For a super basic daily trainer, that price is insane. Here in Romania, that price is the equivalent of 25% of the minimum monthly salary and about 15% of the medium monthly salary. This shoe is not worth more than 80 dollars, in my opinion. And how I see things, all the running shoes on the market right now are 50% more expensive than they should be.
QD: Current daily trainer is the Saucony Triumph 20 I picked up on sale for $85, and I love that shoe! I’m a bigger, heavier runner, and it’s light, bouncy, compressive, and surprisingly durable as I’ve quickly got over 100 miles in the shoes and are holding up better than the Asics Gel-Nimbus 25. I was interested in the Adidas you’ve reviewed, but it appears the 3 stripe brand still has some work to do for their daily trainers.
Still LOVING the Karhu Ikoni. The fulcrum guidance is great for my chronic achilles issues and it's relatively versatile. Just wish it were a smidge more lightweight.
My daily trainer is the Endorphin Speed 3, it just feel good for long runs and when I have to do the tempo run it is also responsive. I just love the versatility of it! 🎉🎉
QD: I'm running in the Asics Novablast 4. I had the Novablast 3 and it didn't work for me, clunky slow and mushy fast. So didn't have much hope for these but got 30% off retail for the Novablast 4 and said heck why not. Love that they formed it up and feel like it is smooth when slow and picks up speed. Literally just finished 10.33 miles in Novablast 4 and feeling 👍🏾 😊
QOD: My daily right now is the Vomero 17…. And it’s different. I’ve been a Pegasus line runner for daily since the 35 but I think that the vomero is what I wish that Nike would do with the Pegasus. The stability from the lower foam, and the ZoomX on top makes it feel like I can really pick up the pace a little without feeling too much of a difference.
QD: My go to daily trainer is the Adidas Adios 8. The upper is one of the best I’ve ever worn and always get a great consistent lockdown. The shoe is versatile and is the closest shoe I’ve found to be a modern day Boston 9 replacement. Are you planning on reviewing the Adios 8? Would love to hear your thoughts since a lot of shoetubers don’t really know why that shoe exists in the Adizero line. Also, I believe the rubber outsole on the Supernova Rise is called AdiWear. The Continental rubber is still used is Adidas’ lineup, but on their Adizero line of shoes.
I second this. The adios 8 takes me back to the old Boston and Adios days. It’s so good at all paces even though it’s billed as an old school racing shoe.
I saw an interview with the Adidas peeps. They basically said the Supernova series is for people who go to the gym once a week and run once a week. That's its purpose. So they are upfront that it isn't for "daily" runners. I love the 3 stripes and will stick to the Adios, TS, and Pro
Can I use this shoes for paced walking for 10000+ steps and for extensive walking at my workplace please. Your kind response will be immensely appreciated.
QD: Saucony ES3, Triumph 20. About to retire: Hoka Mach 5, Asics Glideride 3. Possible new candidates for this spring/summer: Asics Novablast 4, Hoka Mach 6, New Balance Balos.
Asics Evoride 2 (880km) / Asics Noosa Tri 14 (400km) - great weight, durability and the rocker geometry is gentle to my Achilles tendon. Looking forward to add Novablast 3 to the rotation for slightly longer and slower runs (got them for ~60Eur)
I saw this in others lists of daily trainers. It looks like Adidas is finally trying to get a decent daily trainer on the market. I love their race day shoes.
QOD: I keep a decent rotation for daily’s, but I have to say Saucony Endorphin Speed 3’s still take the cake. I like them so much I grabbed two more pairs during this past Black Friday sale.
Got the Supernova Solution, the stability version, to get my treadmill runs in. I use the Nike Infinity 3s for every run, just works for me, done races from 5k to 13.1 in them. The only time I can get a run in is when its too hot out. So far I like it. The Prima seems to be a higher stack version and will probably try that out when its cooler and I can get outside more
This review is the perfect example why your reviews are by far the best on youtube. I've watched many reviewers praise this shoe as one of the best daily trainers and the midsole as something special. Thanks for the review!
Liked the Original too, shortly will be cheaper for sure and then they are good daily trainers!! My personal favorite at the moment are the Scott Pursuit. Picked up in a Black friday sale for ridiculously cheap and so far I keep smi;ing on my easy runs!!!!
QD: currently the Saucony Endorphin Speed 3 as my daily. Picked it up on discount not knowing whether it would fit in as a tempo or daily trainer. Big fan of the speed 1 & 2 as a speed day shoe. In the Speed 3 the upper & midsole seem more relaxed so it fits in as a solid daily trainer that can pick up the pace if need be.
QOD - still really enjoying the ASICS Noosa 14 after your review a while ago. Currently have 300 miles on my third pair, I usually get 400-450 miles in them before the midsole is dead. Still have one more brand new pair before I need to find a new daily shoe. Haven’t tried the 15s.
My daily I’d the Boston 11 love the shoe it’s so durable and it’s great for long runs and time on feet runs I also love the pop that it gives with the lightstrike pro and the rods
Thus reminded me of my supernova boosts&solar glides. While slightly heavy the Boost always kept form and bounced back. I always logged 650+ Currently in Pegasus 39,40. I like these because the zoom pods seem to mold to my foot as a secondary cushion and also keep the react in shape. *Maybe the Saucony Ride 17 with peba can be that old Boost?
Its firmer but the adizero sl is cheaper and just a more versatile daily trainer, . The old supernova that became the solarglide was awesome. Boost +continental rubber made it last for eons. Just bring that back with boost light
Are you still taking shoes up to 50 miles for a full review? QOTD: I got the ASICS Superblast recently and see no reason to switch out of them until I get value for money and 700 miles clocked up!
Can some one explain to me how this shoe at 9 oz got a score of 5 while the On cloud Eclipse at over 10 oz got a score of 9 on the weight category? It's so biased! I just can't trust these reviews anymore! Sorry!
It is all about the category of the shoe and what it brings to the table. A minimalist road racing shoe can get bad score for weighting 7oz while very cushioned maximalist shoe with good durability is super light at 9oz. So yes, the categories are not really independent on each other and are partially biased. You can't do it purelly based on weight, otherwise the weight score would just suggest in what category the shoe is (and racing flats would be the highest rated :) )
@@SethJamesDeMoor With a midsole stack height of 37 mm in the heel and 31 mm in the forefoot, I would not call that a maximalist shoe in anyway. The Novabast 4 has a stack height of 41/31, comes in at slightly over 9oz and is considered a daily trainer. I happen to own the On Cloud Ecplise and it is a fine shoe, but way over hyped. It's firm, heavy, and pricy compared to the competition.
The good thing is Adidas often has random sales. For $140, I wouldn't buy it, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's available for $70-79 sporadically in the next 6 months...
I thought they were very hard and didn't give after 100 miles. I sent mine back in the 30 day trial disappointed. So many better shoes for a lot cheaper in my opinion
Little confused as of why all the adidas reviewed are terrible. They work extremely well on me, while a brand like saucony for example is really not doing it. Picked up the saucony triumph last year for my long run after watching your review and ended giving them away after 2 runs, that’s how underwhelming it was.
Adidas just straight up struggling in the daily trainer department, even Nike have them covered in 2024. Why can’t they just use lightstrike pro in a daily trainer package???
I think I will stick with my Adistars for now ( really miss the old Bostons!!) . I'm currently using my Mach 4s for a daily trainer. Guess I'm getting old ( one more week til I'm in a new age category!)- because I remember when basic trainers were under $50!😂
Really don’t understand the drop, they put out some great shoes and I hear the drop and I’m instantly out. The new Adistar is looking quite good to me, slightly lower drop
First of all, I love the jacket. Excellent 🤌🏼 Nice to see that the supernova juuuust came in there as it was trending Ride 17 the whole time. This shoe is really interesting in where it fits into the shoe rotation. It doesn’t sound like the greatest all around shoe, but if I could only afford one shoe this might just be a consideration.

George, I really appreciate this insight from Romania, helps us understand the global picture better.
About the price of running shoes ,you hit the bulls eye. They are just sooo expensive, insanely expensive.
The quality is not so good anymore. Almost with every brand we throw money for a few months shoes
@@michkras5006 Nike, Reebok are no longer even close to quality, Adidas is still very high quality, I know that from personal experience
Here in Brazil is near the same , almost 30% .
Honestly the Supernova Rise is my current favorite daily trainer. Not sure why it just feels nice for those easy runs to me as a big guy.
Wonderful to hear this, appreciate this insight
