  • Some basic instruction on how I load and unload my Hobie Outback mirage. I explain the use of a guy rope that I copied from another video on UA-cam as well as show the changes to my scupper cart design based on the Hobie cart design.

Thanks for the video. Just bought an outback and your method of using the guide rode mades the loading and unloading very easy and more importantly very safe. Thanks

I have the Mako saddles which are older but do the trick.

Nice video; I woud have the exact application. However, I am playying on aslo getting yakima saddles but do not know if they would work on the factory cross rails. Do you have any idea if they would? I want to say they are like an aeroblade rather than circle bars, what do you have/recommend for your cross rails

Thanks for watching and the comment! You should be able to get an adaptor for any rail. Your local rack shop should have them. I can recommend some in Portland, Oregon if you run into problems.

Did you use the Ford rails or get the Yakima complete system? Just got a predator 13 and the ford racks are trash for the most part

Thanks for the question! I have a Yakima rack. I picked one up used (there are a couple used rack stores in Portland). Tip - if you find a good deal on some longer bars, they can always be cut down.

+Billoo Pervez Thanks for the question and thanks for watching! I have an older Yakima rack with mako saddles. Both work great for my purpose.

Why not add a large carabiner to the rope, instead of tying the rope each time.

+Will Green Thanks for watching and the question! Your idea is spot on. I do use a carabiner instead of tying on the rope. I haven't had the chance to update the video. Thanks again!
