Aw soph, you talking about dating in your late 20s had me in tears. I’m 27 and have never been in a relationship and am struggling with all that. You give me hope while also acknowledging how hard it is. I definitely needed this. So thank you 💕
I only had short term flings in my early 20s that just never worked out. I met my husband at a mutual friend’s wedding when I was 28. We hit it off instantly and moved in together 4 months later (I’d also gone backpacking in Thailand for a month during that time- booked before I met him). Honestly, just live your life and follow your own path. If the right person comes along it will all work out. When I met him I was career focused, living with 3 friends and planning my travels. I’m married with two kids, I’m also a stay at home mum after his career really took off and it just made sense. My life is totally different to my ‘plan’ but I wouldn’t change it. The only thing I would change about my twenties is worrying about meeting someone ❤❤❤.
The best advice was given by Soph. Just wait and keep your standards high. I know how you feel, I remember it oh so clearly. I’m in my first proper relationship. To give you a hope, can tell that I’m 29 now, on the 2nd of August it’ll be 9 month since I’ve been on the first date with my love, 4 month since we are engaged and on the 4th of August we are getting married. Life is too unpredictable, don’t lose hope

I was 25 when I met my now husband. I'm now 41. I had had many short term relationships and I'd given up looking and just decide to be by myself and concentrate on working and chilling out being me. I decided I was going to stop clubbing etc then a family friend was having a surprise 50th birthday party, I wasn't going to go along and another family friend said come along just for a bit. It was only a small party, but I'm so glad I did. I stopped looking and then I guess because I wasn't stressing about it, I just meshed so well with the family friends son, it was so comfortable and natural, that it just felt completely genuine and right and here we are, after being 16 years together, 8 years married with two sons and I wouldn't change it for the world, because they are my world. Honestly, my best advice stop worrying or stressing over it, maybe even stop looking and take the pressure off yourself and you might just find the one! 🕊

I work on the endoscopy unit at my local hospital as a cleaner, there's been times where I've walked past the quiet room where someone's getting bad news and it always makes me sad

Unfortunately my mum was at stage 4 when she discovered bowel cancer, so she didn't make it. I would honestly recommend to everyone that if something doesn't feel right go to the doctor as soon as you can as it really can save your life!

I also agree with this! My dad ignored not being able to eat and died 2 weeks after finally admitting he needed to go to hospital as he didn’t feel well 🙄 I’ve lost both parents now to stupid cancer and it’s made me buck up my ideas not ignoring smears etc x

It took me 8 years to find the right person I'm 37 and finally found the one never give up it happens when least expect it x
I really like that things have changed since I was younger as people didn’t really speak about anxiety and mental health and it’s nice that you and other people will talk about it now, it helps to know I’m not the only person with anxiety and mental health so thank you. x

I’m so sorry to hear about your dad having cancer, Soph. My mom was diagnosed with cancer 2 months ago and just had a major operation last week (don’t know if it was successful or not yet) and it has been some of the hardest months of my life. Stay strong and I’m giving so much love to your and your family 💛
P.s. my mom is recovering surgery very well and feeling a lot better.

I hope your dad is well. Royal Marsden is an amazing oncology hospital. I remember them from when I used to work with arranging medical deliveries for oncology patients and they are very much at the forefront of research. Such a worthy cause!

Hey Soph, my dad had prostate cancer quite a few years back. I'm so glad to hear your dads surgery went well. It's a scary time, especially when you first hear. I was in the same boat, no one I knew had cancer so I was terrified. Dad is all good now and has been for years. It took hyim quite awhile to get his energy back but now it's like it never happened! He unfortunately had a heart attack this year, but I gotta say, he's an absolute trooper. Quadruple bypass and now he's running around right as rain all over again

I lost my mom to cancer and my grandma because she needed heart surgery and they didn't do it soon enough. I still have trauma from it. I always love watching your videos and you're one of, if not the best, beauty UA-camrs I've seen. We lost my Grandfather to prostate cancer in 1974. That was before they made all the advancements in treatment that they have now. I wish your Dad a full recovery and that he has no more problems with it. Love you Sophie.
Hi Soph, I am so happy for you your family and your father on being able to overcome that hurdle. The C word is so scary. It can be overwhelming, especially the unknown and how one can get through it. But so glad you guys made it through. As a cancer survivor myself from stage 4 Hodgkins Lymphoma, I understand the anxiety that you must have felt and the fear. It took a huge toll on my physical emotional and mental health during my battle. But now I'm grateful to be on the other side and hearing others getting through it too. You and your family will continue to be in my prayers 🙏 thank you for sharing. I'm sure it was quite hard being open about something serious and private such as that.

Sending ❤. I’m so sorry to hear about your dad and very glad he’s on the mend. Parents being ill like that can absolutely shake you to your core, no matter what age or stage of life you’re at. My dad has a very slow growing prostate cancer that they don’t want to operate on (if I remember correctly it’s because my dad is a lifelong cyclist who does a few hundred miles a week and he may have to it up due to the position of the cancer and it would hugely affect his quality of life and his health). He’s 77, still incredibly active doing hundreds of cycling miles a week, a great dad and possibly even a better grandad to my children- and our dog!! I remember the early days of anxiety though. If anything it’s made me appreciate time with loved ones even more and even had a positive impact on my priorities. There is plenty of time for kids and stuff- it does feel like a lot of pressure at the time though. It changes your life so much overnight. It also gave my anxiety even more things to worry about 🙈. My BFF doesn’t have children and never wanted them- our lives are very different day to day but it makes no difference to our closeness- we just had to adapt! She’s also been fab with understanding that I just can’t do our 40th birthday trip to New York (a pinky promise made when we turned 21) but when we finally do it a few months after our 41st birthdays it’ll be equally amazing 🤩.

As a Canadian, I highly recommend going to Vancouver and/or Vancouver Island. British Columbia stunning! I am from Ontario and while it’s nice, the mountains out west are breathtaking! Just check out when the rainy season is! 😀

I hope that your Dad's recovery is continuing to go well ❤Cancer is something that sadly runs in my family and I've had a couple scares of my own so if you ever need someone to talk to who gets it I'm always around.
On a less serious note: I would loveeeee to see you stream eventually, but you are absolutely right about lines being a bit more blurred compared to youtube. Everything feels a bit more personal which can be great but also terrible. Highly suggest starting out with co-streams to get the feel for it all, definitely helped me out when I first started. You already make an incredible guest star to James's streams ★ And if you ever need a mod you know where to find me lol

Omg Soph I can totallllly relate on the doing other peoples make-up part. I'm not a UA-camr or influencer but I learned to do my make-up by watching it. I always get compliments about it and then people start asking to do theirs but I really can't! 😂 I find it so difficult and awkward! And my hands get so shaky when I need to hold them in the air... I don't want to do someone else's make-up ever! 😅

I’m still fairly new as a subscriber to your content. But I totally at 8:16 understand what you mean when hearing the word cancer, my dad was told he had four weeks to live the day I past my driving test. We found out he had cancer everywhere and originally he wasn’t going to be able to have treatment.
The primary tumour was in his lungs.
Sadly he passed away over Easter weekend (was his favourite holiday) and my emotional support and beloved dog died of a heart attack on the Easter Sunday (day after)
I am so glad to hear that your dad is in safe hands and our nhs is just that wonderful.
My dad was given chemotherapy up until January this year and it pushed the cancer back and we had one last Christmas last year together, but I teared up remembering how afraid I was the day I got the news.

You will need lots of fairy lights, a sofa, storage for all the PR packages, office chair, desk, flooring, paint the walls, put up mirrors and cool framed make-up brands. A unit for all of your makeup & a rug because if you dont make it cosy then your voice might be echoing in a transformed garage lovely. You should have a water station and a hot chocolate station with lots of your mugs displayed on floating shelves 😁👍

Luckily he was able to get through chemo recently and has been feeling better.
