If you listen close it sounds like Mylo's voice taunting her in her hallucinations, which is doubly tragic. It's her still holding onto the insecurities he gave her when she was a kid. And it ties into how she seems unwilling to accept Mylo and Claggor's deaths, making effigy's of them everywhere so she can talk to them.

I might be overthinking this, but what if it’s a metaphor? She’s constantly tormented by intrusive thoughts/hallucinations that tell her everything was her fault, she’s to blame. She tries to ignore these deeper issues by distracting herself constantly trying to outdo herself in grand gestures, to prove to Silco that she can do something good for him. But in the end, she only damages herself further by pushing her mental/physical boundaries. In this scene, we again see her trying to de-escalate the war going on with the voices in her mind, opening up those inner wounds. She’s using the stapler as a distraction, an opportunity to try and prove she can do something good for herself, but the haphazard way she goes about it is self-sabotaging, hurting herself in the process. Sorry, it’s almost 2 AM and I’m sleep deprived and overthinking lol

All the voices in her head and all the hallucinations that’s she’s visioning reminds that she can still be alive even if she goes crazy and that reminder herself to keep going and what she wanted was to stop but as the voices kept going she got more and more crazier and she starts to hallucinate all the visions of her or her sister and she can’t control it unit she started that war
