ask u if possible bring more plays from playbooks of the teams (like katana, double dragon, etc).
Hey Sam Its me again my friend back for another 2k season with you. I Have 2 Very important questions as im having a lot of incosistancy with this counter move.1) Is your Pro Stick set to Default or Dribble Moves in control settings? 2) Are you sure you can keep holding down turbo while trying to initiate this counter behind the back move bc I am having just a bit slight inconsistant success when I release turbo after Hesi Cross or Escape Cross then pressing Right stick to 4'Oclock/8'oclock angle right before bumping into defender then holding turbo again after the behind the back move happens to burst to the basket. I would much rather be able to hold turbo the whole time but im not getting a consistant counter move behind the back this way. All together this is a very difficult move as the dribble animation for the behind the back seems to be very inconsistant despite me doing what you said.
+Manny C 1) yes default 2) you are experiencing better success sometimes minus turbo because you are slowing down and gaining space + time before the bump of defender. If you want to hold turbo entirely you will need to be able to either read the bump spacing exceptionally well OR use the left stick to angle yourself away from defender to give yourself that extra half a sec to pull off the RS counter with turbo :)
Makes perfect sense. looks like I might just need more practice with the move and reading the bump spacing. I might even change my 2k view to a closer view so i can read it better. Thanks for the reply man and your videos have definitely taken my game to another level.
hey, so what is your playmaking rating? and how does that affect your dribble moves? if you are using a playmaker type player and they have a good rating, how does this help someone starting to play mycareer with low ratings?
Sam, can you do a post up move tutorial soon? With the large amount or wing players out I think I could be a nice complement with an effective post player.
Hey sam! I got a quick question on a dribble animation. I'm try to figure out how to change the animation when you press r2 + flick down on right stick.
Thats some great work mate. Since 2k16 even thoughu kinda could have combined too you helped tons of people now, I know for sure im gonna spread this and if you wouldn't mind me adding it to a new guide im working on for 2k17. I wrote he lockdown Defense Guide last year, cause its was amazing how many people didnt know how to defend at first. there are quite a few defensive changes this year. Bt your work there, so crystal clear and easy to do gets people to not flick around that stick like its spanking his own...well u know what i mean, Question are you on absolute dribble or...pov?... you know - relative to camera in your settings? ...and have you fund a spin like 2K16s unique 5 and 7? with the double spin you can go flying out of with more moves? I pre bought the game and old getting started on it now lol sory for so many words. Good man!
I'm new to the game and when i do this, I keep bumping into the player and can't get around, currently using pro difficulty and haven't touched any of the settings including the slider. Currently playing PG playmaker and can't even do anything, I can't even score and barely even get assists, just sucking at the game atm, not sure what to do. The defender is never affected in body movement so just sticks to me like a glue, help would be great.
Also my problem, i always bump in the cpu, not fair. The cpu dribbles the ball and can go through me but i cant get past them. Fix this mirror cpu defense pls 2K
azn2194 have you guys found out the problem I also have a pg playmaker and it's maybe bc you have to upgrade dribbling I have a pretty good dribbling and that never happens to me
Nice tip! Gonna wait until October or November to play though. I swear this game comes out earlier and earlier every year. Why would they want to compete with the NFL and Madden?
Could u do 1 for shooting with the shot stick? I feel like weather I hold the shot stick up or down its a bank shot. I have my sticks set to absolute because that's what I'm use to, but even on camera relative it's the same. Really need help

So theres no way to hold turbo the whoel time and perform this move? I am very inconsistant with this move when I tried Sams way of holding turbo the whole time. But when I would release turbo after the hesi Cross Or Escape Cross and pull right stick back at an angle it would work sometimes.
Manny C yeah i dont get it. it works when i do it like ben riley says but Sam told to hold turbo the whole time. While doing it like Ben Riley said, it needs perfekt timing, and Sams way seems to be pretty easy
Read Sams reply to this question in the beginning of the comments. It seems like its just a difficult move to perform and you need to be able to read the defenders movement perfectly. But according to Sams reply he said you can keep holding turbo to perform this move. Let me know if you figure out how to be more consistent with this move later down the line.
i suck at dribble i will never be able to pull these moves :xxx when i do the escape and then the cross everything is fine but when it comes to the counter crossover my guy does a between the legs dribble or step back or basically everything else except behind the back move im soo sad :((( nice video tho !

Yo fam what's up with the game planning this year confusing as hell !?!

Hold the stick down and focus on their release, not. Actual meter, if that makes sense. Holding the stick up, results In a bank shot.
When I do the hesi escape cross my character like jumps back on the escape so when I cross, its useless
does this only work with 2k camera view? I really like playing with broadcast view
love it fam. keep it coming.
Hi Sam, Could you do a tutorial show how to do V-cut to get open? Thanks
