Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire is great, it's a fantasy-mystery kind of novel , but it's not high fantasy. The main character is ace and does not get involved in any romantic relationships in the book.
A really great contemporary YA book sans romance is Speed of Life by J.M. Kelly. It's about twin sisters in their senior year of high school, who are together raising the baby that one of them had the year before. It's a really moving and interesting story that really focuses on family relationships, life in poverty, and going after your dreams (one sister applies to college without telling her twin). My favorite thing was that there VERY easily could have been a romance (or two) established but the author was like... "nah, we don't need it."
Haha thank you for this list, I'm so tired of romance in YA books. I find that most of the time it just isn't realistic or written well, and I hate it whenever a male and female character of a similar age meet in a book (some )authors just automatically make them a couple. Give me platonic male/female relationships! Friends are great! I would also recommend the Chaos Walking trilogy (also by Patrick Ness) for great YA with very minimal romance :)

Hmm... it is hard to find fantasy YA without or with very little romance. Inkheart by Cornelia Funke has only a little romance invovling the main character. The first book in the series is entirely devoid of romance. Otherwise some of the Narnia books don't have romance, if they can also be classified as YA.
Radio Silence by Alice Oseman has just a tiny bit of romance (not between the main characters) and it's soo good (or if you like romance then go and read her webcomic heartstopper)
Magnus Chase by Rick Riordan is a great series where romance takes a backseat, I love that the main guy and girl are just friends and it's honestly my all time favorite series. I love it so much. And it is such an original story with diverse characters.
Cracked by Eliza Crewe-about a girl who steals people souls- focuses on friendship. Mind you there was little to some romance but it was not for the main character really and it was more of a case of being on the back burner
I really enjoyed "The Glass Arrow" by Kristen Simmons, precisely because it wasn't focused on the romance aspect. AND because it's a standalone! Definitely give it a shot :)

Seraphina, and by extension its sequel Shadow Scale, doesn't have all that much romance in it, as far as I can remember. It's a fantasy book about a world where dragons can shapeshift from their dragon form into a human form, and humans and dragons only recently started getting a long when they sign a peace treaty fifty years ago. The protagonist is a half-dragon girl named Seraphina who has to keep the fact that she'd half dragon hidden from people, and she'd investigating the murder of a prince because all the evidence looks like a dragon killed him, and she's trying to figure out exactly what happened to prevent and all out war. There is sort of a romance subplot, but it's not the focus of the story and it wasn't super prominent, though it has been a while since I read the book so my memory may be faulty. It's definitely only present in the first book, as the two characters spend the majority of the second book apart from each other with not much contact. Another great fantasy without any romance is Eon, which is set in a fantasy version of China and is about a girl named Eona who disguises herself as a boy so that she can practice dragon magic and become a dragoneye, which girls are prohibited from doing. It's kind of reminiscent of Mulan, but not exactly. It also has a sequel, Eona, though I haven't read it yet. The Chaos Walking trilogy also doesn't have much romance, really, but it's been years since I read those books so I can't really say much about them and I may be wrong. Basically, the main character lives in a town where everyone has "noise", which means that everyone can hear your thoughts, and you can hear everyone else's thoughts, and the virus that caused this also killed all the women in the town (except not really). From what I remember it's a bit like This Savage Song where the protagonists are friends, but they don't fall in love. The first book is called the Knife of Never Letting Go. This comment ended up being longer than I intended it to be.

THIS VIDEO GIVES ME LIFE also YA FANTASY THAT FEATURES (almost) ZERO ROMANCE: The Books of Pellinor by Allison Croggon--these books are absolutely beautiful and the world building and characters are amazing. The romance only happens in the epilogue of the last book which I like to pretend doesn't exist because I hate it!! but the books themselves are romance-free :)
I'm in a very happy relationship and love books without romance xD I have enough in my life, I don't need it also in my books :P I love The Book Thief! I have been looking at my shelf trying to find some fantasy books with little to no romance. Best I can find is Eragon by Christopher Paolini (though there is a romantic relationship featuring one of the side characters and the main character has feelings to someone else). Another series that I would recommend is Heist Society by Ally Carter (again, feelings but no real action).
Beautiful Broken Things by Sara Barnard has some romantic aspects but the main focus is on friendship and a bit on mental health. Frozen Charlotte is also a great book with no romance, if you like a YA horror story.
I love this list, Hailey. I'll definitely be looking into these books. As for others that fit into this category, I'd suggest "The Room on the Roof" by Ruskin Bond. It is a heartwarming and beautiful story about friends against a charming Indian backdrop.
The lion, witch, and the wardrobe, a series of unfortunate events, Harry Potter and the sorcerers stone, a wrinkle in time, there are quite a few that do not have romance.
The Saga of Darren Shan (Sometimes called the Cirque du Freak series) written by Darren Shan is a 12 book YA fantasy series that contains very little romance, there's a teeny tiny bit mentioned here and there but it's not focused on much at all ^^ And rhe Demonata series by the same author doesn't have much romance in either but that one's possibly more YA Horror than fantasy; it is still technically classed as YA fantasy on most websites and in most bookshops because of all the demons and monsters and different universes and stuff but there's a fair bit of gore in it. Also pretty much all the books Cornelia Funke has written are YA fantasy and contain very little romance, it is there because it has to be because of a few subplots but it's not focused on too much.

While I do admire your choices for this list, I feel like theses are some pretty heavy reads. While what I'm about to recommend is a middle grade book series (that's how it's marketed where I live) *and does contain some horror elements* I believe it's something less on the heavy side. But plenty middle grade books don't contain too much romance (kinda a given, but still). It's the Lockwood & Co series by Jonathan Stroud. It's set in a world where ghosts are some what normal, the catch being that only children can see them (4-18 yr olds I believe). You follow a young girl who goes to London to find a job. She has keen ears (she's able to hear the ghosties very well) and stumbles upon Lockwood & Co. You'll later discover what sets Lockwood from the other ghost hunting agencies (the field of work the girl is looking to get a job in). I really enjoyed it, it had some (extremely) creepy ghost moments, and fun and interesting characters, and a lot more. Since I enjoyed Lockwood so much I looked into some more of the author's work, and really enjoyed that as well. He's among my top 5 fave authors. His work (from what I've read) has no (or pokes fun at crushes and love) romance at all. Which is a huge win for me. And I assume you want no romance books if you're watching this video, so here's a recommendation. SIDE NOTE::: I do realize that this is a YA book recommendation video, so if you want to read a fantasy trilogy that's YA (that's how it's marketed where I live) i recommend The Bartimaeus trilogy. The Islands at the End of the World by Austin Aslan. Its a Post-Apocalyptic YA that takes place in Hawaii, and its about a girl and her dad trying to survive. Really great read!
The trials of apollo the hidden oracle by rick riordan doesn't really have romance. Relationships get mentioned but aren't really active throughout the story
The two Magnus Chase books that have come out so far also don't have romance in them... there is only friendship between Magnus and Sam. I don't know if the third book will have romance... but doesn't seem very likely

Everyone should read Between Shades of Grey, it is a really good book and discusses a topic that needs to be talked about more. However, if we're being technical there is a tiny bit of romance between the main character and this other character, but as you've mentioned the real meet of the story is about their families trying to survive the horrible situation they are forced into.
