Little early to rank the worst Snow White, the worst has not yet been released. And for Gomez Addams, not quite fair to judge him on it as he was cast as a more faithful appearance of how Gomez is supposed to be in the comic. I'm also surprised you didn't add a worst of John Castle (Punisher) when there was few more actors to compare than Jack Reacher.
Luis Guzman is -- the physically most accurate portrayal of Gomez to the original 1950's comic's portrayal. The recent animated movies at least have *animation* to portray him as such, but you can tell that Luis Guzman was picked just because he's the closest physical live action portrayal of the character. Doesn't mean it's great, but I do appreciate what they were going for.
If you've seen the original New Yorker cartoons, the character (which was a caricature of politician Tom Dewey) , was described by Charles Addams as a jolly character, full of schemes. Guzman was nothing like that character. Guzman's Gomez only looked like the character Charles Addams drew, as his whole character was wanting to be with Morticia, and the fault was how badly the character was written.
I agree : I felt Morticia was miscast, while Gomez was perfect. It's just that Raul Julia created a Gomez so epic that everyone took him as the reference.
Nick Cage's Ghost Rider was pretty sad, but the WORST rendition of a character of all time would have to be Sylvester Stallone's Judge Dredd. It was always considered questionable, but then when Karl Urban came along and knocked it out of the park, we could all see how sad the Stallone version was.
Cruise made for an excellent off-grid nameless dirfter type that Reacher is supposed to be. Ritchson might fit the physical description but frankly the guy makes Reacher come off as an overgrown meathead jock. At least Cruise made the character believable in his backstory.
Not usually a fan of cruise, but u agree he killed it as Reacher, having not read any of the books at the time, the height difference between the book reacher and cruises reacher never bothered me .
Exactly. As a fan of Reacher novels I thought he really captured the spirit of the character. Yeah, he might not be the right height, but does it really matter when he got the vibe perfectly? You buy him as Reacher. Same could be said about Keanu Reeves as John Constantine. Unfortunately, too many people concentrated on superficial stuff.
That show had one of the best casting departments I've ever seen, there are few even minor characters I can think of who didn't fit the actor who played them. I think the two spinoffs had a little less luck but the main casts were always good.
Sally Fields was the best Aunt May. I’m sorry. She gave the best performance in the role, despite not really liking the movies herself. Her or the Spider-Verse version are the best. Marisa Tomei feels like an actual aunt at least to a 15 year old but it takes her lasts movie to do anything.
OK, this video needs a follow-up. George Clooney as Batman, David Niven as James Bond,, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jackie Earl Haley as Freddy Krueger, Robert DeNiro as Frankenstein's monster, Kenneth Branagh as Hercule Poirot, Christian Bale as John Connor, Robert Downey Jr. as Sherlock Holmes, Benicio Del Toro as The Wolfman, Halle Berry as Catwoman, Harvey Keitel as the Devil ...
I take issue with RDJ. I have seen a lot of adaptations of Sherlock Holmes (go back through the black and white versions, etc.) They actually did a good job with that adaptation. The most accurate? No, but since they were not trying to do that it really worked.
Sorry, I just had to snicker a little at the pronunciation of Telly SAvalas' last name. And then I started again with Raul HOOlia! Anyhow, I enjoyed the video very much. My top choice would have been Jessie Eisenberg as Lex Luthor. I really like Eisenberg, but what a stinker of a performance. I know Clancy Brown was too old for the part, but he portrayed him to perfection in the Justice League animated tv show. Luthor is a cunning criminal, not criminally insane.
I feel like they were uncomfortable about the sexual implications of her version, which is understandable perhaps, however, the overall performance was still great, fitting the character well.
Finally somebody noticed that Jack Reacher isn't supposed to be 5'3" and pretty. He's an MP and built like a fucking tank because you need that if you're going to overpower Marines and and Rangers.
Luis Guzman actually looks like the comic rendition the show was based on. Jared Letos Joker (minus the look) was superior to Joaquin Phoenix's pathetic simpleton. Are we really supposed to accept that Phoenix version is the arch nemesis to Batman?
In many of these cases, the fault was not with the stars. They were the victims of bad writing. To say that Julia Roberts was the worst Tinkerbell is just unfair. I thought she was perfect in the role in the context of the metafiction story.
In Beauty and the Beast it felt that Watson's awful performance changed the undertones of the character. It became a tale of "how to marry a prince if you play your cards right". The animated film is more about "if I am a good person I will find better life and happiness". She was wooden and looked absolutely uninterested in what she was doing. In fact the film was saved by all the secondary characters because Dan Stevens also was quite unremarkable to say the least
The problem with Luis Guzman as Gomez was although he may have looked much like the character Charles Addams drew in the New Yorker, he lacked any character except for being horny for Morticia, There was no dimension to the character, and fortunately his appearance in Wednesday was mercifully brief.

Remember, only a small proportion of movie stars are great actors, and only a small proportion of great actors are movie stars. Actors play characters. Stars play themselves - but it works, because they have charisma.
The part about 'Jesus' role, listing a variety of those having played Him.. seems they forgot the well known (or should be) Mr. Powell in Jesus of Nazareth.
If Tom Cruise was cast in the title role in "Annie", the movie would be awful no matter how good a job Cruise did at it, because people expect Annie to look like a 10-year-old girl. Same principle, less exaggerated, with him trying to play Jack Reacher: the skill was there, but he just didn't resemble the character.
My favourite "Spiderman" was the pilot of the live action "Amazing Spiderman" TV series with Nicholas Hammond which was released in my country, Australia, in cinemas, so I count it, as it got a theatrical release outside of the USA.
Long before Jack Reacher, there was Cabot Cain. He was six-seven, had a photographic memory and had degrees in mechanical and chemical engineering. Makes you think.

Snow White and the Huntsman was full of A-list actors who were at the top of their craft. Everything about the film was great EXCEPT the 2x4 walking across the screen called Kristen Stewart. Every amazing scene was ruined the moment the breathing mannequin walking into frame. It would have been more believable to have 80's AI CGI a muppet into each scene.
I am sorry I like Leto Joker over Phoenix...Joker was a cross between Taxi Driver and Fallen Down. They just put Joker make up on character. Do think Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor should be on list.
I enjoyed Cruise's Reacher film, but they should have called the charecter something else. He's so far from the Jack Reacher of the books that it's almost like casting Jodie Foster in a role meant for Deborah DeBicky.
Cruise played Reacher just as I've read him in the books. The size thing may have actually helped in the films, because he wasn't such a giant man in them.

@@Spawnwick_Boseman82820 I thought Tobey McGuire was dorky and not the superhero type. Couldn't stand MJ in it. The first one was okay, the second was okay (Molina saved it) and the third one was terrible and undid Spidey's whole origin story and his purpose. I like TASM better because Andrew Garfield was cooler, did the one liners Spidey is known for, and he and Emma Stone were great in it. They have better chemistry than Maguire and Dunst did. The film suffers when compared to being so close to when the Maguire versions came out, so suffer by comparison , but on its own, it is a better film than the Maguire ones. As for Tom Holland, he looks like a little boy doing cosplay, Marisa Tomei is too young to play Aunt May, who is a much older woman (something the Maguire versions got right) and relies too much on cameos from other heroes. Tony Stark wasn't needed in the first one. He wasn't involved with Spiderman in any of the previous source material, but was shoehorned in to remind everyone if was an MCU film and a shared universe (and the fact that Marvel characters are one-dimensional and can't carry a standalone film). My favourite version was the old 70s TV version with Nicholas Hammond. It has a certain charm and isn't over the top. And since outside the USA, the pilot and two of the two hours episodes were shown theatrically (which is how I saw them), I count that as a movie version. So I don't count the Sam Raimi films being the first ones.
3:00 - 3:04 Is she referring to just her character or all the characters in The Amazing Spider-Man? Gwen Stacey is definitely not a one-dimensional character in the films.
I'm sorry but I'm voting for YOUNG aunt may, first time ever an MCU character died and I felt nothing at her loss only felt bad bc of what Peter was going through. Also, casting needs to reakize if youre gojng to cast for snow white maybe stop making the queens 20xs hotter, snow is supposed to be fairest of them all after all
I don't really care for Tom Cruise as a person, but he did channel Jack Reacher's character and personality pretty well. But face it, Jack Reacher is a huge guy... it's central to his character. I have read all of the series.
"Casino Royal" was superb, but I found all the rest of the Daniel Craig 007 movies rather forgettable. Too much private back-story that always felt a bit forced to me, but it is of course a matter of personal taste.
Best spider movie was a National Geographic documentary Kristen Stewart should not be here - she can't act her way out of a wet paper bag and you should never make the evil queen so much more attractive than the title, Tinkerbell was a bxxxh! Even in the original story she is just a narcissist. Leto ??? Leys see him actually ACT in SOMETHING. Yet to be seen... Any Disney live action remake is the death knell of any project, actor or production team.
1. i think you just like snarking at SPECTRE, but really what about Anthony Dawson as least memorable Blofeld? 2. It's pronounced "Sa-VA-las", with the accent on the second syllable. 3. I can't help but feel that this isn't the first time by a long shot that the sentence "Joaquin Phoenix... Jesus Christ!" has been uttered.
"Peter Pan's Tinkerbell has been portrayed near countless times on screen...some of the more notable performances include Virgina Brown Faire in the 1924 film"......yes. Of course. A notable performance by the universally well known Virginia Brown Faire, who's a renowned international celebrity actress. A performance that's literally 100 hundred years old and I'm sure most of us have seen and remember fondly....idiots...
The average concern for faithfulness to source material has gone from so-so to nil in recent decades. Case in point: Marissa Tomei is too young to play Aunt May, and there's no attempt by the production to make her the Multiversal counterpart to the familiar, venerable character. Fair to say this goes for Sally Field too, of course.
Except that, as Peter was only 15, his aunt needed to be in the 35 to 40 age range; so she was right for that version of May. I always wondered if Peter's aunt and uncle from the comics, 70s films and cartoons, was just 'familial names' to call them by when his parents were killed because they were, at least, his grandparents age.
Leto played the Joker right, just not the right face for the part. Not like he did the set design on any of the shots. The movie just failed in the end as it was just a bunch of short stories edited into a main story that just was not there. The character intros were fine. The main story lacked in substance and overall cohesion. The next one did the same thing, but did it right.
Absolutely, Tom Cruise was a terrible Reacher. Totally unsuited both physically and personality wise. Cruise only knows how to play Cruise. The guy playing Reacher in the new series does a great job.

The film suffers when compared to being so close to when the Maguire versions came out, so suffer by comparison
, but on its own, it is a better film than the Maguire ones.
Plus I liked Spiderman/Peter Parker more in these films than the other ones.
Just her character
Leto’s Joker was awesome. I’ll die on that hill.
Must be a hill comprised of shit.
I'm sorry but I'm voting for YOUNG aunt may, first time ever an MCU character died and I felt nothing at her loss only felt bad bc of what Peter was going through.
Also, casting needs to reakize if youre gojng to cast for snow white maybe stop making the queens 20xs hotter, snow is supposed to be fairest of them all after all
I liked Jared Leto as joker. The films are what let him down.
I don't really care for Tom Cruise as a person, but he did channel Jack Reacher's character and personality pretty well. But face it, Jack Reacher is a huge guy... it's central to his character. I have read all of the series.
Joaquin Phoenix is not only a TERRIBLE actor, but his King of the Incels was no better than Leto's mumble rapper garbage.
Chris Pine could be on this list twice, once for Jack Ryan, and again for James Kirk.
Love your content
Has any human being ever described Kristen Stewart as a “great actor” before?
"Casino Royal" was superb, but I found all the rest of the Daniel Craig 007 movies rather forgettable. Too much private back-story that always felt a bit forced to me, but it is of course a matter of personal taste.
Best spider movie was a National Geographic documentary
Kristen Stewart should not be here - she can't act her way out of a wet paper bag and you should never make the evil queen so much more attractive than the title,
Tinkerbell was a bxxxh! Even in the original story she is just a narcissist.
Leto ??? Leys see him actually ACT in SOMETHING. Yet to be seen...
Any Disney live action remake is the death knell of any project, actor or production team.
My favorite movie Jesus: Alan Arbus in Greaser’s Palace. The actor also shined in MASH the TV series.
I like Chris Pine but they shoved him into to many franchise at one time.
Leto was at least a Joker unlike Phoenix who I think is the worst because he’s not even Joemr
1. i think you just like snarking at SPECTRE, but really what about Anthony Dawson as least memorable Blofeld?
2. It's pronounced "Sa-VA-las", with the accent on the second syllable.
3. I can't help but feel that this isn't the first time by a long shot that the sentence "Joaquin Phoenix... Jesus Christ!" has been uttered.
Emma Watson was better as Belle than Jared Leto as The Joker. You need to switch those around.
I feel putting Emma Watson in the number 1 spot is wild😅 not the best sure but she isn't THAT bad. Should've been at a higher spot imo
Emma Watson was Brilliant as Belle 💯🎬
She is a shite actress and singer.
Most of Kristen Stewart’s “work” is lacking in personality. 🙄
The MCU Spidey trilogy as well as CA: Civil War & AV: Infinity War.
I hate it when my channel views JUMP INTO SPONSORED ADS OUT OF NOWHERE!!!!! KNOCK IT OFF!!!!
Absolutely, Tom Cruise was a terrible Reacher. Totally unsuited both physically and personality wise. Cruise only knows how to play Cruise. The guy playing Reacher in the new series does a great job.
Utter nonsense.
Nope. I've read the books, Cruise is pretty accurate to the character.
Joe Mantegna as Spenser. I'd say Mark Wahlberg in the same role, but it would be a stretch to call Marky Mark a great actor.
