Gary had it all.
The monumentally underrated gary moore
Doesn't matter how many times I watch this, I have to remind myself to breathe.
Gary and Greeny. THE DUO!!!!!
Im a guitarist and I was always into heavy stuff and blues didn't quite do it for me until I first listened to Gary. I didnt even know blues could sound so damn good.
He's a legend in the guitar community. RIP
He's an everything guitarist. Gary Moore was the best.
R.I.P Gary, You're still the Best...💯💔🙏
Parisienne walkways live is amazing.
Gary was quite simply the greatest guitarist that ever walked this earth! Yes, there are and were other brilliant guitar players, but Gary was just a cut above the rest.
R.I.P Gary we miss you!
😊😎🎸🇬🇧🇺🇦
This is a song by the great Roy Buchanan, you should give some of his music a listen. He was one of rock’s most tragic figures. Insanely talented, held in awe by his world-famous peers,(Jeff Beck idolized him, Gary Moore, Eric Clapton and SRV. Buchanan was a tortured soul whose pain could be clearly felt through his music. He was known as the Master of the Telecaster, The Worlds Greatest Unknown Guitarist, The tragedy of his life was twofold: first, that in spite of his off-the-charts abilities, he was never known to the general public, but rather familiar only to serious rock fans and secondly, that he was found dead, hanging in a jail cell in Fairfax County, Virginia at the age of 48. You often hear of guitarists who can make the instrument “cry” or “sing”, Roy could do all that and then some. The only artists who even come close are Jeff Beck (who matches Buchanan for technique but not emotion) and the late Gary Moore, whose coverer the song is considered
a tribute of his deep admiration of Roy's groundbreaking talent. Listen to "Roy's Bluz", "Hey Joe (Tribute to Jimi Hendrix)" , Ramon's Blues"
"Turn To Stone" and "Wayfaring Pilgrim". And that's just a taste.
Going churchy to cover up acting like pedo Sinatra, Nugent or Gene Simmons is something that can't be glorified. Hopefully soon the FBI files on pedo Sinatra and Gene Simmons will be public info so musicians have a better goalpost of personal behavior to understand. Not that it should be required. But allowing pedo SINatra's career to keep going despite raping and molesting 23 underaged girls while the men were abroad defending Democracy during WW2, yeah, you bet kkkunty piece of dirt Francis Sinatra needed mob protection arranged by Roy Cohn. Trump's gay mentor. Historical facts bub.
Roy was dope, I saw him 40 odd years ago, he made that Fender Telecaster cry!
I saw him in 1972, he was very humble and kind towards the fans that night. The music was a Sonic hurricane. There was magic in the air that night!
@@clifton8929 His live cover of Hey Joe would have got Hendrix's attention for sure!
Hendrix was playing with extra electronic devices to get his sound. Roy got the same sounds with just his Telecaster. A great player. His work with Delbert McClinton was a lesson in how to play great but under the headliner. He was one of my all time favorites.
Gary was the real deal. Played with Thin Lizzy a few times but he was more serious about the music than they were. That Gibson guitar he’s playing was given to him by Peter Green of Fleetwood Mac, it’s now owned and played by Kirk Hammett of Metallic
...and the man can sing, too! Check out "still got the blues" - one of my favorites. No one could make a guitar cry just quite like Gary.
Nice review. As Gary matured, rock turned into blues rock...we are all winners.
Gary was a GOAT. Everyone respected him and was inspired by him. Too bad he never really got the fame he truly deserved until after he passed. 🙏
Beautiful. This is such a great example of guitar technique, tone and emotional expression all coming together. The Roy Buchanan version is also fantastic.
Came here to say this.
Why do you suppose that none of the reactors listen to the original?
@@jimd7260 Good question. I suppose Gary Moore might be better known because of his involvement with Thin Lizzy (and he looked more like a rock guitar god). They were both incredible.
Gary Moore, formerly of Thin Lizzy, is from Belfast Northern Ireland. But he lived here on the south coast of England for many years and I met him locally a couple of times. To talk to, he was a softly spoken, unassuming guy. But on stage, he gave 100% in passion and energy. He also had a good voice, especially for blues/rock fusion music which he pursued @ 1990 onwards. Legend RIP.
This is freaking gorgeous! First he takes you to church, then he takes you to school. Amazing performance.
Smooth and bluesy with a metal edge .
Gotta say , I absolutely love your channel guys ! You both have a lovely appreciation of good music , whoever is making it.
Gary Moore could play it all ! Saw him live many times. A musician's musician.
Keep it going 👏👏👏
The most complete guitarist of all time!!
I've been in music for 27 years, but these endings by Gary, this is something absolutely unique. Steeped in great emotion. The title is no accident.
Gary Moore is such an under appreciated artist in my opinion! He’s also a very good vocalist. May I suggest his song from this same concert “I still got the blues for you!” It highlights both his guitar and vocals.
Yea I’ve been seeing a lot of people request that one. So that will definitely be our next Gary Moore song
This is a Roy Buchanan song. He is one to check out for sure.
Thx for pointing that out. Roy was amazing. Public TV did a doc. on him way back when.
Gary is everything, he's fast, subtle, skilled, x sublime,.. he is NOT laid back . That Volume, the precision x control, .. unmatched.
What a gift for humanity. ROCK IN PEACE GARY, ❤️🤘❤️🇮🇹🇧🇪🇪🇺
Roy Buchanan cover. Roy pioneered many picking techniques and sound effects using just the control knobs on his Telecaster that later became standard pedal effects. One of the greatest guitarists ever and Moore does a good job of honoring him with this version.
He guys!
This Is Gary Moore from Northern Ireland, he was a very brilliant Guitar player, i Say a master for his ability to play his Guitar, and for the many capacity he had to give emotions tò the audience, and for paying differenti style of music: hard rock, blues, pop, soul.....
And not at last: his voice, his vibrato, please Watch (and listen!) him in live duets with Albert King and bb king, and Jimmy Hendrix's " Red House" and the fabolous "still got the blues", i'm waiting your reactions, peace and love☮️, from Italy 🇮🇹
He was irishman not British a Catholic irishman
A great reaction, Gary was a master of contrast and extremes. 100% all of the time. A master
Great pick. Love Gary.
Some serious passion here 👌
Gary's tone and feeling just gives me goosebumps no matter how many times I hear this. Such a master.
His duet with BB King is the best guitar duel you will ever hear.
Still Got the Blues. Must play.
Roy Buchanan’s signature piece.
Let’s hear ‘Hey Joe” Roy Buch. “Live in Japan” 9 minutes.
One of the best to ever play a guitar!! He is right there with SRV in letting his emotions channel through the guitar!! Joe Bonamassa plays “Midnight Blues” in tribute to Gary at a lot of his live shows.. RIP Gary
Sorry, Joe Bonamassa couldn't string Gary's guitar's, plain and simple
Gary Moore, still got the blues,,, live
My personal favorite guitarist and musician in general.
And YES! He’s playing “Greenie” - one of the most famous and expensive guitars in the whole wide world!
Peace
ONE OF THE GOATS PERIOD.
A Gary Moore reaction earns an instant sub.
I'm always happy with your reaction to these song choices. You guys react to the coolest of rock songs.
Gary Moore. Superb.
a true guitar god. rip, mr. moore.
Written by Roy Buchanan who I saw live in the 70s was an American guitarist and blues musician. A pioneer of the Telecaster sound, Buchanan worked as a sideman and as a solo artist, with two gold albums early in his career and two later solo albums that made it to the Billboard chart .It's a song most great guitarist learn but I would say Gary Moore's version is the best
Gary was so underrated.
Guitar God. Corridors of Power is a must listen album
A GOAT player to be sure!
One of my favs.
RIP Gary!
This is a cover of a Roy Buchanan song, his version is also worth a listen, either the studio cut from "A Street Called Straight", or there's a pretty good live version at Austin City Limits available on youtube
I'm telling ya...his live cover of Red House at the Fender 50th concert is amazing. Jimi would be proud...and a little envious if I'm being honest
Gary Moore indeed, that man killed no matter if in Thin Lizzy, as a solo rocker or later in his career, as a blues master. His solo rock career for me was very exciting as I got to see him back in the day on his Corridors of Power then Victims of the Future tours, he was looking to make a statement in those days and came out blazing. Try Don't Take Me For a Loser, a slamming banger and a taste of what he was all about before he left rock to become a blues Ikon. Don't forget his rocking solo career, you will be richly rewarded if you take a chance on it and explore his entire career, he was one of the greats. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎶
A master class in 10 minutes. Not a lot of pedal work, just a lot of control and muting and great hand positioning. Wonderful.
FYI - The guitar that he plays in this video was sold to him by Peter Green of Fleetwood Mac. The guitar is called the Greeny Les Paul, it is a special guitar. It's current owner is Kirk Hammett of Metallica. He is doing a good job taking out on tour and playing it as it should be.
IMHO, as a musician for the last 60 years (bass player) and having seen many of the greats live (Jimi Hendrix, BB King, Jeff Beck and many more) I think Gary Moore is the greatest guitar player that ever lived and this performance may be the greatest guitar performance ever recorded.
What a legend.
The man The myth the Legend..(enough said)😎
Gary Moore was really special.
I think he's playing Peter Green's (Fleetwood Mac) famous guitar, Greeny. He owned and played it for quite a while. Like other's said, this is a Roy Buchanan song, who did a great version. Roy was a tragic figure. There are echos or callbacks or tributes to Roy's playing throughout this song (like singing effects using the volume knob, a Roy trademark thing). You should definitely check out some Roy songs or the old PBS special on him "The Greatest Unknown Guitarist In The World"
That guitar is famous. It's called Greeny Moore. It belonged to Peter Green who was part of the original Fleetwood Mac . Then Gary Moore owned and now it's on stage with Kirk Hammett of Metallica. He bought it for 2 million dollars. Its a 58 or 59 Gibson Les Paul known for its ability to sing and sustain.
Excellent performance & even better reaction!
RIP GARY, love you man 😅
# 777. Solid reaction. RIP Gary 🤙
Long live the king
Roy Bucahanan wrote this song. He's the OG good to see you guys. More please
This guy was an absolute MONSTROSITY on guitar.
Just thank you.
I’m Happy
I was just listening to GM today and wondered when You guys would get around to him!!! Cool. One of the oft forgotten greats. His duets with Blues greats are absolute musts. He could do it all. Towards the end he found an amazing groove in Blues , but he was a Rock and Metal master as well. Did amazing covers of Hendrix tunes on tour as well.
The guitar Gary is playing is called "Greeny" because it was originally owned by Peter Green of Fleetwood Mac. Kirk Hammett of Metallica now owns it and plays it regularly.
To go along with others, Still Got the Blues is awesome.. Gary doing Red House at the Fender anniversary is great too
There is just something about Roy Buchanan original from the seventies. His tragic life comes through in the lyrics. And if you haven’t listened to Roy, you will, get their eventually.
Still got the Blues, separate ways, empty rooms, Texas's blues all fantastic
R.I.P. Gary. 🎸🤘
Still got the blues live 1990 from hammersmith or the loner li e from sweden 87 i think it is.. But he was one of the few who knew when to blast it and not, 10 sec. Bursts, hes control of the instrument, feeling and sound, he could play every genre and he had a great voice to go with that.. the full package..
I had not heard this version. I am familiar with the version by Roy Buchanan. I simply cannot compare the two. Both musicians are immensely talented. Thanks for posting this version. Take care.
Gary Moore was an Irishman and the best in the world 🌎
Love it
Gary's sound makes my heart melt 🥰
Wow.❤️🙌
Gary Moore was from Northern Ireland, Belfast. I didn't know it was him but I first heard him when he was with Colosseum ll back in 1977, a rock fusion band. I caught them live on BBC radio one night and I recorded it on my cassette player. "Intergalactic Strut" and "The Inquisition" are some heavy hardcore prog fusion rock instrumentals that I listen to when I'm in the mood. I guess I kind of got into that music listening to Jeff Beck when the Wired album was released about the same time frame 1976-1977. Awesome guitar work with great musicians in the band!
Would recommend you check out Garys " Blues for Greeny " his version of Peter Greens music. His version of Peters " The Supernatural " is rather haunting.
Thank you for talking a moment to listen to him.
R.I.P. Gary
Finally got back to Gary Moore. Now it's time to get to Still Got the Blues and Parisienne Walkways.
He could take you to emotions, awe, raw speed but never sloppy. Truly a great
I always wanted his guitar since I first saw it when I was a teen. Never knew it was going to be such an iconic instrument. I think Gary is the one who made it be so of all its owners. I have a nice humble replica now and have no excuse to become a better guitarist.
His guitar named Greeny was originally owned by Peter Green, founder of Fleetwood Mac and someone who he greatly admired.Greeny is now owned by Metallicas guitarist.
Saw the great Roy Buchanan play this at the Orpheum Theater in Boston, 1972.
He was one of the best players on the planet!
Roy Buchanan gave us this song and Gary Moore perfected it.
Saw the great Roy Buchanan play this at the Orpheum Theater in Boston, 1972.
And this is why he’s in my top 5 guitarists of all time! (plus, he gets bonus points for being from my original home country!)
Peace
new subscriber for you and Gary
Thin Lizzy recruited world class guitarist🤘🤘
Gary played blues rock, rock, metal, jazz. He was from Ireland and has a deep catalog of his albums but also on in bands like Colosseum II, Skid Row, Thin Lizzy, he was a musicians musician & would step inas lead for bands in need when needed and his schedule would allow it. Another great guitarist from Ireland is Rory Gallagher.
he also does red house and voodoo child that Hendrix did. also very impressive. he started out with a rock band thin Lizzy
If you are going to do any more Irish guitarists , please have a look at the great Rory Gallagher .
Gary Moore was Great on this Song just as he is on any song he plays. Airplay Beats was Great also. Thanks Again
Wow, those were the waves, I thought his guitar was flying and it would never stop, Gary is a legend, one of the best, forever! 🎸🎸🎸🔥🔥🔥
Like all great virtuosos, such as SRV etc., Gary is channeling whatever you want to call it. It's breathtaking and glorious.
One of the guitar GOATS! Garry played with everyone. His John Mayall sets were amazing. Also with Buddy Whittington. Magic with a Les Paul.
Gary Moore was the truth on guitar. Dudes soul came thru his axe. Much like SRV. Special talent
