On the last show of the season Colin and Michael swap jokes, and it’s hilarious. You should definitely check those out. Michael always writes racist jokes for Colin to read and neither know what the joke is until they are reading it off the promoter.

Michael is always pulling pranks on Colin for the hell of it because he knows Colin can take it. Colin had the nerve to just walk up to Scarlett Johansson and ask her out on a date when she guest hosted once, and these days they're happily married with kids. Michael jokes that Colin can handle anything, and he puts him through it. Lol. Love their wacky friendship! :)
My mom got to see Frank Sinatra when she was 16 in 1941. Sinatra was a huge star. Think Justin Beiber. He called her on stage. My mom was drop dead gorgeous. Think Lauren Bacall. He sang one of his romantic crooner songs to her, even though she was about six inches taller than him. She melted and started crying. He gave her a hug and a kiss. 70 years later, my mom, dying and suffering from dementia, was reliving that moment the night she passed away. Tears were streaming from her wrinkled eyes, reliving that most special moment. Sometimes, God is good.

I love the chemistry between Colin and Michael. They must have lots of fun preparing their show.
Sinatra was arrested for, "seduction". The women claimed he promised to marry her, but when discovered she was already married, the charges were dropped.
Definitely watch the Weekend Update switch jokes. They're hilarious!
Someone yelled “you stink” at Colin right before Michael told him he directed the audience to not laugh.
The other reason for Che trying to stop everyone laughing at Jost is that the running joke is, as the whitest guy possible, Jost is always the butt of Che, and many other guest's, jibes about him being racist, sexist, homophobic and a long etc. The idea behind the joke being that no-one should laugh because it's "true".
My favorite is when write jokes for each other.
Michael Che and Colin Jost often write jokes for one another which they read live on air for the first time. It's hilarious!

Last time I was at 6 flags (NJ, I grew up an 90 minutes into PA) was in 1980. They were premiering their brand new Roaring Rapids.

SNL always has been and still is hit and miss, it’s as funny as it’s ever been, but these two doing the news is constantly gold.
Britt, you have to see that whole episode of "weekend update." The audience was bursting at all of Michael's jokes and giving a few chuckles at Colin's jokes. Finally, someone from off-camera yelled at Colin that he stivks and the joke was revealed.

I think the new guy SNL has doing Trump, James Austin Johnson, is one of the best (though there aren't any long clips on Y.Tube).
Weekend update has been a weekly staple since the show began. Some casts member were better than others at it, but a few are timeless.
The format is usually a news segment, then a special guest, then another news segment, and sometimes a second special guest.
One things you need to know about these, is that the Jost and Che will sometimes swap out the jokes on each other, so the one reading will have no idea what he's about to say. They typically do this on the last show of the year, and Che normally has Jost same some racially insensitive things, then mocks him for it.
Another time they did this was when Seth Meyers was the host and brought out Stefan (played by Bill Hader). They would change the jokes and Hader had no idea what he was about to say. He never made it through without breaking character, but Stefan is a legend.
Kudos to you for posting something so overtly political. Noticed in the comments some people have been triggered. Ignore them and post what you like. ✌

Comedy is opinion and all opinion is biased. Were Cheech and Chong supposed to do anti-pot jokes too? Was Carlin supposed to do pro-establishment jokes? You guys keep telling us that Gutfeld is a comedian, why doesn't he do some pro-Biden, or Pro-Democrat stuff? Nick Dipaolo is a conservative republican comedian who made lots of Obama jokes. Was he supposed to make pro-Obama jokes too? Because his opinion was that Obama sucked, and his comedians tell their opinions in their jokes. Ben Franklin was one of our first Political satirists. Was he supposed to tell Pro-King George jokes too? So as not to be partisan?

Johnny Carson and Jay Leno maintained a balance - so much so that no one really knew where their sympathies lie. They joked about everyone, regardless of party affiliation. As a result, they had a huge audience. That would be a great standard to emulate.

It’s tough because I’m 47 years old and I started watching SNL when I was very young with my father and loved my entire life even though it was always a little political they went after both sides and it was all good. Now it’s just a liberal groupthink suffering from the worst TDS I’ve ever seen. How embarrassing for them. When Trump is out of the picture their true colors will come through because they’ve got nothing left just like CNN. It’s not about my feelings being hurt it’s about liberal world order, gaslighting, indoctrination, and propaganda. Some people are still disconnected enough to eat it up but most people have woken up to what’s going on now. Your day will come hang in there!
