I'm a lifelong guitarist ( both electric and acoustic )/singer/blues harp player having gigged professionally for many many years all over east/central Florida. I "retired" from playing gigs back in '02 because I grew tired of the club scene. But I really do miss the music and a sweet acoustic guitar. After seeing dozens of reviews of this LL16D, I am convinced that this IS the next acoustic guitar for me. I have yet to see or hear anyone say anything negative about this instrument, including a master luthier, who loves this guitar. That says a lot. It definitely has great tone, resonance, and volume........not to mention the fine work & appointments found only on much more expensive guitars ( I've owned quite a few high end ones. ) Basically, I'M SOLD, and I'm really looking forward to owning & playing one of these.
I think that passage you played around the 11:50 mark has me sold. I play and write alot in those ringing chord voicings and they just jumped out of the guitar. Great review!
Yes there is something beautiful about Yamaha guitars. I have a 1968 FG 150 that has been restored and I love it! I have many high end guitars but have been considering an L series like this cuz Yamaha doesn’t sound like any other mainstream US guitar whether it be Gibson/Martin/Taylor/Guild etc. It has its own unique sound that is iconic! Love the videos mega blessings!
Thanks for sharing your insight Jarvis . The side purfling theory does make a lot of sense in making the top more responsive. Always interesting listing to lutheir's point of view . Great vid as always !
What I love about your reviews is not only the information provided about the instrument, but especially the pure joy you take in playing your guitars !!! Its a beautiful thing. Thank you
Great sound! 5 time recommendations for buying Yamaha LL16 Deluxe model over LL16 is nice touch as advice, and great achievements for Yamaha. I wish both Yamaha and you many happy years in future. May God bless you abundantly, and all guitar makers too! Thank you Yamaha P.S. Please make more A VS B, or A VS B VS C.

Hi Jarvis,i have a yamaha LL 16 sunburst which I bought quite many years ago.Personally I never get bored playing with it because of the comfortable slim yamaha neck, it's bright and loud acoustic sounds bec of the rosewood and dreadnought design. If i need to play strumming for group singing, it never fails me.technically wise,I would grade this yamaha buildup slightly better than gibson hummingbird hummingbird. would you agree Jarvis? tq
hi, I'm following you from Italy, I own two Yamaha ll16ds and ls16s, but I liked where you talked about the modifications made to the Yamaha ll16d, the bridge and saddle in fossilized bone, in Italy it's possible... how do you get it?? what mechanics do you recommend for the lld16d?
I’m so amazed by the Deluxe model, I wonder if the LL16M, mahogany version may sound, resonate better than my FGX3. The deluxe sounds louder and has more sustain than my FGX3 for sure.
I have the black LL16 delux model and it sounds wonderful. I'll never sell this guitar, I have to get a little more used to the neck because I'm used to takamines.
@@TheGuitarSpaSingapore The problem is that I have a project to record some covers and my songs acoustically for my UA-cam channel, and I think it would sound better with metal strings. i want to do something more or less like boyce avenue, sometime i can. The problem is that I put my guitar up for sale, but in Venezuela we are all poor and nobody has money to buy it, so I am trying to change it but nobody has a decent guitar here.
