How to beat / get past ATS Applicant Tracking Systems software with your Resume with 1 simple trick

- Опубліковано 21 бер 2020
- When you submit a resume an Applicant Tracking System (ATS), which is a software program that companies use, will use machine language and artificial intelligence to scan your resume and look for keywords to match. The software will decide to pass your resume onto a hiring manager or send you a thanks but no thanks email. I was in this position 6 months ago and figured out a simple trick on how to beat these ATS systems and get your resume to a hiring manager. For the record, I'm not selling anything or want anything. I am not asking you to join anything or subscribe to anything, I created this video for a few friends of mine and decided to post on UA-cam to help as many people as I can.
My man woke up and said forget tailoring I’m taking the whole job description with me 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Clever. I'll give this a try. Can't be worse than the results I've been getting.
Any luck with using what you’ve seen here?
How’d it go?
Be encouraged. Something will come through for you and it will be the perfect opportunity, Mike.
@@14Ayris legend says he’s still trying it.
Update: He is still trying
Being an HR myself and after working on dozens of ATS, I can safely say that I would reject the resume (like I do usually in just seconds) because we look for keywords that match with the JD. And these keywords automatically get highlighted to every resume that we receive. Here I won't be able to see any highlights plus I won't have what I really want or its just a waste of time for me if it doesn't match. (No incentives as well) Just use some words from the JD sparingly such that it looks that you've put it naturally. And you'll be on the top of the HR search. All the best. !
Can you share few more tips. Really need them
My background is in Human Resource Management as well. My resume is also posted on LinkedIn and Craigslist. Am I supposed to make corrections to trick the ATS for every position I apply for?
At my previous employer before Covid-19. The CEO reform the hiring process so the company can make sure they're doing a better job hiring people from underrepresented backgrounds. A big piece of the process was doing away with the applicant track system that weed out applicants in the early recruitment stages. But because the ATS the company used required submission. I was unable to make it optional. His philosophy was if you can prove you can do the job, who cares if you went to college.
So to test his theory, I had taken the time to go through candidates the ATS automatically rejected early on. I would manually look at these résumés and say, WOW, this individual really does bring the skills we need for the position. Which was a big indication that we really need to scrub the ATS and start over.
HR is not a technical person how can judge the person with cv
@@giriabhilash1 That's why HRs use ATS. Keywords in JD should match with the Resume.
Working for HR is it true that a resume has to be one page
This probably would of worked in the early days of ATS but I wouldn't be surprised if modern day ATS systems highlighted the key words it found for the recruiter and then all of a sudden the recruiter would see a white area highlighted in yellow. Your better off just editing your resume that mention the keywords as well as making your resume more easy for the ATS to scan
Its is okay to do. At the end of the day we are asking human to judge us, not ATS. ATS for me is just a time saving tool, so it okay to bluff it.
Our first job is to pass the ATS as we are not getting any calls from HR.
You just feed me the breakfast I needed this morning. I have sent resume for jobs without no reply. With what I learned from your video. I am in it to win it from now hence forth. Thanks!
You are a genius man, beat the system. We all must have that job. That was crazily smart. I want the recruiters to cue in to book an interview with me.
Putting your graduation date is a NO. This is how companies discriminate based on age.
I just hit the subscribe button ,I have been jobless for 7 years i think this trick will come in handly thank you alot
Did it works?
Wow!!! This is an AHA moment for me! Super, super thank you for this video!
I've never seen like that 🙂it was awesome! I guess just an Iranian guy can find out this trick. Well done bro 😇🙌
Very clever, but less likely to work as companies update their ATS. There are some basic rules however: 1) your file name MUST be less than 30 characters, otherwise it’s deleted right off the bat. 2) No special characters or accents in the file name. DON’T spell resume as résumé, use CV instead. This is especially true for WorkDay. 3) Pay attention to your headers and section titles. Use ‘Work History’ instead of Work Experience and DO NOT USE THE ‘tab’ key at all. It messes up the formatting and confuses the ATS. Good luck!
The key thing is too make sure the words are matched with the job description
Hi can i send my cv for you in email to chick it please
I've been denied to almost every job I have applied to. I get the same computed response. Then I look up hacking the resume software and there are videos all over the place about this. I'm back boys. Today will mark victory. God speed muchachos
This hack worked for u?

Game changer!!!!! You just changed my life. Thank you for sharing.
It worked for you that's great.
Congrats bro
Did that work for you?
ATS systems are the worst. They don't work and they weed out amazing people. Our company did away with ATS and went back to the 3 person read and review submit system. Never put your staff requirements in the hands of HR, your company will suffer and great candidates will slip through the cracks.
dude! my mind is blown. I've been having the same issues. this is such a great trick
Did u get a job?
@@psychologicalpotatoe na, the next day I saw a vid of a recruiter stating that they've caught on to this strat
Thanks so much for your useful tips. You made a great video!
This ATS thing has been a real eye opener.
bro you are amazing. God bless you man.
This trick is dope🤓. Thanks a ton Mr. Seraj.
Recruiters caught on to this according to many who work in HR. The Resumes were matching at too high of a Percent. 2yrs ago it would've worked but now the ATS are now advance and can pick up the hidden white Text. This Resume would raise a Red Flag and get Rejected based on what HR Recruiters have said about this Trick.
Well yeah all they have to do is watch this video lol And WOW there ya go they are alerted to this scheme.
This video has only been watched 68k times, that is not much at all.
Plus, what if they miss the perfect candidate because they used this trick? Or the ATS "Thought" they did... which is an absolute catastrophe for the employer...
That was a really cool trick. Sure to try. Thank you.
A neat trick and may have worked to beat an ATS back in 2020 and may still work for some less sophisticated ATS systems but all the research and advice I've gotten is not to include hidden keywords from the job description like shown in this video because most ATS's have caught up to this trick and RED FLAG the resume.
Your the best bro. Thanks for the trick
After trying this my ats rating is 76% but in past that was just 30% love this tricks, hope this tricks will works on employers also. Love u man
where you find a ats rating report mate?
what programme do you use to make your CV ?

This is absolutely brilliant and will be implementing this process immediately.
any luck?
did it work?
That is probably the best resume advice I have seen in a long time. Got to play the game.
Damn, that's smart although I'd wanna be a 90% to 95% match so that it doesn't seem suspicious.
Pro tip: instead of doing this try updating your summary section (or profile in resume) and try to include as much as possible keywords from the job description
Do you think it would work? My resume is posted on Indeed and LinkedIn . Am I going to have to make a correction to my resume for each job I apply for to trick the ATS?
I'd be shocked if anyone tried this and it actually worked.
Awesome tips and tricks. Thanks.
Amazing .. brilliant .. well done dude
You're brilliant! Thank you!

BOOM! Nice tip!
To keep it a buck…. Ive only gotten one job from submitting an application on a job platform. All my jobs have been from a referral. I think that’s the way to go or a staffing company!

Have you tried ??
Bro you are legend😀
You really beat the machine.

Career Advisor here: Do NOT do this. Many ATS have filters for this and your application will automatically get discarded. and it looks like he was using headers in his resume. Don't do that either. Many ATS cannot read data in headers and footers.
What do you suggest we do then, Glenn? I have been having this issue for some time now.
I agree with you, this may seem like a hack but it's more of a cheat. Better to select keywords in the job description and try to integrate in the resume to get it through the ATS to the hiring manager's hands . Takes some time, but won't make you look lazy as if you just paste the job description into the resume. Also, ATS's don't play nice with PDF's, so that is bad advice as well.
@@benjaminsmith9175 Are you familiar with Jobscan? If not Google it. Meanwhile, for resumes submitted to websites, lift the keywords from the job posting and include them in your resume where they make sense. You can use the same keyword multiple times. Then, at the very bottom of your resume, list the keywords as a paragraph using the same size of font which is visible . This is ethical. For example you could list Zoom in your Technical Skills section near the top of your resume, in your work experience, and at the bottom of your resume in this final section. This last section is just to improve your keyword score. Delete it when forwarding your resume to another person. BTW, 80% of all jobs today are filled with some form of networking. If your primary strategy is to check job search engines, that's like counting on the lottery for retirement planning.
@@grfritos he is an career advisor, whatever that means. NOT an recruiter. Don't take his advice.
Ok Saint Glenn, so your suggestion is to play the long and sincere game with crooked corporates even if rent is due next month. Nice advice. Ain't nobody in this world like Jesus. Unlike you , not everybody is a Las Vegas high roller too. So, people have to fight for their survival cause again not everybody got a rich daddy for supplies. You need any more reasons to understand the f**** up situation in this world grandpa?
GENIUS THANKS
hats off!!!
what a trick man/
Sharpest guy!!!
As far as I’m concerned..ATS is giving the wrong people the jobs
Yep, most people don't even know about this crap
Yes, so basically hiring managers are looking at resume writing skills other than work related skills. Will leave so many deserving guys unemployed

WTF did I just watch? 😂 This is Brilliant haha. Thanks Dude.
the trick looks very nice and satisfying. is there anyone who has seen the result or a change?
I have never laughed this hard at midnight 🤣🤣🤣. Dude
I came up with this exact same idea years ago. I implemented it slightly differently. I went to a few big job sites and found hundreds of job ads doing what I do and took all the keywords in all the ads. Then placed it exactly how Joshua did. I never thought of doing it like he does, using the exact job ad itself. This is genius. Thank you Joshua
What about situations where you have to complete the 'online' application? In these cases, attaching the resume is optional, but the 'online' portion is required.
i was laughing untill my stomach pain.....anyway nice idea bro...will try this too.........
this Guy is criminal
Thanks for sharing.
There's an argument for both sides. Yes, ATS systems can be configured in a way to automatically filter out candidates. A good company will look to configure their ATS to keep this as fair as possible. I understand the whole process can be longer winded and frustrating. However, some jobs can get hundreds and sometimes thousands of applications and there is no way the company can manually review each application. Unfortunately, it is what it is. I've seen them setup where the pre-app screening questions (this is before you add your CV and fill in the application sections) will having scoring against the answers, and if you choose the "weaker" answers, the system will automatically reject you. However, more companies are now using psychometric tests to filter out candidates.
Dude you are a freakin Genius, and I bet you already know it.
HAHAHAHAHA :D ... Really unique solution to beat and crack the ATS systems with one click .. I have never seen Sth like this before :D Brilliant and Genius

Okay i see y'all asking if anyone has ever tried this and if it actually works. I once worked as part of an HR analytics project for a company that uses ATS as part of their hiring process. Here is how it works at least for that company, once your CV hits their ATS you are automatically screened if you are not within a certain range ie below 75% for example, now if your CV hits 100% you are also flagged and according to their parameters you are weeded out automatically, secondly their ATS doesn't read your CV as a pdf or word, it is automatically converted to a txt file and they can easily see this. To make matters worse their ATS has a similarity software embedded into it that automatically checks if you have just plucked words from the job description onto your CV and a very high similarity disqualifies you even though your CV may have been in the acceptable range. Lastly it uses Algorithm that dynamically compares your CV to a CV that resembles a talented individual for the role an then ranks you based on that. Though there are still ATSs that just screen CVs based on words in the JD, the trend is slowly moving towards the above and you never know how advanced the ATS your CV ends up being subjected to.
*above 75%
Yes there have been people saying they did similar jobs and would be a good fit bit their resume fit too much and they didn’t get any replies. They were not trying to game the system.
So essentially, what should applicants do exactly? Also, could you perhaps have a look at my CV...if you okay with it, I'd love to hear what you have to say about it. Thank you! Please send me your email if you're okay with it
That's it...I' m gonna sow some seed on my soil
