This was an absolute BLAST !
PS : If you still consider cooking, may I suggest hammering a Schnitzel ?
Alex French Guy Cooking i was surprised to see you here. I love both channel. Keep up the good work!
Enjoyed your humor here and subscribed after seeing it continued in the omelet video - congratulations on getting the video response!
Ja bitte ein schnitzel 😍😏
I have been waiting for this collab for aaaages
Shame you didnt get to make a damascus chef knife though
Schnitzel have not had one of them since i left the army 22yrs ago hmmmmm
When he started speaking french it just amazed me. this man is like a Swiss army knife.
He's just a middle class English :)

THIS IS THE COLLAB I HAVE BEEN DREAMING OF
I want to see a Damascus play button in celebration of 1mil

Yaaaaaas plz do that

Awesome video gents! Our two favorite things, steak and steel!
Is TIG'ing a steak the only time we can use O2 for a shield gas, to get that proper surface Char?
Every UA-camr should use Alex and his channel as an example of how colabs should be done! These videos are always excellent.

It probably helps that his mother is French.

Two of my favorite UA-cam personalities together. Awesome video.
absolutely superb Alec! though have to be honest, I'm starting to have my doubts about Alex (if that's even his real name). he's got a look on his face like he has a master plan. which youtuber is next? and what is he building with these seemingly unrelated items? I hate to even say it out loud but.. Weather Dominator?
I noticed that Alex has a heavily modified noodle roller that... someone... helped him with. I really think he needs to send that off to AvE for a teardown and analysis video.
stupified007 Eyyy
I just started watching your videos few days ago and now you are everywhere! There's something going on here! Ave, Alec, Old Tony. Might have a conspiracy here!
Something fishy going on, surely
Channel full of good content, then goes out and collabs with a bunch of bigish youtubers (and TOT), this man knows how to build interest in a channel. World and weather domination for sure.

its so satisfying during the montage parts when the editor syncs the beat of the song to the blows of the hammer
All this to beat your meat
Out of all the recent collab's you did, this is my favorite. My two passions: Metalwork and Cooking. Perfect combination. Instant sub to Alex, btw.
It's a pleasure to be part of these few 3% of your viewers! Really good french btw :)
Everyone keeps going on about speaking French but did you not see how comfortable and skilled Alex (French guy) was very impressed great job guys
Seriously Alec, I've noticed you putting yourself down what your education is concerned at times. I'm a Dutch guy living in Paris these days.. (Still hoping to cross Alex on the streets some time, but that aside) your French really is pretty darn good! Don't keep putting yourself down!
Yes, you're still young and I might be almost twice your age... But just look at how mindboggeling good your are already at your craft... your art...
I imagine you 20 years from now, and you wouldn't be competing on something like forged in fire, you'd be the top judge there!
Your humbleness, your attitude and personality, the your tour de force approach to every little thing you attempt makes you all just more endearing to me.
Beyond your videos, beyond your projects and beyond everything else, the way you approach life, the way you approach everything you do and everybody you meet... We could use a whole lot more of that in this world.
(Oh, and Alex... Now that you're back from Italy and back from the UK as well apparently, you don't know just how much I'm waiting for you to figure out how to make some decent mozzarella at home... I've had the présure [rennet] laying around for a while now from even before you made your first ep on that topic... Your methodical approach is going to save me so much time to figure this all out myself! I won't even bother to mention my nascent Ramen addition. )
Il a un très bon accent
Jérémy carrèment
Bien meilleur que le mien. :p
nodeworx, I'm sure your accent in French is a lot better than mine in english 😅
This is beautiful. Seeing two artist combine their passions together and play off each other is stunning.
I love how this guy is always happy. Truly an inspiration
Hahah when two of my fav exotic (for the content obviously) youtuber come together and they start speaking french, my night is done !
It’s nice to see Alec eating something in the shop that hasn’t been microwaved.
Also, maybe make a tenderiser head for the power hammer.
tenderised by power hammer...
That could actually allow for a really, really cool Damascus pattern- sort of like a squared, grid-like Raindrop-ish pattern? Poke little pyramid holes in something, then squash it flat from the side?
i dont think that would entirely work like that, because poking holes in it and then squishing it flat from the side would just make a bunch of cold shuts, but if you hit it from the top with the pyramid spikes until they've bade a bunch of indents, and then ground the top off until it was flat, you could get a sort of concentric grid pattern.
maybe a safety example of what possibly a tenderized hand would look like
what if they had two pyramid sides and then they were forge-welded back into each others pyramid faces? making the teeth meet in the middle sort of yin-yang to each other? would that make a pattern or just pound out too flat to see a pattern?
I heard Alec speaking French, I said ''wait, that's my language'' 🤣
Would you happen to know what they said? I'm curious
This is the manliest Alec Steele vid out there - two guys smith a lethal hammer then dine on forge-smoked steak? Iconic
Impressionne par le niveau de francais d'Alec! Cheers from one of the 3% of your audience ;)

Alec what a fantastic video. But it makes me miss the old younger you, where you would do shorter, more casual videos and you'd always stop for a moment to show us what you had prepared for lunch and cooked it in the poor microwave. But, still wonderful and as always I will see you in your next video!
hank lero I too also liked to see what he was having for lunch that day for some reason it just made sense
hank lero miss it too man, you’re not alone

Gosh Alec, you've got a great French accent! And grateful to be part of that 4% of your bilingual viewers! :p
I like that you and Alex worked together. He will remember the sweat equity he put into the ultimate meat tenderizer.
It’s two crazy men with crazy hair and glasses beating on steel ,can’t imagine a better way to spend 15 min watching UA-cam
Carter Allen there was some meat beating too xd
Raphael Aguirre yes there was 😂
That sounds like 70’s Gay porn...
Not going to lie, I have never heard of this guy before and wasn’t expecting much out of a “French cooking guy” but surprisingly he seemed extremely competent in the shop! Major props and actually interested in checking this guy out! Never judge a book by its cover!
I am a fan of Alex's channel too. He is an engineer by training, not a chef, who became interested in cooking and started a youtube channel to chronicle his learning. Part of what makes his channel so interesting is the engineers approach he takes to learning and experimentation with cooking and food. As a bonus he's totally nuts, in the most delightful way.
Or a COOK by its cover!
The door is down the hall to the left, right? Ok.
Tahoe Mike That’s awesome, figured there had to be more to his background than just a “French cook”. I’m going over to check his channel out now!
Harrison T 😂 Not going to lie that was pretty good lol!
he is kind of guy that when making videos about knife sharpening, makes a device which tells him if he is holding the knife under the correct angle.
When making pasta he is using electric drill instead of a handle
while making noodles, he made a website that is noodle food generator.
Now he tried to make a mozzarella, sucked at it, then went to Italy to see how its done.
Lol, my two favorite youtube channels doing a collab. Didn’t see this one coming! Great episode!
2 of the best creators on youtube together I love watching you guys and this is the best collab I could have imagined thank you and have a good day!
I've been subbed to Alex for a while now, and I've ALWAYS thought that the two of you would get along. You're both driven and passionate about your craft. Great collaboration, fun to watch

Oh btw Alec Steele. Did you get that Anvil cut from the leather from Makers?
Two of my favorite channels, and two of my favorite guys collabing together, and both making something awesome.
I cant like this enough haha. Love seeing other people in my generation smithing , machining and stuff such as myself. LOVE IT DUDE. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!
Hey Alec what would happen if you cut Damascus like the pyramids and flattened it out. Do you think it could give a similar effect as the raindrop pattern? I would love to see this executed. Hope everyone has a good day 😊✌🏻
Power hammer is the best tenderizer on the planet
I really wanted to see that
Aleksandar Tadic someone told me my scrambled eggs need to be more tender
I saw this comment and it did not end well
I've been watching both channels for a while now... nice to see you working together!
My dad has been a machinist for 27 years and he works with giant KIA machines that are the size of small cars, and he can use those things without even looking. It’s amazing to watch him work.

As a french guy discovering Alec with this video.
It's just worth an instant sub ! xD
Just insane how your french accent is so close to perfection that you almost sound like an other guy talking.
It feels like i'm gonna spend the night watching this guy do things and learn a lot about blacksmithing.
Excellent collaboration! I love seeing the story told from both of your viewpoints!
Just watched this and then Alex's video on his channel. So fun to see how you each made videos about the process. Following him now as well.
Just casually setting his tool on fire at 4:15. no big deal.
Happens quite often in blacksmithing, so it kinda is no biggie.
It went out in like 2 seconds lmao

Whenever I take more than a month between forging projects, I hang up all my old tools and start by making new ones.
Tools of the trade, tools of no age.
Who knew a chef and a blacksmith would make such a good collaboration! Awesome video!
Awesome video. The production value is just insane. The music synced up with the slow motion power hammer strikes with that little bit of camera shake added in, just awesome. Bravo.
I love the French guy. He has leveled up my cooking style with the science of cooking.
Your French is amazing ! Random French guy is impressed !
J'aurais préféré que l'épisode soit en français mais c'est un très beau travail

watching this kid get better over time is sooo cool. keep up the good work!
Pro machinist here, I would've recommended a 45° chamfer mill to do the tenderizing section of the hammer. Your DOC was great though! Reach out to the machining community once in a while! We move metal too ya know lmao
It needs to be Damascus. It needs to be much bigger. It needs to be a copy of a medieval weaponized kitchen utensil. It needs it's own T-shirt.
Hot damn, your French is actually really good Alec!
i love the way the music is synced with the strikes of the power hammer
As a french canadian, listen Alec steel speak in french ... i'm impressed seriously ! Good work you both!
You should make a "basic" damascus steel kitchen knife set with like a chef's knife, butcher's knife, steak knives and whatever else kind of kitchen knife/knives. Each having having a different damascus pattern (steak knives all the same). Then somehow let your viewers buy entries for a chance for a random person to win the set of knives and having the money raised go to a charity of your (or the winner's) choosing. I know it would be a lot of work but I think it would be a cool idea to give your fans a chance to own something that you made that they can use everyday and to help out a good cause.
THIS IS THE MOST AMBITIOUS CROSSOVER EVENT IN HISTORY
Dude keep up the awesome work I just found your channel during the Quarantine been watching it none stop it’s inspiring to see how young you are and how skilled you are!!! You seem humble as hell too keep it up
