  • How to build a homemade flagpole. Today we make a custom flag pole out of drill pipe, old horseshoes and odds and ends we have laying around our shop.

I would have welded the ball bearing to a 1/2 inch rod 8 inches long, then weld rod to cap end of the pipe.

@@LuthiRanchWY No, I've commented before though. I've been camping up there for a few years now. This year I was on Crow Creek Road on the Idaho side, closer to Montpellier. Also stayed outside Alpine for 2 weeks on the Greys River last June. I plan to rent a Forest Service Guard Station (if I can snag a reservation) at McCain or anywhere back there. I'm getting to know the area pretty well on my dual-sport motorcycle. I see some winter in your videos and I don't think I could handle that!

Ok I remember now. We used to snowmobile up to McCain Meadows a lot and stay in the forest service cabin for a few nights. It was always a lot of fun.

Thanks! It probably is a mill ball. I got them from a family member that worked at a phosphate mine and they mill their product down and turn it into a slurry and pipe it away.

If they get one in the ground I’ll try and get a video of it. They bent one though trying to hang trusses with it haha

That was a great idea, smart and creative. We didn't see the end with the flag.

Just had that same idea with drill pipe. How did it turn out?

I never got to see it in the ground. My uncle used it to try and hang trusses on a house with and bent it haha. But I’ve got a couple others built that just need to be picked up and planted

I haven’t gotten to see it in the ground yet. My uncle decided to try and use it to swing trusses with and bent it before he planted it in the ground haha
