Love this man. One of my most favorite songs. The chords are so beautiful they take you to another world. The live at budokan also has one of the best solos I've ever heard.
i very appreciate your work, man, thank you! can't wait Trial Of Tears analysis(i know it could take A LOT of time, so even intro with just first verse would be great))
It'll be split into 3 sections just like the song so I'll be able to get it out in installments. Only downside is it's the last song so got a few humdingers to get through before then.
Thanks for the explanation on the secondary dominants. I went down a rabbit hole trying to figure out why some of these progressions are so great. You are the best bro!
Great as usual, but man I have to point that out, your lighting game is REALLY going in the right direction, what an improvement over the 1st videos, keep at it ! 🔥 🍻
yea I remember all that from AP theory now I appreciate you explaining each chord progression in these tutorials helps me retain and contextualize the information especially with the double notation for rhythm your work is the best I’ve seen on here
the Gm/A is functioning as a ii (Em7b5) I think .... ii V i. which is like a Gm6 anyway... so you are right. :) also, thank you for these videos! I love them!!!
There's a case to be made for a ii chord there. ii's iv's at a certain point they can interchange. The pedal tone makes it impossible to determine either way. Though I guess you can say it sounds more diminished than anything else.. which would make it lean toward a ii... WELP NOW I GOTTA START OVER..
