What a great video tour, with an index jump list in the description! You both have excellent camera performance, steady pace, articulate but natural voices, still not a second was wasted in explaining the essentials of your floating home. All my best wishes for you in 2022!
i really lliked your tour. it was more down to earth than a lot of others i,ve looked at. seemed more practical and doable. i appreciate your sharing. thank you so very much. p.s. i am from alberta, canada, live in the north near peace river, so no chance of living on a long boat but it is so interesting to see how it is done. and i feel jealous that you have such freedom in your gypsy-type life on water.
So enjoyed such a wonderfully comprehensive tour of your lovely boat. Great use of space. Dupe’s home is awesome, inspiring to see so much thought and love put into his needs and comfort😍
@@BoatTime I do.. and think you are such an inspiration and shining example to pet owners. I’ve a thing about pet rabbits and the awful life some have, shut away alone in cold cages. Seeing the love and care you give to Doops is so lovely .. and sweet Rupert of course❤️🥰
Thanks so much for this video, I am currently looking to move onto a boat & am a big gamer myself. Really glad you have found a way to game whilst off grid as it was a bit of a worry of mine haha. Do you have to run the engine when you are using your computers?
A really good and informative video ! Well done , you both come across as lovely people and I really enjoyed your video. I have just found your channel and have just subscribed to you. I look forward to watching more of your videos. Thank you
I have two house rabbits and we're considering moving onto a canal boat from a house so seeing your rabbit was so useful for me to see how it would work😅😍
Aw amazing!! It deffo works! We also see a lot of people who’s bunnies have setups under the bed for free roaming too! It can deffo work 🐰 good luck!! X
@@BoatTime thank you but I think that's where you replace the grease. I'm sure there's one where Wes tightens it up with like...a wrench or something to stop the leak. We've got the same issue!
Hey! it’s from Nabru sofas, they have a special section on their website for narrowboat sofas. You can also choose how firm, but we found ours to be super comfy even after 2 years 😊
Loved watching this again.... we were worried about your kitchen roll which seems to be hanging over your hob ??! We were concerned it might catch ! Xx
Just wondering whether your 'slight bilge leak' might just be a case of refreshing and pushing through the grease reservoir that feeds the stern gland around the prop shaft, or perhaps the packing in the gland needs replacing. Just a thought Great videos, keep 'em coming. Inspiring me as I'm getting close to making my own purchase...
Yeah we've done a bit of tightening of screws and repacking of glands and it seems to be a bit better these days! Thank you so much, and good luck with your boat hunt!! 🤩🤩
Thank you so much for watching 🤗 Yes, for sure! We like the name Gregory’s girl but it doesn’t feel personal to us so we definitely plan to change the name! 🫣xx
Love the changes from the 1st tour. I noticed you don’t have the small shelf/cabinet you got at Christmas did you find it took up to much room.? I can see you have to be very careful with choosing items so not to take away space. I could be very happy living there also. Not sure if you said what is the length of the boat? I remember you working on taking the name off awhile back I would imagine it’s a pain in the rear doing that. Will you be changing the name some day? Thanks again for sharing with us. Do you think you would ever want a wide beam years from now? I can understand why folks love them just hate you can’t go everywhere on them. Thanks again, Susan
Thanks Susan! This tour was filmed a little while ago, just before we got the little cabinet, but we do still have it 😊 It's still sideways though... a little odd but much better than our former 'pile of many things' 😂 We've got a 50ft boat, with a cruiser stern, so we have a bit more space outside in exchange for a little less inside - but it's a worthwhile sacrifice for us given that we're both out there together, often with Rupey and Rufus! It's really hard to get the old names off. It was easier in the summer when the sun would warm up the side of the boat, but it's much more stubborn in the cold. Looks like another job for the spring/summer jobs list! 😅 We've been thinking of changing the name at some point, but not sure when. Perhaps if we were to repaint it it'd be a good time then, but we're in no rush 😊 We would consider a wide beam; perhaps if we still wanted to live on a boat but we'd travelled the majority of the network and wanted to settle down somewhere. Like you say, they're great but a bit more restrictive travel-wise. Thanks for the comment! ♥
Hello! I love your boat tour, such a lovely home you’ve made. I was wondering how it worked keeping the front doors to the cratch cover always open? Do you feel safe enough and how have you found the winter? I’m on a 23ft boat (tiny!) and much prefer when the front doors are open but I feel a bit exposed xx
Hey Emma! Thank you so much! 🤗 We have found the winter just fine and have been able to keep the boat warm and toasty even with the doors open 95% of the time! The temperature in there stays really mild in the cratch and we have blocked up the side water flow holes to stop the draught. In terms of safety, we generally feel really safe with them open as we use things like curtains to block so nobody can see in, and it allows us to be able to hear whats happening around the boat more. We have stood on the tow path at multiple angles and you cant actually see into the bedroom from the path so that really helps. If we are in a more built up area or not too sure about the area we do bring doops inside and shut them however, but most of the time we feel safe enough to leave them open! And obviously we shut and lock them when we leave the boat unattended :) hope this helps! x
Hi guys! do you have the Pc monitor connected to the 240 volt appliances? also did the Pc eat away at your battery life an awful lot ? the inverter must be pretty big !
Hey! We do! We only run the 24” monitor in 1920x1080 at 60Hz so it doesn’t actually draw much power. These days they’re all so eco conscious it works quite well for us! We have a 2kW inverter that handles it easily 😊
@@BoatTime ah that amazing, just moved onto my boat and was weighing options with my gaming Pc and possibly swapping for a laptop for brief intervals of gaming along with a similar monitor, thanks for replying!
Its not really a thing that happens luckily, there's usually lots of it about on everyone's roofs and its pretty hard to haul off and try and carry away quickly.
Something you can do, is sewing custom made window shades, that are thermal and sew in magnets and just put them on the windows when you need them
Love it ! Homely and just right 💕🌹💕🌹
Thank you so much ☺️💕
You are just charming! Enjoy your time and work together!

That's so lovely Lisa thank you 💓 doesn't happen that often anymore haha!
I love it, and if I had a boat, I'd fence it off in the same way for my cat and put on a hook, for her lead so she wouldn't escape
Really informative- thank you 😊

Saw ur sign from Apex NC. I live about 2 hours from there. Did u pick it up or one of u from there?
Wes' sister lives there and we have visited once and loved it 😊
Your mystery button with your horn and headlight that's not working might be for navigation lights if you need them fitted????????
Ah it could be!! Not sure we've tested whether that's connected or whether they're on when the headlight is on, we'll have to give it a go!

I (Wes) can confirm that I don’t do everything 😅
💕You could buy a shower with an on/off water flow switch💕Get in wet your body turn off wash turn on & rinse off saving you water💕
We do need to improve our shower pump for sure! 😊
Curious what knot it is you use to tie up your boat...
We can’t remember the name exactly, but it’s something like the boat man’s hitch 😂🪢
Is it colder in the winter time, living in a boat?
It can be! But we have our multi fuel stove that keeps us warm 🥰 if anything we overcompensate and make it too hot 😂

It would have been nice but people have these big nasty dog's inside laying on everything so you know it's nasty and dirty in the inside of this boat
