  • At nine miles in length and roughly fifty miles of shoreline, Lake Hopatcong is New Jersey’s largest lake. Come along for a virtual summer drive along the winding, scenic roads which traverse the beautiful hills and mountains along the eastern shore (and a bit of the western shore) of this beautiful lake.
In this driver and passenger point of view (POV) driving tour we begin at the lake’s southernmost point in Landing, NJ with Lake’s End Marina in view. We’ll travel north along Mt. Arlington Blvd, Windermere Ave, Howard Blvd, Espanong Rd, and many of the smaller lakeside roads until we reach the lake’s northernmost point on Winona Trail in Lake Hopatcong. In between, we’ll pass views of the lake and many beautiful homes ranging from small summer bungalows to stone castles and everything in between. We’ll also view beaches, parks, country clubs, restaurants, marinas, shops and iconic spots such as Bertrand Island, Nolan’s Point, The Windlass Restaurant, The Jefferson House, Brady Bridge, and more.
Filmed in 4K Ultra HD video on July 24, 2022. Natural ambience and calming ASMR sound. (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response)

Wow. It’s almost unrecognizable to me from growing up on the lake in the mid 60’s to early 70’s.
The beach across from Shore Hill CC and Gutweins was recognizable as was the entrance on to Silver Springs road and the Nixon Elementary which was opened when I was in 3rd grade. I lived right below Nixon on Yellow Barn Ave and the entrance looks to have changed.
There was nothing but woods between Yellown Barn Ave and King Cove road where the old ice house was. I used to camp out and fish there in the summer.

What a beautiful lakeside town. I was there in the 70's. It looks so different now, but the small town charm is still there.

Right as you come out of Betrand Island at the top of the road at the stop sign. The restaurant across the road used to be the 4 Aces. Used to stop in there on my way home from delivering papers through Kings Cove.
