It's not about any of that LOL. The visual symbolism perhaps, but the song is about women's strength in a face of hardships (such as war, but not specifically).
Love this reaction. First singer who is singing is actually Jerry and a rapper is Alyona. Fun fact, she actually used to be a school teacher before she became a rapper.
Performance basically reflects the song. Jerry appears as a woman who walks through terrainous path, reflecting suffering Ukrainian women (people) went through for decades, culminating in what is happening now, with the phosphorus like bombs falling down as she reaches the top, and (presumably) dies.
Alyona Alyona is surrounded by the shadows of the ancestors, who are watching over Ukrainians now. Jerry appears on the screen, presumably becoming Holy and joining ancestors.
All women at the end, are Ukrainian women who persevere despite what is happening now.
(This is the way I understood the performance, as a Ukrainian- I am sure it goes even deeper than this) 💙💛

Hi! I'm from Kherson, a city in the south of Ukraine. You all know about us... You know about the occupation, then about Chernobayevka, then about 11.11.22 (about the liberation of Kherson), then about the blowing up of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Station by Russian troops and the major flooding, all this time 24/7 russian troops (we call them "orcs") systematically destroy my city. I was and remain here. I'm a volunteer. It's impossible to convey in a few sentences all the pain that russia has caused us. And of course, not only to Kherson, but to the whole, ALL! of Ukraine! Many have died, many are fighting and will continue to fight. Our girls, mothers, grandmothers - they are the ones who deserve to bear the title of saints, they are our rear, they always think about those who are at the front. This is what this composition is about! I am very grateful to our representatives at Eurovision for sending such a message! You all - all the people of Europe, all the people of democratic countries must understand that EVIL is happening now, it needs to be stopped! Ukraine is now an outpost. If this is not done - there may not be another Eurovision. There will be a world war. This is the depth of this song! Please take this seriously! Otherwise, you will hear air raids and exploding shells nearby, just like I hear them now and all the time since 24.02.22!

The rap part is sang by Alyona Alyona) This song is about strong women of Ukraine who despite the realities of war have to work, raise their children and wait for their sons and husbands who protect our land. In a rap part it is about all the expectations that a modern woman has to face: to look pretty, to be successfull, to be a wife and a mother and to have a beautiful body...which is basically a demand and noone should face these struggles because each woman must decide her own fate!

And in the rap part, it's about overcoming the pressure from the society and obstacles, with the support from ancestors being always with us. "Teresa" is Mother Teresa who was revered all over the world for her humanitarian work, and "Maria" is Virgin Mary (Maria).

Props for recognizing the absolute mastery in Jerry Heil's singing. She has been at it for a while and is actually now studying film scoring at Berkley College of Music. And Alonya Alonya is IMO one of the best rappers to come out of the whole European continent. Go check out her whole catalog. I love that she raps in Ukrainian too because it seems like such a fun bouncy language to rap in. Alot of her lyrics are like a whole metaphor sandwich, layers and layers, which is probably why it doesnt translate very well.

The song and the performance itself are full of symbolism. Jerry Hale's outfit is a burnt dress (a symbol of the fire of war). The river that spills under your feet is blown up by the explosions of the Ikakhovka hydroelectric power station.
