Thank you, Mandy for another great instructive tutorial! I love Jane Iredale too and as a woman with mature skin, can use both the pure pressed and the amazing base. They both work great, but the amazing skin is amazing on my 61 year old skin and I always get complements when I wear it. Love your channel. God bless!

I am in my late 60 and I just bought it. I love it. It looks so natural but my face looks really good and I look healthy and so natural. I have the Jane Iredale Lip and Cheek stain too which is great.

Whenever people say to me that my skin looks great and I tell them I wear powder foundation and they say that they can't wear powder foundation because they have dry skin..... Between mixing with a bit of moisturizer or spritzing with something, it changes the game. Although I rarely use it that way. I am 54 and do not have the same skin I had when I first began using this over 25 years ago and it still looks amazing on my skin. I do agree that the right brush and technique is everything. I find if my skin is well exfoliated, I can do the swirl and buff method, but I tend to go in the downward motion; but sometimes I forget (usually when I am in a rush) and it still looks good. I use the pressed powder when I go to the beach. It def stays on after swimming! I went to the ocean last summer and was there all afternoon and never had to touch up and did not get sunburned on my face. And my skin looked great. haha! Amazing stuff.

Do you mean the under eyes? I find it has so much coverage, that it can be a bit too heavy under my eyes personally, but I know others that love to set their concealer with it. I haven't gotten the active light again yet...I really need to!
I started in the 90's with La Bella Donna, this one is a bit better in terms of color options and finish. It's great for base, setting powder and eye primer with powder shadows. I'll probably never be without it.

BTW, I wore it for a full day and night at a concert in Austin, TX in April. Super hot and humid weather and it held up nicely.

If you are looking for powder, this or the pressed would be great, but I would probably say this one. As far as the liquids, it depends on the amount of coverage you need. I LOVE the Liquid Minerals, but it is sheer to light coverage. If you want more coverage, the beyond matte is gorgeous!

Hi Love this video thank you. I have been using the pure pressed base for years. I am 66, my skin is pretty good just a bit of an oily T zone. Do you think I would benefit from changing to this or do you recommend a different Jane Iredale foundation.
I think the purpressed is great for an oily skin type, but if you do like a glow, this would be a good one to try. I LOVE the Beyond Matte Liquid foundation. It's not super matte at all, but the longevity is great on oily skin.
I've watched all your base videos and am even more conflicted now 😅 they all sound and look amazing! If you had to choose one base for wedding makeup (long lasting, photographs well, etc) which one would it be?
If you mean powder, I would say the jane iredale purepressed base. If you mean liquid, the longest lasting that I use in my kit is the NARS Soft Matte.

Hi there! You can definitely put it under the eye and above, but I find it to be too much coverage for me personally since I use a separate concealer. 😀
Love Jane Iredale but using it in wedding with the spf do you get flashbacks .
I don't find there are flashbacks with these powders.
Thank you Mandy! What are your thoughts on using a traditional alcohol-based setting spray on top of powder foundation (e.g., Charlotte Tilbury or Urban Decay)? I go back and forth between whether I think it works better than the JI hydration spray, or if it actually can make my skin dry during the day (even though I have combo skin). But I also sometimes get that same result over liquid foundation. Have you experience with this?
I personally find that powder foundation has such great staying power that I don't need to use an additional setting spray. The hydration spray is great because it can cut down on any powdery look, so I prefer to use those. I do know that the alcohol based sprays can definitely dry the skin out; especially if you are using them multiple times a day.
The Charlotte tilbury setting spray is alcohol free

Although I do like Jane iredale products I would never buy any of them again. I purchased blushes and eyeshadows plus lipliners. I had a eyeshadow palette just disintegrate when it was practically new which I get it can happen sometimes in cosmetics but I had a blush just fall apart in pieces too. For the money I paid and they were still fairly new that was just not acceptable.😖 Mandy I was wondering what you thought of the new charlotte tillbury cosmetics that have just come out? They look so pretty.

You reached out to whoever you bought them from. I have used jane for years and I have never had that happen to me. I haven’t tried any of the new Charlotte in awhile. So much of it looks like repetitive colors in different packaging. I did get the new concealer and do like it.
Do you ever use a setting powder over this for oil control/smoothing over the tzone or does this control oil and smooth pores well by itself?
I personally don't, but you definitely could. I find this is pretty well put on it's own, but it's a bit more luminous than the pressed version.

I use Riviera in the pressed but I heard loose is better for aging skin with fine lines (I’m almost 43) what color would you suggest for me in the loose? Thanks!

I really want to try this powder would you say this is more luminous than the Alima pure? I have combination skin and sometimes the Alima pure can break down and become a bit to shiny .
I find the Alima Pure to be a bit more luminous on my skin.
I have extremely dry skin so need a really creamy/occlusive product as a base moisturiser. I’ve found that liquids just don’t sit on top due to this. They streak and crease and seperate so thought this may work. I’ve tried BM powder but it was super drying and just wouldn’t spread/blend. I tried their gel formula which streaked and patched up. Any recommendations please?
This is way easier to use than the Bare Minerals for sure. And to me has better coverage. I do love their gel, but it definitely has to be applied with fingers, in my opinion, to get the best results and avoid the streaks.

Always frightened to spray the face after makeup incase it makes it run off
If you use a spray designed to do so, you should have no issue at all with the makeup running off. I find it almost always improves the look of my makeup, not the other way around. xoxo
@@MandyDavisMUA oh thank you I do actually have one of the Jane Iredale sprays it’s in a red container just not tried it yet. If think ages ago I tried another brand of setting spay and it was awful, not sure if I did it wrong, but I know you are right, thanks again .
I have used the hydration spray but I can’t see that it makes any difference
It definitely affects the color, but if you don't feel like you need it, you don't have to use it.

This loose formula provides barely any coverage and was more noticeable on the skin than the pure pressed base. I even tried using a dense kabuki brush to apply and it just did nothing for my complexion. I've been using pure pressed base for about six years everyday.... I would never buy or use the amazing base again.
Sorry you didn’t have any luck with this, but as you can see in my video, I did get coverage and it does do something for my complexion. Makeup is subjective, like many things. Just sharing my thoughts, and this does in fact work wonders in my skin.
