Not just in the Sopranos. They did it sadly in every movie or tv-show set in New York City. Take for example Sex and the City and Friends. Glad they restored them a few years after, but still disappointing to see not for the remainder. Would have done so much more justice.

Drove truck on the NJTP often during that time. Every time I hear the theme I remember the sights, sounds and smells of NJ. The "DRIVE SAFELY" logo graced a storage tank in the Exxon refinery which was usually my destination.

The music, the setup, the camera angles.......like the way it focuses on the WTC in the mirror at 0:17 but the lens pulls back and it 'rocks' the image so its not entirely stable. Drove truck on the NJTP often during that time. Every time I hear the theme I remember the sights, sounds and smells of NJ. The "DRIVE SAFELY" logo graced a storage tank in the Exxon refinery which was usually my destination.

The intro is definitely a bit long winded at times but it’s just so good and so simple at the same time. The song will never leave my head too.

Being a Jersey a guy, people don't get how much this man and this show meant to all of Jerseyans! He is always in our hearts and every week my girlfriend,now wife would be glued to the set and get goose bumps when this shows intro came on. I was so incredibly fortunate to have met Jimmy Gandolfini at a meet and greet.He was such a warm man,quiet and cordial! We love Skipper.We all miss you so much!

I thought Breaking Bad was amazing, but then I moved onto The Wire and then The Sopranos and it just got blown out of the water. Still a great show but those two are immense.
Breaking Bad is a great show but you shouldn't even compare it to Sopranos. Sopranos is just in another league.
I love The Sopranos and Breaking Bad about even. I'd like to think that while The Sopranos is going on in NJ, the events of BB are going down in New Mexico.

Am I the only one who thinks the Sopranos intro is a work of television art in itself? The music, the setup, the camera angles.......like the way it focuses on the WTC in the mirror at 0:17 but the lens pulls back and it 'rocks' the image so its not entirely stable. I don't know, it all just works :)
