The Dirty Nil are a heavy, spasmodic Rock band. They bring influences of garage, punk and hardcore into their loose, unhinged style. Luke Bentham’s grizzled vocal delivery is backed by ear-shattering guitar noise, concussive drum propulsion and thundering bass lines. Their official bio sums up the band’s ethos with a simple thought, “The Dirty Nil play rock and roll - cause they couldn’t do a damn thing else if they tried.” Check out the performance by The Dirty Nil on Audiotree Live.

I have listened to this probably 6 times in the last week, and every time its over I go downstairs , have a cigarette and then go to my basement and spend an hour or so banging on my guitar and screeching my vocal chords... such a powerful live band. Hopefully i'l get to see them.
Can't get enough of The Dirty Nil. What a band.
00:50 Zombie Eyed
07:36 Friends In The Sky
10:27 Helium Dreamer
16:07 Know Your Rodent
18:57 Lowlives
27:02 Wrestle Yü To Hüsker Dü
thanks for that!
These guys stand out from so many similar and boring indie bands today
Goddamn, the drummer's style is awesome. The Dirty Nil always smash it!
He reminds me of Tre Cool, from Green Day in his explosiveness and his expressions. He is balls to the walls, and full of skill to back that approach up, straight up.
Luke’s solo on Friends in the sky is highly under rated
all the guitar work on that song is underrated. Pretty much playing 2 parts on one guitar
@@ohsotired4671 honestly it changed my perspective on writing riffs, Luke’s such a unique guitarist, hope he gets the recognition he deserves someday cause it’s badass..
@@ohsotired4671 such a good way to put it. Luke's a master of that stuff.
i fucking love THE NIL
I've got to meet them 3 times and they are the nicest most down to earth guys. They always remember our names even if it's been a really long time. I hope to see them blow up even more through the years. Check out their cover of Bowie's moonage daydream it's one of my favorties!
Pumped to see these guys while they're on tour!
too awesome to not repeat!
Cracking session!!
Bring them on again!!
i cant stop replaying 2:18
So rad!
awesome
Wicked Session
Came for the les paul custom, stayed for the dan armstrong Lucite
theLatinloser That guitar is amazing!
The Lucite is ridiculously expensive and rare. This guy rocks, good to see it in a real rockers hands.
Is it just me or does the lead singer of the Nil look like Stefan of PUP's younger bro?
They actually tour together alot!
He reminds me of Matt skiba....alot
All Canadians look a like
please have them back
Also, Luke (just learned his name) has a fucking SICK guitar.
gonna give this a hard like
thatsa texas sized 10-4 bud
cool dudes
Idk what it is about the opening but i love it
Those guitar straps are amazing. skinny and belt like, I want a few
i sure they hurt a tonne though
yeah probably haha
Wicked. What kinda cameras do you guys use?
We use the latest iPhones.
I get Weezer and Replacements vibes there is a lot of Paul Westerberg in the vocals and the e riff writing
does anyone have a tab (or chords) for Friends in the sky?
got everything but the solo, i'll throw it on ultimate guitar soon
thanks man, can you put the link here when you do?
please! I wanna learn this song so bad
Nice
fuck I'm so in love with these guys! I mean their music :D
Wow awesome, My Morning Jacket was actually my first show and they also played for 3 and a half hours! They fuckin' kill it. One of the best shows I've ever seen for sure. Dirty Nil kill it as well. Great set
Where can we subscribe to the record club?
lukee1309 i thought they said they were done doing it
I just discovered them but
WHAT HAPPENED TO THE BASS PLAYER? ANYONE KNOWS
left the band man
ross is a super nice and funny guy but it was definitely a huge loss
their first album absolutely kills the second one
@@havoc170 that's crazy and yea i feel the same about that 1st album that's shit goes in
@@havoc170 I think about Avenge Sevenfold when i listen to TDN although i know the drummer is not as beasty! And Ross was not only super nasty on the bass but he had vocals. Do you know what he's doing know or who he's with?
@@BlacKingSolo you mean dave right? :D
he's gone full hipster mode, looks like a prick now and plays guitar for ancient shapes
Audiotree is awesome, just saying.
Fans of this, listen for just a moment. A band long ago, brought this passion, and intensity back to rock.
Muzzle; Betty Pickup (artist/album) listen to it. You're welcome. Also for a lighter distortion, but same explosive, and noise driven experimentation, try
Possum Dixon; Watch the girl destroy me, and Your Emergency is About to End. (Artist/song/song). Again, its fun to deduce where roots of rock and other musical forms come from. I love this band, but I am reminded of these solid predecessors. Please listen, and feedback, is this similar? Did I estimate correctly, that these bands have a similarity and or vein of constance throughout them? Please respond, I cannot learn if I have no data.
Is this bass player still in the band?
nope, left early in 2017 i believe
Darrien Day yep, April.
Bass player looks like Matthew Bevilaqua from The Sopranos
I get some serious Undergrads vibes here
saw these guys live a few days ago, one of the best bands I've heard live yet
Bordin' Brad Halifax show with billy talent?
nah the casino in moncton lol, was a great show overall
Is that Jon Bernthal from Punisher in the bass?
Absolutely love how he milks out every fuckin sound he can get out of that guitar
I miss Dave
For a Canadian band. More true colours in vids. Red and white. Toss in a beaver.
Who's the hottie interviewing them?
Seriously. Someone needs to get on this.
"hottie"
looks like a fucking goblin
If Weezer you know...stayed true to being Weezer.
Didn't know Jake Paul could play drums
No wonder they ditched the bass player, nice dude and he can play and sing but he's rolling as if he's the lead singer/guitar player.. love the band.
this is not good
Jonathan Grayson you must have terrible taste in music then. one of the best bands i’ve ever fucking heard bud.
Your moms not good
