Thank you for the instructions! I just made the repair on my CX5 2016 Skyactiv. The most “expensive” part was buying the plastic tools to not damage the console. I only needed one tool to remove the console.
Great tutorial! As someone else mentioned, I had to dremel the aliexpress replacement holes a little. Other than that everything went smooth, 5 minutes job.
So happy to have found this my console clip has been broken for 6 years and I didn't know it was this simple and cheap to change. I however can not get my clip to budge at all even with an attempt to push it threw with another metal pin can't get enough to grab with pliers, any advice?
Hmm that'll be frustrating! I would rest the console on the ground (on a towel) then try tapping the pin out a bit with a hammer and punch (or end of a screwdriver if you don't have a punch), but I wouldn't go too hard as there's nothing supporting the plastic housing and you really don't want to tap hard enough to break that. And if gentle tapping didn't get it moving, I would spray some WD40 on it to try and lubricate it a bit. All presuming you're tapping it out the right way (the burred end going out) I'm not sure if its in reverse on a left hand drive car?
Good video. Helped me fix mine that my kid broke. Like you said, parenting!

Thank you very much. Watching the video twice took more time then the actual repair
Awesome - nice work!
Good video, I was astounded when the dealership were going to charge $95 for a $10 part and 10 minutes. Unbelievable.

@@gregandtarynsplace we got it out! Thank you!! 😊
Awesome!🥳
I figured it out! Turns out tho, the pin was always attached correctly, something else is wrong....
For some reason the pin in mine is glued to those plastic clips. Smh. I'm trying really hard to not break the entire thing from pulling the pin.
couldn't get the pin out to save my life!
Currently fighting with the pin for the last hour lol
