Nicely done...you made the empire look terrifying, the way they should be. We know from the movies and the video games that the rebels had to be very careful and avoid straight up confrontations with the empire.

I do like the concept behind the Starhawk! Those tractor beams would certainly be fun to play with in a short film. Amusingly, I think this video was in the works before they even revealed the design, haha.
there is NOTHING MORE SATISFYING then seeing the imperial navy being COMPETENT and also using the same ships as the rebels because they are so common and perfect as anti-fighter escorts and scout pickets and there is no reason why the empire would not use them. also the EXECUTOR JUST SMASHING through that Nebulon-B was very cool.
That is so inaccurate! The Empire didn't use the same ships as the rebellion because everything they manufactured was superior to the rebellion fleet! There were many ships that could outmatch the blockade runner
i've always pictured built up planets having multiple 1,000's of starfighters. in that one book they talk about how they got 25,000 starfighters together from a few planets to attack the death star.

the only problem with that is the Empire can replace its losses much easier then the Rebels can especially early on and every planet or infrastructure is just a big target. that's why the rebels had to go for quantity because the empire quilt literally DROWN them in any larger engagement.
Must have been a slow day for the Imperial navy, sending two sectors worth of ships to do the work of two to three Star Destroyers. The Rebels probably had a field day hitting all the places they left unguarded.

I got the impression it was a local defense fleet trying to protect their home: no fall back. May have been early in the Rebellion, too, given no X-Wings and lots of Z-95 Headhunters - before the Rebs learned not to try and fight an Imp fleet head-on, capital ship to capital ship.

Farseer Animation I still play it today, but I actually didn’t grow up in that era, my dad introduced me to 90’s era games, stuff like Mechwarrior 2, Master of Orion 1 and 2, XvT, Heroes of Might and Magic 3, etc. :)
Really is too bad we're not getting more of IMPS The Relentless. Their animation is far better, and their live action humor is top notch. Even Disney emulated their style.

My question is: Why didn't evey rebel focus everything on the Interdictor? There was NO way they were going to beat the whole fleet, but if they took out the Interdictor at least some of the population could evacuate. Still, it's a really well done movie. Congradulations.
Might be hard to see but there are actually 6-7 Interdictors. I guess it doesn't help that almost every imperial ship just looks like a gray triangle at a distance so most viewers don't seem to notice the other Executors either, haha
Except that DP20s are anti starfighter and built for battles. It drives me crazy to see people depicting CR90s as out-gunning and out surviving DP20s. They are literally called a gunship, while CR90s are modified civilian ships. Other than that, really fun vid.
Still canon-appropriate, though I doubt that an Imperial fleet during the Galactic Civil war would roll up with CR90 Corvettes (or at least so many). And Nebulon-B frigates would be a RARE sight being used by the Empire. Nice touch with the Z95s being used by the planet for defense. Very likely that would be all they had.
Just as the Imperial ships line up their shots and start firing, a maverick Republic Admiral arrives with a big enough force to put paid to the destruction before it can wipe out a planet. Thereafter, with the report it had received, the Republic commits a sizeable force to contend until fresh forces can reinforce the line.

This is what an intelligent fleet makeup is. Plenty of support and anti-starfighter ships. The empire was too slow to adapt to starfighter tactics. They were too set in capital ship warfare which the alliance avoided like the plague.
not necessarily the rebels were very good in hampering imperial research and dont forget they are rebels aka the empire was Always on the defensive and almost could never attack a heavy blow since there was almost no bases since it was an insurgency and not a government. if the rebels were more like the CIS well lets just say the imperials made sure the CIS was wiped out so one ited was this match
not to bad, i am sure you're learning the software, good job. i have always wondered, so they look cool from behind, and yes its all fictional, but when playing games like "empire at war", SW strategy games, like oldschool world or warcraft(not mmo, the origionals) you earn resources, build ships, space.akd land battles, take over planets, upgrade technology, ect..but the corellian corvette is always pretty expensive, and freqientoynappears in cannon media(movies,rebels, games) i would think "in the star wars universe" they are cheap enough and easy to steal for the rebels, but they are ok point defense, aka anti fighter ships, but they are like 1/15th, 1/20th the size of a star destroyer, i dont get why they use so many, they are basically useless in combat, as.well as the nebulon b, it has a long shaft connecting front and back, focus fire on that connecting "tube", the ship is done, they always get destroyed. besides the a,b,x and y wings, which are way better than empire fighters, the rebel ships suck. until the mom calamari got involved, then there was no contest. using the corvets and capital ships in the game works,, but if you hsve say 25 fighter and bombers, and no captial ships, you can destroy the computer and other players with just small 1 mam ships. i am on a rant, sorry, but the consistent and continued use of the corvette seems like such a waste, especially to the crews who all die. couple heavy turbo laser hits they blow up:n cant defemd from more than a few fighters, and the nebulous are pretty worthless in game slso. i guess a nice layer of plot armor keeps them relevant.

Makes no sense to me that there were so many rebel faction ships involved in the attack on the Imperial side, everything I’ve read in the extended universe said that the Empire didn’t make a practice of capturing rebel ships and when they did they weren’t used.
It's the other way around. The Empire manufactured those vessels and the rebels captured them. Even Leia's starship in the opening of ANH was officially an imperial vessel at the time.

Haha, well I'm self taught. The explosions are either stock videos or are just fireworks I recorded myself. I import them into after effects, mask them with the pen tool, add feather, set them from normal to screen, then copy and paste, add some gaussian blur. This is pretty simple and the results will vary heavily based on if you have a dark or light frame you're sticking the explosion on. Of course you'll also need to either manually move/rotate the explosion or just track it if the scene is moving. Hope that helps!

Those ships are actually Imperial designs that the rebels make frequent use of. As for their battle strategy perhaps they just wanted to spit in the eyes of their foes before the end.

Honestly this whole video comes from a line Han Solo says when they find destroyed Alderran. "It'd take more firepower than half the starfleet". So, I decided to have half the entire Imperial fleet show up and smash everything just to visualize what that line meant to Han at the time.

Corvettes were very common ships and the ones featured here are the Modified Corvettes CR92A, fielded mainly by the Empire.
