Today we aim for the stars and keep going until we hit, by forcing the game to give me all the things that I want by resetting until it works out. After a ton of resets, 1 run finally ended working out, and we start off strong by getting almost all of the scaling items in the game - surely the remaining 2 won't take long to find, right? Right?

To not get Tackle box until AFTER getting all the fishing yield upgrades really hurts

miiiight have ben worth it to sacrifice some of the other decent but not amazing upgrades that you got fairly early on. But it's always possible it could've rolled into something useless rather than something amazing, but I think the potential benefit to risk ratio would be worth it to do the rerolls potentially.
Though you did roll a god run pretty early on so you don't necessarily want to risk it all. Maybe only a couple hail Mary rolls then? 😅
Game with upgrades: Exists
Drex: Breaks the hell out of it
Even if the game just applies a weight to all available options, taking the legendaries you don't want WILL still increase your odds of getting the ones you want, just only by a tiny, tiny margin. If the game works that way, the best way to get more legendaries would be to focus on filling up items that can be taken multiple times to remove their higher weight from the pool, rather than the small weight of unwanted legendaries.
Of course, that's assuming that's how the game works, and I have no evidence for that :P Thanks for all the videos on this game Dex, I'm really enjoying them!
If it's a weight then it doesn't make sense to go for legendaries. Weights would mean its a pool of all options combined, so if you want something rare you would instead take those that have the highest weight.
For a simple example:
Imagine a pool of 5 things, 1 with a weight of 96 and 4 with a weight of 1. You want one specific 1. Taking out one 1 means its still a total pool of 99, meaning a 1 in 99 to get the one you want. But if you instead take the 96, then the rest of the pool is 4 1s and each time you level up you get them.
This is highly simplified but gets the point across. For this its also important to consider how many levels an upgrade has, because it will remain in the pool until all levels are taken.
@@DexTag it could also be that there's a chance of any Legendary, and then it's distributed across legendaries ?
Here is my take on it:
Its either a) it got changed and my bet would go towards that or
b) on the left run (in the comparison) you got the high amounts early on where as the right run (the current vid run) had the high amounts in the end basically 'inflating' the real exp gain. Also, i am sure that you could beat it with crops instead of fishing, due to crops having 48 plots and with enough coins you can buy all high exp crops aka. Watermelons and raspberries which should by far outyield fishing. The whole idea / plan to get more levels boils down to crops + fishing, not fishing + mining cause the amount of upgrades you spent into mining to achieve this current run could also have been more exp yield from crops
So, I am not certain about anything for sure, just stating that these are just my thoughts.
In this video we were always REALLY far ahead from the other run, at points even doubling the level and having way more of everything. The other run then caught up insanely fast by having a ton to fish. Fishing increases a lot of things if you got the fishing upgrades, but especially each fish gives bonus fishing speed and fishing speed is converted into fish spawns, while also giving +1% to apple spawns per fish caught, but golden apples also give bonus experience (+2.6% PER apple). In this run here, I had way less fish compared to this other run and it's not even close, I don't even understand how 0 fishes are in the pond often despite 600% spawns (the smaller one with I think 4 spots total).
Crops overall in my experience perform worse than fishing, you can have 48 crop spots but you need to water them. And the irony is that the faster the plants grow, the less you are able to do (at one point) because you can't keep up watering. Combining them both is definitely a good thing to do, but look at the yield of both runs in the endscreen. They are both very low. So while I agree overall with your take, it didn't make a difference here because both were super far behind.
IF this run would have had the same amount of fish, then this wouldn't have been the slightest issue, I'm not sure if you remember but in the old video a single fish sometimes gave 3-5 level ups, we never got this here despite way higher stats (that matter for that), being experience and fishing yield.

I suspect it comes down to which crop you're planting.
You always just plant whatever crop is selected, but if you were to selectively reroll for higher yield crops that have lower thirst and faster growth, you'd get a ton more experience. There's no reason to buy and plant mediocre seeds when you're bottlenecked by the plots and watering speed.
A truly min-maxed god run would also do that :)
exactly. I remeber the situation. A few minutes before you got the apple out of nothing you could see it spawn in on the tree left to the house under the little pond. After you got healed out of nothing the apple wasnt there anymore. Also the direction from where the apple came from matches perfectly
true!! I also think that the pets will only pick up apples if they are on thier way and will not go for them, but this is just what i think and i have 0 evidence for this
there's 2 things you didn't consider:
1.) the stage difficulty may reduce the fish/ore spawns too; on your previous video you weren't playing on level 4, but 3 or maybe 2 (can't remember which) and to increase difficulty aside from changing enemy stats, the first obvious change is to lower ore/fish spawns (planting might also be effected, but is heavilly time and interaction dependant anyway so it could be the status quo between level difficulties).
2.) tiered skill tree behaviour may be a thing - since you kept re-rolling instead of taking lower tier level up rewards, you may have kept certain ones locked (or at least "lowered" the likelihood of them appearing) until you had gotten a set number of T1/T2/T3 in total or points in the specific spec, similar to in an MMO where you need to put X amount of points into a spec's tree until you can unlock the Ultimate Ability, except it's also probability based too and not just "open spec tree > click what you want"
Both runs played on difficulty 1
Ive had all upgrades on levels 1-3 (at least that I can remember right now), including legendaries, fishing and mining epics. So no, I dont think thats the case

@@DexTag phew! well while I have your attention, I know you said it was your last video for now but, if I've not missed it; did you do a duration-themed build? going so gung-ho that the water beam and weed whacker basically turns into phierragi would be an interesting sight if the engine allows
Looking over the data at the end my one question is whats up with the Enemy loot yield. if the comma is supposed to be a point then its just mute issue but if that is supposed to be a comma and you had over 8 mil enemy loot yield that could explain the level difference as the experience from the mobs made the difference.

I wonder if the ore spawns are competing with fish spawn and maybe apples too. Just thinking this might be the case as the ore spawn is higher in this run.

Overall I don't like doing it and as long as I feel like I can navigate, I dont want to use it. It takes away the fun for me to erase what I "made" and only use it in extreme scenarios where I am unable to play anymore otherwise

Its 8.4%, the game uses commas instead of dots :p but yes, even if it would be 8 million enemy loot, enemies only give gold, not experience sadly
