There are actually wood nails that operate under the same principle. A nailgun fires wooden dowels into a hole, the friction binds the two wood types and makes it one solid piece without glue.
Wherein both substrates/base materials merge and exchange. That's absolutely what's happening. The cellulose fibers are frayed and enmeshed, the lignin melts and flows creating an exchange and bond through friction and pressure. This is absolutely welding and melting.
i would say its wood welding because wood is a term used for everything that makes it up including the bonding material. when its welded together it interweaves the wood fibers and solidifies together much like metal welding. i could be wrong but i see this as it being welded in the same way metal is.
Technically, he's not wrong. Wood is the natural co posit of cellulose, hemicellulose, lignin, and other compounds. So by removing one, you've changed the material to something other than wood. And cellulose is a sugar and can melt under the right atmosphere and temperature conditions. And the wording is intentional, and not for PURELY click-baiting. He's trying to get kids and adolescents to grasp the difference between colloquial use and technical use. Also, just to get you to ponder how it's possible and what variables would need to be in play.
What the hell did i just learn how do to cause wood by my sence of whats going on is yes wood melted but i dont have dunction foe making wood do this but i beleive the words he said but i dont think thats how welding works have i ever known of way your can wwld glue, no, but does this serve a funtion of i just need to glue some wood cause glue works fine for basicly ever wood loves glue and wood doeant really like epoxy but it loves glue
The only wood you can melt with friction is Morningwood.
Lol, 😂 😆 😂 😅

If you look up the definition of welding it says two materials put together with heat and pressure that would make this welding

melt wood? to "weld" wood together 'it's' called GLUE!
So basically welding. Melting the cellulose(sugar) and lignin(basically plastic)
Cellulose doesn't melt but lignin does.
I wonder what would happen if we used Cypress wood in this kind of experiment. It's a hard-wood that has a high concentration of resin.
Well, i tried this. I went to the Cypress Hill, but it was way to smokey to see, and everytime i forgot why i was even there

I need to get me a vacuum chamber cause i just got into the medium of resin art and i need a vaccume chamber
Interesting
Do schools still teach this cause i leaened this in like grade school wood burns liqued based thing melt
??????????

If fire doesn't burn the wood why does the wood become ashes it's only gases were being burnt
I call it Char-coal
Wth is wood welding? Thats not how welding works
